  1. Good luck tomorrow with Bella - so Edward is showing a streak of that contrariness that Bloodhounds are known for then
  2. Good to read what everyone has been up to - I am finding it hard to get motivated at the moment - work is full on and the weather is realy hot - but - my son starts footy training next week so the dog and i will be able to do laps of the oval while he trains
  3. I had checked their list of select breeds and Bloodhound wasn't there - I also questioned them and wasn't happy with the response I got.
  4. Be aware with Petplan - I went to insure my Bloodhound pup as my kelpie is insured with them and he comes up as a select breed - therefore after 7 years I have to pay 65% - I am in the process of changing to PIA
  5. I haven't crate trained any of my dogs - the old dog sleeps on the couch at night with access to the outside - the other two sleep in our bedroom - the kelpie curls up in a corner of the walk in robe under a small table - we figure she feels safe and secure in there and likes the tight quarters (plus the pup can't get into the wardrobe so she gets peace) - so I suppose it acts like a crate for her - the pup sleeps in a dog bed at the foot of the bed or sleeps next to the bed. He has been the easiest to toilet train - I took him outside after meals and when he woke up and used the word "toilet" - he also had limited access in the house when we were home - he has had a couple of accidents and is now very good. So - I can see the advantages - but for me I just didn't
  6. Run free Reg - they obviously needed you at Rainbow Bridge "hugs" to you indigirl and to Regs owner
  7. Hang in there gorgeous boy - you have everyone on your side indigirl - you have been a true friend - well done
  8. It was good to see some new faces and catch up - Earl fell asleep on the way home and then inhaled his tea - so he had a good time Ashley - the kids weren't too bad - although between them they finished the whole bag of lollies *L*
  9. OK 4 o'clock it is - have messaged everyone in this thread I think - apologies if I missed anyone - will bring some snags, bread and soft drinks :D (and the dog)
  10. What about 4.00 then? That allows others to come a bit later and avoids the heat of the day
  11. OK - what the hell - I shall take the large wrinkly drooly beast for a romp anyway - he should enjoy the smells. I won't bring any snags but will be there about 12.30 if anyone would like to join me - I will have soft drinks and nibbles as my kids will be with me
  12. I would go along with an early evening meet I would like to intro Earl to some other dogs - the park is fairly shaded too..... any one else?
  13. I would say that 37 is too hot for people and their fluffies - will update the title to say it is cancelled
  14. It's funny - after training 2 dogs using check chains I used a martingale for Rosie (after reading about them on here) when I took her about a year ago and the instructor didn't know what it was
  15. to you Sam - you are very welcome to come along to any meet you want to - Rosie can always do with a cuddle from her aunty Sam
  16. Sending all of Roccos family condolences on the loss of this most beautiful and gentle boy who touched everyones life. Run free Rocco
  17. He is just beautiful - i love that colour
  18. Robbi - I can probably help out with a run up to the Riverland every so often - will catch you on Sunday about it
  19. Hijack away - it's good to see Edward and Bella Edward does look - shall we say - larger - than Earl I wish I had the camera tonight- i was trying to have a relaxing bubble bath - Craig is on nights so I left the bathroom door open - bloody Earl and Rosie both looked like they had a raging case of rabies - frothing at the mouth I tried to get Earl into puppy preschool - they wouldn't take him at petstock as he will be 15 weeks and is a big breed but he has been getting lots of socialisation and remains a smoochy boy He sits and waits until I say "You can eat" (well - most times - sometimes it takes a couple of goes ) - he is really good with his toilet training and he is walking really well on the leash. My kids at school are desperate to meet him so I will have to arrange for Craig to bring him in one day. Got all his stuff today so shall insure him So - all is going well - although all is quiet at the moment so shall have to go check out what he and Rosie are up to - hopefully sleeping as I am about to go to bed
  20. Took both the kelpie and the pup out tonight - training my 11 year old to help by walking the kelpie - he's not too bad
  21. Run free Buddy and watch over those who love you
  22. Took Rosie for a walk this morning - the kids came with us - we all enjoyed it and it was nice and cool
  23. He absolutely loved all of the attention he got from Jo too - he quite happily snuggled up to her for a cuddle Any more relaxed and he would be comatose We now have a motto for him - "I'm fed - I'm dead" due to his habit of passing out after eating his meal Really looking forward to him meeting everyone too
  24. Took Rosie for a 1/2 hour walk last night - my 11 year old son came with us. Was great except for the fool dog owner who let his dog off the leash as he walked in the gate of the school near (the one my kids go to) ignored the fact his dog took a huge dump and then sauntered over to retrieve it when it came bolting over to the gate as we passed. Rosie was great though - sat quietly while we waited for this guy
