  1. Let's put it this way, it would not hurt to have her checked. Chances are she is okay but if not you would never forgive yourself.
  2. Hello SB, I have had Rotts for a very long time and have only heard of a couple of cases of SAS. It is quite common in the US but as far as I know not here. I am so sorry your baby has this. Have you gone back to the breeder? Surely they can help you with information. I know that if one of my pups was diagnosed with an heritary condition I would want to know. Have you googled SAS, that might help you with the information you are after. I am sorry I have not helped, hugs to your girl.
  3. I use Artemis, it is a premium holistic dry food. www.artemispetfood.com.au My dogs have never looked better and now have so much energy.
  4. Fingers crossed that Mikki is preggers, if she is she is due on the 23rd Nov. She is having her ultra sound on the 22 Oct. Need puppy dust.
  5. Just cut down the amount you are feeding in each meal and keep to two meals a day. Most dogs do better on this way of feeding. Even if the brekky is tiny it is still something in their tummy. In saying that I always feed equal amounts morning and night.

    Rottweiler

Excellent Allerzeit, could not have done better.
  7. So glad to hear she is well and her ops were a success. A good vet is worth their weight in gold.
  8. I got mine from Pet Goods Direct. My old dog is grain intolerant and the Artemis Maximal is grain free. I have my other dogs on the Artemis Adult and when they go in work I will change them over to Power.
  9. I have just changed my dogs over to Artemis. I had one on Evo ($150) for 13kg bag and the others were on Proplan. Already I can see the difference in their coats and they are just happier.
  10. Pawprints, I am so sorry to read this about Tealc. Hope you get the right help at the right price.
  11. Rottylover01, I am glad you started this thread as I will have to make a decision like that soon. My 10year old Rott has a growth in the corner of his eye. According to my vet it is nothing to worry about but if it gets to the stage where it is annoying my boy then he will remove it. I am not looking forward to that time but having read your story, do not feel so bad. Thanks
  12. My heart is with you Chewie at this sad time. I hope Elliot goes peacefully tonight in your arms. Both of you deserve that. God speed Elliot and wait for your Mummy at the bridge
  13. C3 puppy vaccs, then again at 12mths. No heartworm treatment. Don't have a problem with fleas and intestinal worming every 6 months. I feel that most people pump to many chemicals into dogs. Oh, my vet agrees with me.
  14. I too have an oldie who cannot tolerate bones of any description any more. He bloats, chucks and does cowpats. Now I only give him beef hide bones and pigs ears. I feel so sorry for him as he is missing out. Yes, I have tried them all but to no avail.
  15. Just came across this then so glad to read that Mack is recovering. Hopefully he will fully recover and have no side effects. Just back to being a normal Rott with a great sense of humour. and a for Mack.
  16. Have you got one of these too. Mine is on my fridge
  17. Here is my new baby, Name: Jay (VonderZenn Jays Illusion) Sex: Male Age: 10 weeks Colour: Black and Tan Breed: Rottweiler Loves: being ignorant and copying everything his Great Grandsire does. Playing in his pool, eating and playing with his toys.
  18. I use blankets and towels. I found with vetbed the pups snuffle it and think it is mum.
  19. Excellent BB, thank you for post this. I also have learnt a lot by reading what you have done, just incase I need it. So pleased that he came through this, he is such a cute little boy.
  20. Thanks, a Proplan rep contacted me through PM's. I have the info I need.
  21. I feed frozen bones all the time in summer. Sort of like a meaty icypole. The dogs love it.
  22. I have used Proplan on and off for a couple of years. I have an older dog with a sensitive stomach and had been feeding him EP Holistic. I have just started him on the Salmon for sensitive stomachs so it will be interesting how he goes.
  23. I have heard that the only way a dog can get the nutrition from a carrot is if the carrot is pulverised. Apparently they are very good for dogs.
