OMG - you've sent us a monster :p That's why I said at least double it - and why I never trust what I read on the Net - should have asked you first Centitout ;) That's OK - I like big dogs (just as well isn't it) -
Earl is just so damn nosy

HE is 20 kgs at the moment - adult weight for males is 40 - 50 kgs - so he will double it at least Rosie has him well sorted though - he follows her round looking at her adoringly - and they play together really well - she lets him steal her toys from her Very stressed out!!!! He really does have a gorgeous temperament - good work - he is going to be a great ambassador for bloodhounds ;) She still barks at him but he just barks back now cheeky sod Thank you for the kind offer - I don't want to go back to work - I could quite happily stay home all day and play with the dogs. I am looking forward to him meeting everyone on the 31 st too Edited for spelling -

Earl has settled in well - loves Rosie (our 18 month old kelpie) We took him to the beach today - he did really well - wasn't too sure about the water - I think the waves scared him - but we came back and he promptly fell in the pool twice ( clumsy beast ). He is very people orientated - loves to be around his family - my OH is absolutely rapt in him - loves to have a cuddle. We are all still learning - but we are loving the journey - I go back to work full time next week but OH is a shift worker so he won't be left alone too much . So - new photos attached - enjoy Bonnie still isn't real sure but no longer wants to eat him But Rosie - I just loooooove you ....and this netball is very tasty..... Now how can you resist this face???? -
Fingers crossed she comes home safe and well People who believe this sort of animal torture is entertainment are severely disturbed individuals who should be locked away from the general public indefinitely - they sicken me ;)

Well done everyone - and thank you Daisy for starting this thread - it does motivate me to go out for a walk because I feel good being able to add to it. What a pain about the off lead dogs - I would have been very worried - I am very concious of walking ours where it is on lead only - Rosie's recall is unreliable and Earl is a bloodhound and only a pup still - but that doesn't stop some people Took them down to the beach this morning - first time Earl has seen a beach - he wasn't really sure about it but paddled around a bit - Rosie got very wet and even swam a little bit - which was good for her
-
Didn't have the camera unfortunately - they would have been good photos Earl is just a pet - he's not quite show quality - but we love him anyway
-
Ok - was back at work so Rosie missed a couple of days but my daughter and I took her out this afternoon :D and I am determined to get back to morning walks when school goes back *sighs* 5.30 is NOT my best time of the day but it definitely wakes me up :D

Took Earl to Petstock this morning - needed a new Nylabone as he has taken a fancy to the one our kelpie likes to chew too - plus wanted to get him out and about a bit..........anyway ....was talking to a lady in there and round the corner come these beautiful puppies - an Amstaff(boy - 3 1/2 months)) and a Golden Retriever(girl 4 1/2 months). The pups had a lovely time sniffing each other - got along fantastically - and the owner and I had a great chat about why we had chosen to get purebred dogs and how great the experience had been. Came out of ther feeling really good - Earl behaved really well and got lots of comments (OK - most were along the lines of 'what is he?" :D) but one man said to his son "Look at the pretty dog" :D Love Earl as I do I would not call him pretty

I know - when my nephews (19 and 21) come to visit he swears they are nocturnal
-
I hope not - I have just got my son to sleep a bit later in the mornings Only took 11 years
-
Earl is quite interested in food - any food - any time - any place - he is getting better but with the ammount he is eating I am amazed he can find any more room in his tummy Hopefully he works out soon that mornings don't start till at least 6 - preferably later on weekends.
-
That's Ok - she can eat Earl if he keeps getting me up at 5 o'clock in the morning and then taking himself back to bed for a couple more hours snoozing J/K - she'd choke on the excess skin
-
OK - I will bring snags then for a barbie - can't have Pele slacking off on her supervisory duties

Always happy to share more photos I sent you an email with some info about him - he is doing really well - he has gone out for a couple of walks - don't want to overwhelm him - there is a DOL meet on the 31st so he will make his DOL debut there He has a vet appointment on Saturday and we are looking at taking him for his next outing in the car on Sunday - maybe to the river in the city for a walk around. He is currently asleep on the floor next to the computer - snoring - little monster had me up at 5 o'clock and then went back to bed till 8.30 - I was at work at 1/4 to 7 as I was so awake I didn't bother going back to bed He is a very laid back boy - does lots of sleeping but he and Rosie are getting along well - watching him chase her around the yard is particularly funny ;) So - here are some new pics Rosie and Earl with the tug toy Doing what he does best - notice the little chew toy - he loves it - but he is also willing to sample anything else he can find All 3 of the dogs Posing

Run free over Rainbow Bridge sweetheart - where people don't care what your breed is And to the irresponsible people who bred and / or dumped this gorgeous girl - may karma come back on you ;)

Looking forward to catching up with everyone and sharing the wrinkly and slobberly bloodhound cuddles with you all *Note to self - set up video camera to tape PugHugger dragging Earl to her car - for Funniest Home Videos* No joke - he does the floppy boneless dog act - I had to push him across the carpet towards the door to get him out for a pee before bed - it was like trying to move a small hippo I can get Rosie to test his speed - she's pretty darn fast They will be so busy trying to work out what the hell Earl is he will slip under the radar
-
OK - finally back from holiday and checking in - took Rosie for a walk on Sunday - about half an hour - have our new pup who is still learning that a walk on a leash is good and can't walk long distances yet - so took him for 10 minutes around the block - then after tea took Rosie for about a 40 minute walk Feeling hot and sweaty - but satisfied - back to work tomorrow so will be up at 5.30 to walk Rosie - not really a prob as we have been up early all holidays - gee the sun comes up early in Queensland and pups are early risers too Will check back in tomorrow night - well done everyone - hope you feel happier soon Daisy ;)

Hi Ashley - it might sound like that but - rest assured - this is not the way it always is ;) Pete sounds like Rosie (my 18month old kelpie) - she can be in your face to other dogs and has spent the majority of the last couple of meets on leash - she still gets a chance to meet and play with other dogs but she has unreliable (ok - just about non existent *L*) recall and can be pushy to other dogs. There are some dogs that are a bit reactive and others that need a time out now and then - but there are also some that just run around and have a wonderful time - dogs are all different - as are their owners - but the wonderful thing about these meets is the fact that the owners are so supportive and understanding about the dogs - and keep an eye on each others dogs as well as their own. It would be great if they did all run around and play nicely while we sipped champagne and nibbled on canapes but they don't - they don't however brawl or fight constantly - there have been a couple of slobber and teeth incidents with Rosie - she then went back on leash for a while. We would love to meet you and Pete - we have a couple of us meeting on the 31st Jan to intro my new bloodhound pup to some other dogs - you are very welcome to come along to that on or to any of the other meets
-
I shall bring my camera - that should make for good photos
