Does Anyone Feed Tongue To Their Dogs?
laneka replied to Garden Girl's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I'd love to be able to get hold of some green tripe. I've heard that by law it has to be bleached Here's an article on the benefits of Green Tripe Ring abbatoirs and knackeries. They might be able to do some green tripe for you. Where I am going to get it from, they are going to mince it for me. Just read that article, I am definately going to get some. Thanks for that and good luck in your quest for green tripe. -
Does Anyone Feed Tongue To Their Dogs?

Mmmmm, must ask my dog meat man. I have just enquired about green tripe and am going to order some when I put my next order in. They say it is brilliant for dogs. I must admit, I think both tongues and tripe are rather yukky. -
Peter, some Rottweilers do suffer from growing pains, can't remember the proper name either. This normally happens in the rapid growth period and is normally over by the time the dog is 12 months old. As I said normally, there are exceptions to the rule. I use glucosamine and fish oil, on youngsters and oldies.

Using the Bunning metal bins here too. Rats chewed through the heavy duty plastic one. Also have food grade 44 gallon drums with lids for longer storage . All beasty proof.

Ashkevron is mine. Can you add it please. -
I have a desexed Rott bitch who has done her ACL and because of limited exercise tends to put on weight. I put her on a diet of minced mixed veges and fruit and lean minced beef. This girl puts on weight when I feed her raw lean meaty bones. No dry food at all.
-
We only exercise in the late afternoon or early evening. We get out of bed at 4.30am as it is. Just makes it easier for us to do it then.

which bones have you tried? All beef, lamb and chicken bones. All have the same result. This has only happened for the last year and a half. I guess it is just him getting old. He cannot tolerate some dry foods or fat. I feed him EP Holistic and lean beef. He gets 2x4 dog bikkies. So as a treat he gets pigs ears.

I have a 9.5 year old Rottweiler who cannot tolerate nice raw meaty bones. He gets very gassy and vomits a lot after eating them. He gets a pigs ear when the others have a bone. Anyone got any better suggestions?

General rule of the thumb is, wait 1 hour after exercise before feeding and do not exercise for 2 hours after feeding.

Try painting anti nail biting stuff around the sore. Not on it but around it. It will taste bitter when licked.

Rest in Peace beautiful Sophie. You and your loving owner fought long and hard. Your outlook on life saw you looking up and to take it all head on. Run free now Sophie, have fun rolling in the lovely green grass at the bridge. to you Anne, just remember she is with you always.
-
Dear Anne, This has been a long and painful journey for you. You have provided Sophie with the best care that anyone could give. I know that you would not have come to this decision lightly. My thoughts, prayers and love are with you both. Sophie will run free without a care and she will be waiting for you. Heart dogs stay around forever watching over their loved ones. Love Sue and Ash.

:p Anne, I do not know what to say other than keep on doing what you are. Sending heaps of love and hugs to you both.

Congratulations on your year Sophie and Anne. I love reading how she is going. I, like you, am very proud of this girl, she is a 1 in a million girl. Hugs and kisses for Sophie.

Oh Anne, she is simply amazing isn't she? There really is something very very special about Sophie. You have definately done the right thing taking her off her chemo drug. She looks lovely in her photo. Yes lost a bit in her face but what does one expect. She is too alive right now and I think you will have her longer than another 3 weeks. Keep up the great work and cheer up, your fur babies need you.

Nekhbet, I am sorry to read about Diesel, hopefully he will bounce back again. Rotts are very strong minded when it comes to pain. Hugs to you and Diesel. CavNrott, so happy to read that Sophie is holding her own. She really is an amazing girl.

I have an old dog on EP Holistic and will so change to Artemis. 4 on Bonnie Working and pups on Proplan. I am happy with these foods. I also feed lean raw beef.
-
That is one statement I whole heartedly agree with. Another would have put Sophie in the too hard basket. Keep up the fantastic work Anne.

That is brilliant, so glad the onco is willing to try it your way. Love to Sophie.

Oh I so hope this works for Sophie. I gather it is from the Natural Chemist you mentioned. Please keep us posted and thank you for the update on our beloved Sophie.
