Absolutely stunning! :D I'd love to see Scoota's UDX round.... never get a chance to really sit and watch UDX, or UD for that matter. Always too stressed with my own dogs to concentrate on other rings Edit: ok I just saw it is posted in the UDX thread, off to go watch it!

That is why I have a dedicated chest freezer in the garage, just for gross dog stuff But the overflow from my small house freezer does go out there, too I had dead pigeons in my house freezer for a while :p

I'm glad that my bouncy girl can encourage others with overly friendly dogs that it can be done She's a funny thing, though, she works better when she is distracted if that makes any sense whatsoever. Sometimes the distraction is just too much for her that she just can't help herself, like in the video, but if she can control herself, the act of fighting the distraction and working through it perks her up and gives me enthusiastic work So therefore I need to do a LOT more distraction training

That is great news!!!! Yay for Mindy being a little fighter :D -
My girls love turkey necks! I call them alien babies They are a bit expensive, though, so the girls get them as a rare treat (dinner). Congrats everyone on the show results!

Hope it's nothing sinister Does anybody have a PDF copy of the DogsWest title application where it actually lets you type your details in before printing? I used to have a copy, have misplaced it, and the one on the DogsWest site now doesn't let me type in the details (or maybe it's just my stupid computer?) Thanks if you can help!

Where from?! :D

Who needs the eye specialist? Is everything ok???? Well, I can't fault the HAPPINESS, even though it was sheer disobedience in the obedience ring Back to working on LOTS of distractions!
-
Yes yes yes! And not just for the cooler weather for the dogs to perform in, but the chance to have drinks and nibblies and relax and socialise :D

My dogs are dead to the world right now Big night! I guess it is 1am and they have every right to be tired. Bed is where I should be heading soon

Well done to everyone tonight!! Especially Ptolomy, some awesome work My brag is Millie is now Milliemoo CDX! :D Never thought I'd ever get one CDX titled dog, let alone two. I know it isn't that much of a big deal but for my first obedience dogs who I never thought I'd get anywhere with, it means a lot to me Now I must stretch that goal and aim for UD!! Woohoo!!
-
Wooohoooooooo well done, Ptolomy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D Makes my brag pretty insignificant in comparison Millie became Milliemoo CDX tonight We have a few other DOLers with state obedience brags, too. Come on guys, get in here!!!!!! :p

I might make muffins, and bring some crackers and dip or something. Not that I can usually stomach food at obedience trials Love night time trials, though. Can bring some drinkies!!!

Dwd Routine - Freestyle Or Htm
RubyStar replied to ness's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I'm having trouble seeing your video, CleoJ, is it not a youtube link? I'm downloading a java plug in its telling me to do so hopefully that will work So if people use the same routine from starters to novice, what needs to change? I have no interest in doing DWD myself but there are a couple of songs I can't help but bop along to and think they would be awesome songs for DWD! Except, they aren't on the radio so noone would really know them unless they own the album. Is it better to use a song everyone knows, or would it still work if you used an unknown song that had a really good beat? -
It's such a shame that people can be so impatient My family have been converted now. My mum got her pup from a registered breeder and my sister will be getting hers from a registered breeder The first dog in our family to come from a registered breeder was Ruby, none of us really knew about registered breeders before I went on the hunt for Ruby (growing up our dogs always came from the paper and one of our cats from the pet shop), so I'm glad to see that it will either be registered breeders or a rescue for our family from now on (though I really can't see any of us owning cats again! ) Hadn't seen it, how funny! Reminds me of a video I found of Ruby, she had a squeaky ball in her mouth and was howling along with the squeaky noise. She wouldn't have been older than 1 in the video

You train them up and if you don't already have volunteers, I will happily trial them in retrieving :p I can handle dead birdes ;) Can't wait to meet Eccles! And yep, you will have to come retrieving training with me! Do mini schnauzer's herd? What time on Friday, you might be able to rope mum into going as she has said a few times that she likes to watch dogs herding! :p

i have trouble with this too, and will be curious to see what people suggest. when i am talking to her and encouraging her, she will stay perky and focused, but if i am not doing that, she starts to sniff and move away... Lots of rewarding in position, so they understand where heel position is. Even if you have to go back to basics and click and treat every couple of steps, I think it would be worth it. I'm sure the more experienced will have more ideas for you both
