  1. Sending healing vibes your way - hope Abbey recovers
  2. Got up at 6.30 and it was already too hot to take my 2 out - just about to kick up the airconditioning for the day
  3. Earl is just great for this topic And Rosie has her moments too
  4. My 2 haven't been out for a walk for the past couple of days because of the heat - and tomorrow isn't looking good either - 39 degrees - unless we go for a quick walk at 6 when they get up then they will not be going out tomorrow. i have a few set walks and try and pick the shadiest ones when the weather is hot - and ones that aren't all footpath.
  5. It's disappointing that there are losers who actively ignore firebans and put everyone in danger, including themselves!! I know - we would't even let the kids have sparklers tonight -it was 39 today and 41 tomorrow Very lucky you were home, and hopefully they haven't hit anyone else's poor dog who may be left in the yard. We still have the helicopter around, and it is great. Really quietened them down. Send it our way - I have a funny feeling that we are going to get a blast of them at midnight

  7. We have absolute idiots here - one of their fireworks landed in our yard - thank goodness we were home and the dogs are Ok - I have a stressed and nervous kelpie though - she won't relax till it's over Flaming idiots - it's a total fire ban here too
  8. thinking of you tonight - may Zedley fly free and painless - to wait for you over the bridge
  9. Both of mine sleep in closed soft crates - Rosie is in the walk in robe and Earl is in the corner of the bedroom next to the window - best thing I ever did was crate train them - makes for peace of mind that they aren't wandering at night
  10. Those of you who know my daughter know how dog obsessed she is - here are some pics of mine with my kids and my nephew
  11. Brilliant news - a real happy Christmas story
  12. Love Dusty's face in the first shot
  13. Some dogs smell doggier than others - I think Bloodhounds are one of them - and I def notice Earl smells stronger than Rosie. ;) I love the look of the corded coats but just would not have the time to put into establishing a good coat and maintaining it
  14. Just bumping this to say thanks for all of the advice- Earl now sits and allows me to put the drops in his ears - and I am so much quicker about it
  15. Earl was not too impressed with Christmas *L*
  16. Run free Nelson and to you redial - you have made the right decision - hard though it was
  17. Baby Earl is sooo cute - I want one! But they grow up to big drooly monster Earls
  18. And Earl - the first couple are compliments of Centitout - the breeder our lovely boy
  19. Ok - lets start with Rosie - who I think has almost grown into her ears
  20. Before I got Earl I didn't know Bloodhounds came in liver and tan - now I prefer it over the red colouring or the black blanket markings. Apparently the black marked pups were popular from his litter but we were more interested in temperament.
  21. Thank you for all the tips - am incorporating the training with him getting used to his ears being touched (he is usually fine but I think with them being sore at the moment he is obviously reluctant) and also using the cotton wool - got the large size balls and it seems to work OK - after this is cleared up I will continue on with the training and cleaning them regualrly with the cotton wool and hopefully we can avoid any more infections
  22. Thanks - some great ideas - I like the idea of the cotton wool - was there any problem with the cotton wool coming out of his ears- it didn't get stuck at all - he has such droopy ears ;) Will also ask about the Mometomax drops as doing it once a day would be much easier.
  23. Hi - Earl needs to have eardrops to clear up a yeast infection in his ear but he (understandably) doesn't like having them put in - At the moment I have been getting him to lie down on his side and manipulating his ear till the canal is open and then squirting it in - then flipping him over and repeating the process Just wondering if anyone had any techniques or anything to share Thanks
  24. What a beautiful girl - lots of hugs and healing vibes coming your way
