We have terra cotta floors in the living areas, a half timber fly screen door on the back, this has a dog door in it. We also have another dog door in a built in part of our back verandah, this goes out to a small grassed run for when we are not home. This area also holds our dog crates. We have stables that have been turned into a dog area, I have a feed area out there, no sink unfortunately but a great bench with cupboard (towels and blankets) underneath, a 500ltr chest freezer and a fridge. So lucky to have this. If I was going to build I would have a 'nice lounge room' and a doggie lounge room. Oh and my house suffers from snotty windows too.

Crib Stop or Oil of Cloves. Both these dogs hate, many times I have painted furniture legs with oil of cloves.

May last year just before his 12th birthday I had to PTS my heart dog. A dog that I adored. Mentally he was fine but physically not. He had bone cancer. He told me he was ready but that really did not make it easier. It just made me cry more. I cried and cried, questioned what I had done but in the end I knew I had made the right decision. I looked at pictures of him. Talked to my OH and friends about him. I still feel his presence every now and then, maybe that is wishful thinking, who knows. It took a while to come to terms with him gone and every now and then I still have a cry for him. Lots of hugs for you. Cry and remember his good days and the good times you had together. Laugh when you remember something funny he did. He will always be with you watching from above. He is part of you, a lovely part of your heart.

I used to till I got my hydro bath. Hydros come in handy for humans too. When we had no power because of the bushfires, my OH rigged up a shower over the hydro, we have a small hot water system next to it and ran that with the genny. Tarp as a shower screen and bobs your uncle.

Gorgeous little staffy. Interesting kennel name. Most of my Rottweilers have Brohez behind them.

Yes, he is an Ash baby, from his last litter. I had no intention of getting one but when Ash was diagnosed with bone cancer, I put my order in straight away. Very glad that I did.

Love his head. Well you loved his Daddy, so I'm pretty sure you will love Rave too.

Might get out in the ring with this boy sometime in Autumn. He is 8.5 mths old. Call name Rave

I use yoga matting from the $2 shop. I cover all of the whelping box and put newspaper on top of that then bedding. It is lovely and comfy for the bitch.

We use yoga matting then bedding on top of that. I do have one bitch who is destructive so she has carpet tightly fitted instead of bedding.

Merry Christmas Troy, also have a great New Year

All sounds like a very good idea but there is a part of me that screams control over breeders. What does everyone else think?

Just going by my experience, I purchased the semen. Owner of the semen wrote a letter stating they had sold me the semen and therefore I was the current owner. When my bitch had pups and they were to be registered, I signed the stud part of the form as I was the legal owner of that semen. Hope this helps. This is how it is done in Vic.

Very interested in this topic. Does anyone know where I can get kangaroo in Victoria?

Purina's "information" On Feeding Bones To Dogs
laneka replied to Whippetsmum's topic in General Dog Discussion
I switched over to BARF about a month ago and feed raw meaty beef bones and chicken carcasses. All but one of my dogs line up for their food and they look fantastic. I have one bitch who will not eat meat and veges, nor will she eat chicken carcasses. Yes we have starved her for a week then caved in. She is very happy on her meat and dry with a beef bone every second day. This bitch thinks I am going to poison her if I offer her yoghurt. Anything different in her bowl and she walks away. She has me beat. -
And her daughter

Just after she had been bathed.

Went to complete the poll but as all the dogs are desexed, I can't. I show my dogs and occassionally breed.

Try some oil of cloves from the chemist. It is the same stuff they use in tooth ache drops. It makes the mouth go numb. I paint this on furniture to stop pups chewing. I found it works a treat
-
Done, but found a lot of the questions I had to answer in the 'other' box. Look forward to seeing the results.

I dont think it does Thanks Flaves

If you are a registered breeder then all live pups must be registered. Correct me if I am wrong, in Vic pups do not have to be microchipped before 12 weeks of age. I have had litters that I have not chipped because they do not have much muscle and the chip can move, does that make me unethical?

Sometimes putting poop in their holes does not work. I have a 3 year old Rott and she will dig anything. She is not a dirty girl but her or others poop put in a hole does not stop her.
