  1. I'm with PIA for my 2 as well - have claimed twice - i for over $1500 - had some problems crop up with the direct debit but got that sorted ok. I left Petplan because when I got the Bloodhound they stated he was on their restricted breed list - which reduces cover after 8 years of age - I had checked their product disclosure for this info and Bloodhounds were not listed
  2. We have the thick rope toys - both the ball shaped and the bone shaped (not rubber but they do chew on them) - we also have nylabones and the hound has one that is like nylabone on the ends and the green rubber in the middle that he has in his crate at night - has lasted him a long time Another toy we have is a plastic reel that they use for cabling etc - the dogs love to push it around and chew on it - or a staffy ball?
  3. I have a coat for the heat that is made of towelling material that you wet and put on the dog - might be a thought - in fact - if you wanted it I am happy to send it over as mine don't use it
  4. Well done Kenzie - and well done to you ness for persevering with her and putting in all of the work you do And thanks to you for getting Steve over for the workshop - it really helped me with my confidence with Earl Glad things are going so well - thanks for sharing
  5. Very sneaky Frosty Rosie does the same thing with tennis balls - but she will lie about 5 feet away from you and look up at you while pushing the tennis ball towards you - incredibly cute but it still means I can't reach the ball and eventually she just methodically kills the ball
  6. :D Love the Frosty stories - can just picture them I suppose I will just have to persevere with my bitch face kepie (who really does have her cute moments) and leave Frosty in the capable hands of someone who doesn't fall prey to a pair of cute brown eyes and a Frosty grovel *LOL* PS - as for the farting - Rosie never, never, never acknowledges that the horrible and loud noise just heard came from her dainty little butt
  7. +1 She can come and sleep on my bed Bet she doesn't snore as much as Earl!
  8. Well that totally explains her bitchiness
  9. Love the descriptions! The black greyhound is mine, Polly Lovely photos of them all too Oh good - I got it right :D She was just adorable
  10. No complaints about it? do you think the material will deteriorate at all if its constantly installed in the car? my last one was good at first but the waterproof lining on the bottom has deteriorated and crumbled after only a few months use Mine seems to be pretty tough plastic and has held up well - I have left it up in the car for a while and it doesn't seem to show any deterioration - but the lack of holes for tethers - while I can see the reasons - is a pain. My Bloodhound loves it though and will happily lie down on it while travelling - but am looking for ways to restrain him more securely - bit paranoid now Does it have zips on both sides of the 'door'? its a bit hard to tell how its secured by the photos It has a zip on both sides of the door that allow the 'flap' on that side to be pulled down to let the dogs in - it is secured by straps around the back seat headrests and the front seat headrests - these are adjustable :D Hmm, so the only way to secure the dogs would be by the anchor points right? because you cant access the seatbelts or latch bars? That's right - so in my MAzda 6 hatch I would have to use the anchor points at the bottom of the back of the back seat

  12. Could I combine the pet buckle harness and the kwik connect tether to secure my 55 kg Bloodhound - I am willing to put holes in the back seat buddy :D

  14. I liked that one too but it was for a seat belt link - oopps - just looked closer - no it isn't - may have to invest in one of these ones- still looking around - it is amazing the things they have out there for dogs :D I don't think I could fit a crate for Earl in the back of my car - my fault for buying a small pony *L* ETA - just had a look at my car and i have the latch bars - learning something new every day The best way i think for Earl might be to fold down the back seat and use a ute tether to attach to the anchor point - gives him more room and secures him too Thank you all for such an illuminating thread - off to look up ute tethers now
  15. This might be a goer - it's a leash for the active walker belt - double ended links Active Walker Lead will adjust from 0.8 metres to over 1.5 meters. Fits active walker belt. Lead only belt is not included. http://www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/active_walker_2
  16. Will let you know when I find them :D Am hunting around now
  17. I have the Running Dog BAck seat cover and that protects the doors as well - although the windows are still covered in drool regularly. I am planning to get the anchor point tethers for mine to attach to their harnesses as the seatbelts are covered
  18. Check out k9pro for muzzles Have ordered one from there Bully Sent an email to see if Steve recommended the basket or the clear plastic - have ordered the basket but happy to change it depending on his recommendations
  19. And Pele got very upset when you moved the ute/food supply didn't she? Yeah that was hilarious! And Rosie was a bit pathetic wasnt she? Poor girl wasn't happy with her muzzle. Hannibal Kelpie SHe did pretty well today though - should be better with the new muzzle next time
  20. That would be mine Will get it from you at the next meet
  21. I'll bring something sweet I think - still have choccies left
  22. Very low key for food - just some small nibbles eg. chips or something similar
  23. My kelpie is pretty nervy anyway so really didn't like the fireworks - races up and down the fence at the back - this in turn hypes up the bloodhound who chases her trying to get her to play with him - which in turn means she gets annoyed and snaps at him. Going to work on desensitisation this year as we are going out next year.
