  1. Hi aussielover, I taught 2x2 with a squeaky ball and a ball on a rope because 1 of my dogs don't tug at all and the other doesn't think its the absolute bees knees like her squeaky ball and food. I chose not to use food for teaching 2x2 weaves because it was harder to see and because I would go through truckloads! The ball worked well for me, so just go with what your dog loves most and what works for you
  2. The picture makes the big one's colours look a bit off. The colours are bright green and bright pink with brown. Looks better in real life.
  3. On ebay, couldn't find round rings in Bunnings or sewing shops! They are 1 inch curtain rings.
  4. Yes its a little ripper! Was really easy to download...just copied and paste Did you finally pick up a video camera where it saves to a memory card that you just shove in your computer? :D Love mine!!!
  5. Thanks, guys! She's a smart little cookie, full of spunk, too Scissors I was out doing some retrieving training this afternoon with SparkyTansy and she left her massive bundle of long line rope for her Lulu on the ground. I sent Ruby to retrieve a dummy, but she deviated and went to pick up this huge bundle of rope. I should have moved it, but couldn't help but laugh as she struggled to pick it up, persevered, then came bounding back with this heavy load, oh so proud of herself
  6. I'm about to head out with my girls to do some training so will watch your video when I get back bedazzled! But before I go I thought I'd share a video of 13 week old Pippa the miniature schnauzer in her first shaping session to put her paws on a little box on the floor
  7. At about 9 weeks old, Ruby sniffed her first wing and loved it. It was however, a Red Rooster wing that also accompanied chips and coleslaw :p That was the last time she ever got near my dinner!!
  8. Brilliant! I've seen it before but cracks me up every time! The dog should really lose the outfit, though
  9. Agility is at Gosnells again. You should come down if you're free Mum is going to bring Pippa down tomorrow for a little bit, her first real outing
  10. RV, you coming to training on Monday? I have your DVD for you Agility and Games trial on Saturday, agility seminar Sunday morning! Though I have to leave the seminar early because I forgot I had booked myself in for something at my sister's ages ago so have to honour that. Don't want to completely lose my 50 bucks I paid for the seminar so I plan to go for at least some of it
  11. I think I love the yellows best because you can so clearly see every facial expression, it's harder with the chocs and blacks to see the cute facial expressions they pull! And they photograph so much easier! I longed for a yellow Lab long before I got one, so I think they'll forever be my favourite I love the orange/white Brittany's and orange belton English Setters over the darker ones. I guess I just like a light coloured dog! If I ever get an Aussie, I want a merle colour over a tri because they are lighter And when I was interested in getting a Beagle, I wanted a lemon or orange and white over a tri colour. And to just totally contradict myself, in mini schnauzers, the black are my favourite, not keen on the other "lighter" colours.
  12. That first photo reminds me of the look Ruby gives me all the time
  13. Uh oh, somebody is a digger! Millie loves the beach, she digs to her hearts content! Though she would prefer to dig holes in my garden over the clamshell sandpit I had lying around for her!
  14. I think they call it gaiting? Get him used to getting his tail trimmed, too! I've been trimming the end of Ruby's tail in a rounded "otter" shape since she was a puppy, looks nicer than the pointy end. Millie won't really let me near hers, so I only get the very tip so it doesn't look the same! But then again, her tail isn't very "otterish" while Ruby's is so I don't think it would really help her! I remember a Labrador showie trimming Ruby's tail for me at 3 months old, the little wriggly worm wouldn't stand still PF - your baby whippet is gorgeous! ST - I think Boxagirl wanted to come, too.
  15. Great photos of your babies, ST! 11am sounds good to me. And the idea of each bringing a plate of food sounds good, mini picnic at RV's! Last time we did that at that place in Murdoch (I forget the name now) it was great fun! But we sure did have an abundance of food
  16. Oooh that's just a little bit fancy! Great work
  17. I just came across one of your training videos with Booker and he's a gorgeous puppy! Falling over his clumsy puppy paws doing rear end awareness! How cute!
  18. Will it fit Pippa? Bummer, though! Can we see a pic of it anyway? I made Chloe a jacket about a month ago and told her this better be worth my time and effort! She only got 3-4 weeks or so worth of wear out of it, but it was worth it I kept it, too.
  19. Yep, A-Frame. It used to be tunnel, but with a tunnel under the A-Frame, both dogs opted for the A-Frame.... just goes to show that the most rewarded obstacles are the favourites! Tunnels don't get rewarded but they are more fun than jumps so suck them in, but Tunnel vs A-Frame, A-Frame wins! I was so embarrassed a few weeks ago. There were 3 jumps in a row at the start with an A-Frame off to the far right after the 3rd jump (but it wasn't part of the course until like number 14 or something). BOTH dogs when released from start line, made a bee-line for the A-Frame without even negotiating the jumps in front of them But I can't expect any less, I don't really train much and when I do, I don't really know what I'm doing I think it's called the "point and pray" handling system
  20. Does she do coffee? Cos I'm not a tea drinker :p I could always make brownies or something :D Might make some for the state obedience trial the night before so I could always make double.
  21. It's turning into one big puppy party Shall we order in some catering?
  22. OK I have the 25th in my diary :D What time?
