Thanks Guys, looks like it will be the vent closers. This is a just in case senario. It is the walls of the trailer that sucks in the water, because of the good airflow the spinners create. Don't want wet doggies again or their bedding.
-
Thank you for all your replies. The reason is we are heading north in a couple of weeks (Newcastle area), we have been caught in torrential rain before and dogs did get wet from the spinners drawing in air from the vents on the body of the trailer. We thought if we can block off the air flow a bit, the rain would not be sucked in as much. It is a just in case thing. My husband has already tried the nut tightening but it did not stop them spinning. Thought there might have been another way.

Does anyone know how to stop dog trailer spinners from spinning?
-
Thank you so much, will give her a call and see if she does my area. If not will try one of the others. Poodlemum, George is just too old now to do big dogs. He was fantastic in his day. Thanks anyway.

I know this has been done to death before but I cannot find it even when I do a search. I need names of chiropracters in Melbourne and surrounding areas please. Puppy with a slight limp and my normal one has a shattered wrist.

I have a Rotty bitch here who came into season at 4mths. It was a three day season, came back into season at 7mths (a proper season) as has been every 6mths ever since. She has whelped two litters. I think it is just an early hormonal thing.

Melbourne - Who Would You Use For Frozen Ai
laneka replied to Stolzseinrotts's topic in Breeders Community
As above, the reason is success rate. Ludendorf used Michael Bell for her Utz semen and had a good success rate. Apparently there is a woman in Bendigo who is very good too and has a good success rate with Greyhounds. I can find out her name if you wish. -
Melbourne - Who Would You Use For Frozen Ai
laneka replied to Stolzseinrotts's topic in Breeders Community
Stolz, my last litter was from froz imported semen. Michael Bell, Craigieburn. Mikki had 6, 5 survived. Very happy there. -
Dr. Michael Bell, Craigieburn Vet. I know a long way from you. He is an hours drive from me. I have used him for a fresh semen AI. Two AI's resulting in 15 pups. 12 survived.

A lot of the time in my breed the smallest often ends up the tallest. I have seen this quite a few times. My guess it depends on the breed.

A large freezer is the only way to go when you have more than 2 larger dogs. That way you can buy in bulk and save you the trouble of going out all the time after dog food. Also good for when human food is on special. 50kg of meat lasts me about 3 weeks and so do the bones. 10 eco loaves lasts me about a month. Because I live about an hours drive from the eco factory, buying 10 loaves at a time saves me a lot of time. Don't think I could live without one now. We purchased a commercial freezer as we could not get a domestic on big enough. I wanted a cnest as you can get bigger things in it.
-
That is exactly why we went out and brought a 500ltr chest freezer, by the time I pack 50kg meat, 40kg bones and 10 ecopet loaves there is not much room left for us.

What Meat Do You Give Your Dog/dogs?
laneka replied to Sam the man's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Mine get lean minced beef. I get it from a knackery who only do their own kills. No sick animals used at all. I also use ecopet and Artemis. Meat and Ecopet for the old dog and mince, ecopet and Artemis for the others. -
She could have a touch of puppy vaginitis. A week on cranberry tablets from the health food shop should fix her up. If you are worried take her to the vet.
-
I too have done matings at the park. More for convenience sake.
-
I think they are great. You're very clever making those. I think they will be a fantastic prize. A big from me.
-
If you have a big enough freezer you could go and buy them in bulk. Also if you have an ABN # you get a huge discount. They freeze and thaw well. I don't have an ABN but I do buy 10 loaves at a time. Cut them in half, put a small freezer bag over the cut end and freeze.

I'm with you on this one TT, I vacc at 6, 12 and 16 weeks. Pups don't go to dog areas till 14 weeks but I do take them out to socialise beforehand. I only ever use a C3 as the 4 and 5 are for KC. Seeing as there are so many strains of KC and we can only vacc against 2, why bother wasting you money.

I have an old Rottweiler, 11 years old. He cannot tolerate dry food or bones anymore and I have him on EcoPet loaf and fresh meat. He is thriving. I do go to the factory to purchase them. A bit cheaper that way. I have PM'd the address for you.

They are the most wonderful photos. I love it when the dog and cat play together. We used to have a burmese (who thought he was a Rottweiler). The fun they would have and they both adored it. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face.

I just flew two pups to WA, made sure they went late in the arvo, because of heat. Used All Creatures and they make sure the pups/dogs have water. Pups bounded out of their crate, no worse for wear. I was very wary but all good and I really cannot complain. Have also sent a pup to NZ used All Creatures and pup arrived happy and safe.

Of course there are pedigreed dogs in pounds but I'll bet not half as many as crosses. Okay, I have not read all of this thread, will go back and do so. I came in on the height of a Rott. This is my feelings re crosses. 1. a lot do make wonderful pets 2. they are too indiscriminately bred 3. too many are pts because they are not wanted for one reason or another 4. too easy to obtain - cheap 5. if there must be crosses then they should only be bred at proper well kept/housed kennels by council registered breeders, limiting their numbers. Desexed before going to new homes. Bitches can have tubal ligation and dogs vasectomy. So no major surgery. Sounds harsh but like all the moggies(cats) who pump out the kittens there are far too many being bred for a quick buck or the owners are too damm lazy to desex. Far too many being pts, because of a whim, which makes me very very angry and sad. Poor dogs, they do not ask to be born and should have a right to be well looked after and loved. Edited to say, I also believe that pedigree breeder should have a limit on how many litters they bred per year too.

Ooops, didn't pick the third dog as I thought it was a siggy. Glad I got one right. Cosmolo, I was using the Rottweiler as an example. There are a lot of dogs out there that look purebred but are not. Some have the characteristics of an ancestor and therefore is mistaken for a purebred. Without a pedigree, how do you know for absolute sure that it is infact a purebred dog.
-
To me they look like the same dog, one a pup and the other pic as an older dog. I would go for the one on the right if I had to pick. Bet I'm wrong. I know and understand exactly what you are saying. The Rottweiler gets blamed for everything. The dog in question only has to be big and black and tan and he is labeled a Rottweiler. Some do not even have Rottweiler in it but because of this sort of labelling, our breed suffers.
