Thanks for the ideas ;) Think OH has gone in to work tonight to puzzle it out too ;)
-
Fence is a good idea - he doesn't tend to worry too much about that area so it might be enough to put him off ;)

The gorgeous boy in the first pic is Brock Was a lovely meet - pity Earl missed it ;) But there is always next time - great pics ;)

Ok - following on from my last post about Earl eating the river stones I would like to ask DOLers advice about what to replace them with - the vet suggested mulch or bark chips? The area is along the fence behind the retaining wall - it was really muddy before and the kelpie does zoomies along the fence after the local possum Piccies show where the stones are now - this is what we need to replace Thanks to those who made suggestions in the other thread ;)

Earl Ate A River Stone ...and It Got Stuck.......
MsKatie replied to MsKatie's topic in General Dog Discussion
I know - they are silly creatures - and apparently he won't link eating the stone with getting sick so will just go back and do it again The stones are around the edge of the yard and have the plastic under them so we were looking for something to stop them from doing zoomies along the fence line - thought the river stones would be ok ;) Will take ideas on board but will definitely be getting rid of the river stones ;) -
As those of you who know Earl already know he has been a bit curious about the river stones we have had put in our back yard - well - he threw up a small one this morning but just wasn't quite his normal exuberant self and would not touch food - even cheese - so I knew something was wrong . Sure enough - on the xray - very clearly can be seen a 4cm riverstone in the first part of his intestine. The vet operated and he is fine but - what a scare - it is a long weekend here in SA this weekend so thank goodness the 24 hour vet is just around the corner - and also thank goodness for pet insurance - quote for treatment etc is between $1800 and $2200 - and he will be kept in till Tuesday mroning so it may well go up. Our task over the next few days is now to move all of the river stones and replace them with bark chips or similar as the vet said that she has seen some dogs 3 or 4 times over for this sort of thing Thank you to all of the Adelaide DOLers at the meet this afternoon - it was nice to be with people who understood how I was feeling and how worried I was

Good response to an absolute tool -
Great day at the beach - except for the blo**dy sunburn
-
bloodhounds I swear the kelpie makes more noise than the bloodhound - and the only time he makes noise is when he is barking at her!! ETA - and he was one of the easiest dogs to house train contrary to the expected 4 - 6 months on consistent crate training
-
Our next meet is this Sunday coming up so I thought it was time to get a thread going about it Same place - same time I will bring snags, bread and sauce
-
Always knew there was a use for it - there had to be a reason they produce so bl**dy much of it!!
