It's disappeared into the folds of skin - and behind his big floppy ears and boofy head!!!!!!!

Photos of the muffin dog Sorry they are not so good - he wasn't real keen to pose - probably embarassed by what he was wearing In this one it seems to be hidden in the excess skin - plus he stuck his boofy head in front of it *sigh*

Just had to share this - bought new Kumalong harnesses for our dogs - a kelpie and a bloodhound - to make it easier to walk them together. Well - tried them on the dogs tonight - amidst great hilarity - first of all the kelpie was wearing hers upside down - until I read the instructions - and then after adjusting hers correctly I tried to put the bloodhounds on - OMG - what a laugh. He rolled over every time I tried to adjust the straps and then looked up at me with his big soulful eyes as if to say "Why are you putting me through this?" - meanwhile OH is killing himspef laughing at the spectacle - and when I finally had it adjusted correctly I was laughing so much no woder the poor dog looked offended - he has so much loose skin that it kind of oozes over the top of the harness and so it looks like he is being strangled around the chest by it - but there is plenty of room I mean the poor thing has muffin tops all over his body where the straps go Wil try them with them this weekend and see how they go walking on them - once I have stopped laughing. And I promise to post photos tomorrow

This is what was said about the termi turf we are getting laid down
-
I swapped my 2 from PetPlan to PIA with Medibank because of issues with the breed I have - long atory but Bloodhounds aren't in the restricted breed list but are still a restricted breed according to them - but I haven;t had to claim - touch wood - so can;t speak about that - I do feel better having them covered though
-
No worries Parkeyre will do - we are getting termi turf so it is quite pricey as it comes on large mats - so looking forward to not having a swamp out the back. we have a large undercover paved area so they can get off it in the shade easily - plus we have lots of shade

Hi all We are getting fake turf laid in our yard in a couple of weeks (doggies are having a nice holiday at the kennels while this happens) with a retaining wall and river stones along the edge. So looking forward to no more muddy dogs and runined carpets. anyway - point of this is - can you wonderful experienced dog owners reccomend some good dog toys for our kelpie and our bloodhound - we have a home alone dog toy which the kelpie loves Any treat balls or kongs are out of the question as the hound can be possesive over food and we don't want to instigate anything. So far have thought of - staffy ball - clam with sand in it for digging - plastic reel from the cable rolls (OH can get one of these from work - like huge plastic cotton reels) Also - a good walk each day and obedience training for both dogs (hopefully to get the kelpie into agility one day) So - any ideas - and - if so - any good stockists Thanks all - will post photos of the doggies in their new yard when it is all done

Omg Look At This Photo I Took Last Year
MsKatie replied to Bow Wow's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
to you - a beautiful photo to add to your memories of her -
My brother has a white boxer - he has one blue eye and one brown and he actually sourced him from NZ as he specifically wanted white Not my cup of tea but hey - to each his / her own He does have to sunscreen him every day :D
-
My staffy ate a family block of Macadamia nut chocolate - double toxins - by the time we got him to the vet he was losing the ability to stand - he was about 12 - luckily the vet was able to flush it out of his system
-
My ACD X methodically made her way through a plastic clam - one of her poos had blue plastic spiralled through it - all OH and I could say to that was "OUCH" - hope all goes well with Ruby
-
oopps - double post because my computer is slow and I am impatient
-
Never really had a humper - but I discourage it if it happens to my dogs from others - my male is fairly tolerant but even he has had enough sometimes and - as for the kelpie girl - she gets pretty snappy if it is even attempted. One of the dogs at the DOL meets does it to my boy (and others) and always seems to have this apologetic look on his face - he gets put on leash straight away and its become a kind of running joke at the meets
-
Apologies to Louie Pug Hugger - i think it was actually a conspiracy between he and Earl to ensure that you didn't trade Louie in for Earl - they were reminding you that Earl comes with strings attached (sorry - bad joke I know *L*)
-
Once again a great day - Earl had a ball and is currently snoring his big boofer head off on my chair - great to see everyone - loved the pugs and I think Earl really appreciated having Ruger to hang with - good luck with it all Heather - keep us up to date - and with how the puppies go :D
-
...and the rain should wash away the drool Be interesting to see what he thinks of the pugs
-
Earl has driven me insane for all of today so I bloody well hope it rains on him!!!!!!!! I have to go to Pauls footy anyway so I shall just rug up in several layers - will be there!!!

Ivan Will Only Eat Chicken Fillets
MsKatie replied to ruthless's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sorry to hear this ruth Run free Ivan -
We had a pool at our old house that my parents beagle fell into - we found him frantically paddling around unable to get out - since then our pools (both at that house and at our new one) have been securely fenced with NO dog access unless one of us in in the pool area with them
-
I have 2 crates in our bedroom for our dogs - the kepie has one in the walk in robe because she used to go and tuck herself in there at night anyway - the bloodhound has his under the window - because it's hugs and that was the only place it would fit! The kelpie tucks herself in when I go to bed at night - the hound comes in with OH - they only use them at night and they have been the best thing for us - we know they are safe and not wandering and they will whine to wake us if they need to go out
-
I have a bloodhound and a kelpie and they play together well - I agree with Hunterhound about the bloodhounds playing together - with Earl still being a puppy but weighting in at 51kg he can be a bit much for other dogs - and he does drool over every other dog he plays with - he loves to chase one of the mini schnauzers at our DOL meets (Actually he loves to chase both but only one likes to be chased by him ) He also tries to play with dogs of any size and I have to be aware of his size and his general bloody clumsiness *sigh* ....and that's what I said in my first post Souff - there are so many factors that contribute to a dogs personality and interactions with other dogs and pack structure - but my curiosity was piqued by the observation of breed purpose and those which work together They are gorgeous dogs Monah Come and meet Earl one day Great discussion everyone
-
Great information everyone Keep it coming

After reading a comment about dog breeds that are more likely to get along in multi dog situations - egs - beagles, gundogs - this has sparked my curiosity because I have never considered it in this way. So - wondering - are there breeds that are more suited for residing in multidog households? I know there are going to be examples and that each dog is an individual and that breeding and upbringing etc playa a part but - purely from a breed perspective I would love to hear peoples thoughts
