We have Rosie the kelpie who was named by the kids - and Earl the bloodhound. His breeder had a Twilight theme but allowed us to choose his name, we wanted a bluesy name so his full name is Centitout My Name is Earl - after the TV show - figured they were pretty Southern

Run free gorgeous boy and know that you have touched the hearts and lives of many in such a special way.
-
Earl - Bloodhound - is notorious for eating stones and pet insurance will generally only pay out for one "ingestion of foreign object" - we fenced off all of the river stones in our back garden as the last resort - he would play with them and end up swallowing them.

Dogs Not Restrained In Moving Vehicles
MsKatie replied to Mystiqview's topic in General Dog Discussion
We bought the Kluger so we could transport the dogs safely ( amongst other reasons) and we use double ended leashes attached to the harness points - feel much better with them restrained properly. -
She would have been about 12 or 13 in that picture I think - she was a beautiful girl

Some gorgeous seniors Bonnie - our kelpie X with Rosie as a pup Peaches - my brothers boxer girl Clapton - our Staffy x - he was about 15 in this pic

Leaving Clam Shells With Water In Dog Runs
MsKatie replied to mantis's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ours have a clamshell in the corner under our shaded area - the kelpie likes to lie in it and the bloodhound always stands in it when he has a drink. We leave it out all the time and fill it regularly to about halfway. -
Mine still don't understand what pugs are all about - although given the reaction the bloodhound gets from some dogs ( WTF are you???????) I can understand the way pug owners feel She looks lovely - I agree with finding her som boxer buddies if possible - they can be quite unique in their play style
-
Thank goodness for crate training - I put my 2 in their crates at about 10.30 (usual bed tine is about 10 so they were keen to go) and apart from the kelpie barking a few times at midnight they were fine - her crate is in the walk in robe in our room so quite dark and secure. We had a few illegal ones going off but luckily none landed in our yard as one did last year

Have PMed you re. a thundershirt :)
-
We have fake turf and our dogs use it without a prob - it does get hot in the sun so if possible some shade on it would be a good idea.
-
Me too please
-
I feed twice a day since getting Earl - breakfast is anywhere from 5 - 7 and if it is holidays or weekends then we might all go back to bed afterwards. Dinner can be from 5 to 8 depending on schedule - ours don't seem too phased - the kelpie is pretty hyper 24/7 and the hound just gives us the usual sad face - which he has 24/7 .
-
Run free old girl - you had a wonderful life after a bad start and I know you we're so happy with Mark. You had the most gorgeous face that only a mother could love but somehow love you we all did - smelly breath and all. Loved and missed early by all - find Peaches at the Bridge sweetheart and wait there for those you loved.

Thanks piper - picked one up today and they still had lots left too - pity they didin't have the 12 kg bag of food I wanted but I had to buy some anyway so just got the 7.5
-
Excellent - will go in today and see if they still have them :)

Need To Find A Good Verterinary Surgeon
MsKatie replied to piperspal's topic in General Dog Discussion
That's a lovely offer, KHM. Piperspal's puppy could recuperate under Earl's ears. Thinking of you and your puppy, Piperspal. *LOL* He'd drown in the drool puddle - no problem with Earl's saliva collecting anywhere except on everything within a 100 m radius :) -

My 2 are pretty happy most of the time :) Earl can look miserable but that is just his normal facial expression :)
