  1. I haven't bought bone meal in many many years, but I used to buy it for my race horses from a stock feed store, you could buy it by the kg back than but these days I don't know. You could try them.
  2. Tiles here with mats in front of the chairs and beds so that Smooch doesn't slip when jumping up on them.

Some people just don't have any brains. It is just disgusting, hope they get the event stopped in future.

It was on today tonight http://au.todaytonight.yahoo.com/video scroll down to the 17th story on the left side. (Children's lives put at risk for the entertainment of adults, it's the wildest ride in the wild west.)

  6. I have had some drown in water troughs as well, Now I put a piece of timber in the trough and no more drowned birds.
  7. Lovely pics, I also love the last two the best.
  8. Stunning. You have done a great job with the pics.
  9. We have had the same problem with our dogs that live outside. So far all the repellents we have used need to be reapplied several times a day and that is not a option. What has worked for us is applying heavy grease to the ears. The down side is that the dirt sticks to it.
  10. Glad to hear the they are doing much better. Hope Bonnie is feeling better soon.
  11. If ringlock is used just be careful there is no horses that can get close to the fence. A horse can easily get a foot through it and cause a lot of damage to itself.
  12. Yes go through heaps of tissues every time I watch it.
  13. You can try your local Saddlery repair shop. eg. Horseland and Saddleworld in my area all stock it.
  14. I had a dog that would start to bark as soon as you took the static bark collar off her so I than decided on one of these. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Ultrasonic-Bark-Sto...=item4a9c218edb Pretty useless as a bark collar but the dog thought the other collar was on and it did the job.
  15. I have the same problem with smooch, tried the E collar and all he did with that was keep bashing it into my leg. The problem is that Smooch only licks when he is relaxed but not when he is under stress. I finally decided on a plastic muzzle which he wares to bed of a night. After 3 years I finally got it healed, left the muzzle off one night and he has started it all over again. Get the vet check and good luck with it.
  16. With Smooch it was a 24/7 effort for months on end, my daughter and I would go shopping we would have to take Smooch with us, one would go get what we needed and than the other. In hot weather we would have to do our shopping of a night. My life was completely re arranged around Smooch but it has really been worth the effort.
  17. Smooch suffered a severe case of FCE 3 years ago at the age of 6, I had him to the vet within 5 min of it happening, he was transferred to specialist center in Sydney within 24 hours where he remained for about 6 weeks. When Smooch came home (He was still unable to stand) I had to do exercises several times a day and night but after nearly 12 months he was getting around pretty well. He still has problems, when he jumps onto the bed he drags one back leg up. He doesn't pee until he is full. Pooing is also a bit of a problem, he has to be moving around whilst doing it and he has to have Psyllium Husk mixed in his dinner for the poo to be coated so it will pass easier. As Smooch was used to sleeping in bed with me I bought a old lounge/bed put a heavy black plastic on it under the sheets. I lost count how many times I had been piddled on but in the end smooch is now getting around and is happy even though one back leg doesn't work properly. He is happy and that is the most important thing.

  19. I copied this from another forum. Please share this with all the pet owners you know and ask them to do the same. This information will only take a few minutes to share might prevent the senseless death of other pets. Please tell every dog or cat owner you know. Even if you don't have a pet, please pass this to those who do. Cocoa Mulch, which is sold by Target, Foreman's Garden Supply and other garden supply stores contains a lethal ingredient called 'Theobromine'. It is lethal to dogs and cats. It smells like chocolate and it really attracts dogs. They will ingest this stuff and die. Several deaths already occurred in the last 2-3 weeks. Although the mulch has NO warnings printed on the label, upon further investigation on the company's web site, this product is HIGHLY toxic to dogs and cats.
