Adelaide Dolers - This Saturday 26th Nov
MsKatie replied to MsKatie's topic in General Dog Discussion
Just bumping this :D -
Posting it here in case anyone missed it in Social - this Saturday - usual park - morning tea about 10.30 ish (If people want to bring somethIng) to say farewell to the wonderful Mad Woofter and her hairies. I will be there about 12 ish but will be dogless as I am coming straight from kids sport.

My feral kelpie snaffled a sausage from a toddler in a pram when she was younger - we were on a charity walk with some DOLers and I think the temptation was just too much for her. Luckily the child was fine and Mum was very understanding. ETA - another time we were on our way to the beach early one morning and were stopped by a RBT - as the officer leant down to the window to test the feral kelpie leant through from the back and let out the loudest, scariest barking fit ever - poor guy almost jumped out of his skin
-
I have been thinking about this - will talk to my vet about I and have it put on his records - I think - given his history - it would be a good idea
-
We nearly lost Earl in the last school holidays due to his intestine twisting and cutting off blood supply - he has had several surgeries for ingesting foreign objects and we are absolutely paranoid about bloat or anything intestinal with him. Any signs of restlesness / constipation / vomiting / gagging - he is at the vet. My greatest fear is that he will bloat and I will miss the signs - I worry that his surgeries and the fact he lost 80 cm of his intestine makes him susceptible to stuff like this

Affectionate Easy going Friendly to all (people and dogs) Trainable Fluffy Looks like my current 2 meet most of them if you combine the 2 of them - Kelpie is #4 - Bloodhound is #1, #2 and most of the time is #3 - but neither of them are #5 and I'd really like a fluffy next time So - Lapphund and Aussie are on our list for the next 2 dogs :D
-
She was a unique little gremlin Jo - and once she found you she knew that was where she belonged - her time with you was very special for both of you and she will be sadly missed by many of us. to you Run free Banshee - watch over those who loved you here and wait for them at the Bridge
-
Mine have a kennel outside - and inside Earl has one chair he is allowed on and Rosie has one of the plastic dog beds with blankets in it. Both of them sleep in their soft crates at night on pillows or blankets. Earl likes to lie under the trampoline on the cool artificial turf.

Dammit - Dillon was a lovely boy. Run free boy I hope karma gets these sickos big time.

I should be able to come but may be a bit late due to kids sport commitments - prob be about 1/4 to 12. Be sad to see you go -
That sucks big time - there are some sickos out there. I would def report it

So what are my chances of keeping outdoor furniture in one piece with an Aussie and a Lappie?
-
Think I am with you there whitka - next 2 for me - but not for a while yet I just to have to convince the bf. He says where going to be a one dog household, think im going to have to change that ;) We've always been multi dog household - were 3 for quite a while and now 2 - we both work so I think it's company for each other - good luck convincing your bf :D

Sounds like my type of dog

My heart lies with the black tri's, I just adore them but the blues are the ones that seem to attract the most attention in public. Although Isaak gets LOADS of attention and comments about his stunning head (he's getting a bloody big one with all the nice things that were said about him at this weekends shows). So, just because I think you should see his beautiful head up close, here's my lovely boy. He is a beautiful boy - and your signature of your gorgeous dogs catches my eye every time - the more I hear about Aussies the more I lean towards them as a breed - but temperament would be the major factor - and I like goofballs - having a Bloodhound currently ;)
-
Can I just say that the blue merle Aussies are the only dog that I think could sway me from a Lappie as my next dog - so as a compromise i think I will just have to get one of each

Your Opinions Please

My first thought was behaviourist and I would also reccomend Mark Singer. This sounds like a downward spiral -

Lure Coursing In Adelaide - For Non-greyhounds

Thanks for the update jacqui - fingers crossed for next weekend -
It looks like a good ramp but unfortunately doesn't suit the back of our car as it either has to rest on the paintwork or it won't rest flush to the floor - looking at th epicture of the telescoping one it seems to have better clearance - this one looks like it is supposed to sit on a flat back. I may be selling it on I think - shame because it is fairly sturdy and wide.

I'm in for this Sunday with my 2 if we go early - otherwise the hound doesn't cope too well with the heat - will keep checking the thread for updates -
I bought this one from ebay - cost me $135 - including postage
