  1. Yep I have a little adventurous explorer puppy and havn't started recall training yet Me too... Mine has no recall... not even in the backyard Pippa isn't too bad in the house. And her name makes it so much easier! All I have to say is "Pip Pip!!" in a high pitched voice (which is easy to do with a name like that) and she comes running. But outside with other doggies, don't think I could compete
  2. Is that an offer for a puppy play date at your place at some stage? :p I hope Rosie is ok!
  3. The DVD has a few bits I don't agree with either, but on the whole, I was quite impressed with the level of detail and drills/tips they showed us, and it was a lot more "positive" than I was expecting being a US DVD I really enjoyed it! And have watched it twice now and watching the drills back when I get a spare second to let it try and sink in Oh no what happened?!?!?!?! Hope he is ok! Pippa is miss ninja pants and would be off in a shot! Though she does love other dogs, she adores my 2, so she might not leave the other dogs alone long enough to take off, but I still won't risk it
  4. Sorry to CC who hasn't met Pippa yet, but I really think I will leave her home. She's only a baby with no recall yet so I don't want to be putting her in an area so large that requires recall abilities. I can bring my girls along for your puppies if you want but understand if you'd prefer the adult Labs stay home. Sorry RV. Your property sounds really great and would be an awesome romp for my adult Labs!!! Just not for a baby small breed especially when she isn't mine. I think an enclosed backyard would be good so we can tee it up at some stage
  5. I submit photocopies, too. Good thing you took copies of your first 2 when you did, then!
  6. Is there any part of your yard that is "escape" proof? Or another place we could go that is enclosed? Now that you've told me the boundary fences are just wire, I don't think I'm going to bring Pippa, sorry guys. Keeping her on lead with puppies tearing about wouldn't be fair (or easy!) and she isn't my dog so if anything were to happen.... If anybody wants to come to my place at some stage for a puppy play date, you are more than welcome. I only have a small yard but it is fully enclosed. I would like for Pippa to have a play with a few puppies at some stage
  7. Ours was a bit of a reject Yorkie His coat never grew, and his legs were way too long! And only ever had the one descended testicle, and for a small dog, his package was YUUUUGE!
  8. You'd better make it I'm looking forward to meeting dinky Pippa :D OK I'll be there :D If the crowd has died off a bit I will bring my girls as well. I was going to leave them at home when the puppy play date started turning into a party so I wanted to focus all my attention on wee Pippa. But I will now bring them, too. They are both great with puppies if Pippa is anything to go by. They tolerate puppies until they get VERY annoying and then just voice their digust at them. But they are both kind of nigels, will go and do their own thing most of the time! We used to have a dog named "Dinky" :p He was a Yorkie.
  9. I hear they had hail...Cider got 2 CDX passes and Scoota won UD Heard the news too, how awesome for Ptolomy :D
  10. Congrats Beth and Lottie on your CCD!! Wooohoooooo!! Congrats on another pass, SLLH!! Yay! That's strange about asking permission to video Hope the guys at the Bunbury trial today are doing well. It's a shockingly wet and windy day today!! (plus side, at least it's not hot I'd rather trial in the rain than a hot day). So glad I'm inside and rugged up, though!
  11. I should still be making it with Pippa, unless it really dies off! Could use a weekend at home for once to clean
  12. Awesome!! Maybe I will have to block out my calendar for that one
  13. Would be great to find a partner who would be interested in the retrieving and camping weekends. I could justify buying a campervan then! And about the poo eating, yes I have a dog who does it and no amount of growling at her, or tricks such as pineapple in the food makes her stop People swear by the pineapple in the food, I also read about putting seaweed powder in the food, neither worked for me. Even switching to a raw diet didn't work. Good luck! :p
  14. Lovely topics we discuss But I agree, I hate the pit loo, espeically when you're there for more than a day (without going into detail ). Just to continue with this lovely topic, I don't have a problem with pit toilets cos I don't actually SIT on it. And after hearing this story about it starting to fall into the hole, I definitely won't this time! I have issues with peeing in the bush from a horrible experience on year 7 camp. Actually, it was 2 horrible experiences on the one camp! If I had complete privacy I could do it, but you just never know when someone is going to walk by Yup,TMI to be sharing on a public forum! But oh well
  15. $40 postage?! Well if you ever order the book and want to sell it on, dibs! :D
  16. Pippa is annoying the poo outta my girls but Ruby is now playing with her heaps, even though she likes to nip at their tails and legs!! I wore a skirt to work yesterday for the first time in MONTHS, and then it rained But it wasn't cold so it was all good! I don't think we'll be training today ST. Weather isn't the best and I have some shopping and eye test to do this arvo. Can't do next Friday, either But we'll catch up again soon!!
  17. That's the only one on the list I don't have. Stupid time zones, everyone else had beaten me to it while I was sleeping!
  18. BC are you looking to sell them privately? if you are, is there any chance you could pm me a list? i have been looking for some, but find most of the good ones can only be bought from the USA and postage costs a mint! I'd be interested, too
  19. I don't get a chance to help out much during the season as it's a long way to go when you aren't trialling, so I like to do the Arthur River weekend instead so I can help out over the whole weekend. Helping is great as you do learn so much!
  20. And just in case you took offence, didn't mean it that way. Just replying to wuffles observation that the other way is ugly if not done right so best to do behind the back if you can't do the other one... and I was merely saying that either have the potential to be ugly My turns are probably the worst
