  1. Last night was so much fun :D Thanks bedazzled for putting us through! As Ptolomy said, this was Ruby's first ever full UD round. The most we've ever done with anyone else calling something is scent a few times and a very short seekback once. So this was a pretty big ask, especially considering it had to be treated like a real trial with no treats and all the rest that goes with a real trial! I expected 0's all over the board but to my surprise we didn't get as many 0's as I anticipated! Seekback - was a fairly long one (well it felt like it to me, it was a longish ring) and our about turn to head off to find it was on our least practiced side. Blow me down, Ruby raced back down the ring in the right direction and found it pretty quickly! Directed Jumping - our least practiced exercise (besides gloves). She got the first box, and this was our first time directing her over a jump from in the middle and without stepping to give her an extra clue. I held the signal slightly longer to help her out and she nailed it! Second box she sat less than a metre short of the box, but then knew she was wrong so got up herself and went and sat in the box, 0 points of course but good girl! She got the second jump as well. SD - got first 2 articles correct then brought the wrong one back on the last go. It must have had my scent on it because she smelled it first, went to pick it up, decided against it and kept smelling, then came back to it. Signals - What can I say except she scored better in this than she usually does in a normal heelwork round Gloves - big fat failure, but that was to be expected. It's a bit embarrassing actually because I own a breed who dominates retrieving Oh and she moved all 4 feet in the group SFE. Little cow :p Can't wait to sort some issues out and get out there trialling :D :D
  2. Poor Bondi. I hope you can keep her as comfortable as possible. Hugs to her and you CC, I'm glad to hear Louis is doing a bit better!
  3. Sounds like you're trying to talk me out of wagging
  4. No, it was more of It's Yer Choice. This week is shaping them to go to a mat/bed. Oh speaking of which, I will probably forget to take If weather is crappy though I'm giving it a miss myself.
  5. For ANKC, the cutoff to be in the 500 height category is something like 545 so if she is 600 at the withers, then she's definitely a 600 dog!
  6. Only when I get home from work. The pair of mine are sloths
  7. Yes Tracy mentioned her husband does people If you book in for yourself, MG, let me know how it goes!
  8. Did you find it actually fixed it? I am hopeful! I won't know until it starts warming up and she is drinking more. If I find she is having problems I will take her back again before going the medication route.
  9. Tassie, is that from the Choose 2 Heel DVD? I recall seeing something similar, except the dog didn't jump up on you, you just brought them round in a circle when they return and then you throw the treat again, rinse repeat.
  10. Oh CC I am sorry to hear about Louis and it possibly being a cruciate Hugs to you I'll save my hugs for him when he's feeling better. boxagirl, hope Bondi starts to pick up again! MG, Tracy is in Banjup.
  11. Absolutely bucketing down in the south, now! Ahhh love to listen to the rain when I don't have to be out in it :D But hope for your sake mirawee that it stops! Ruby and Millie saw Tracy today for their first Bowen session. Millie was a bit sore in a shoulder and her buttocks But nothing severe so doesn't need a follow up session. I mentioned to Tracy about Millie being a bit incontinent when she drinks heaps of water and weeing herself when she is asleep. So she did her thang down in Millie's private areas and says that should fix it And if in summer she is starting to suffer from it again to come and see her again when it's happening as she can treat it then. Awesome! If this natural way works then I won't need to put her on medication for it Worth a shot I say :D Millie was so at ease for a lot of it, she was laying on the table for belly rubs My poor Ruby, I knew she was sore. Turns out she was very sore Pinched nerves in her shoulders with her left shoulder worse, causing her to not be able to extend her front legs and short stepping. It went diagnally across her back to her right hind leg so it kind of explains why on recalls/retrieves she comes into me at a diagonal She is booked in for a follow up session in 10 days. Tracy reckons she should be good as gold come the weekend Here's hoping I see the results I'm after :D
  12. Ruby came into season for the second time the day before I was due to head over east for a 10 day holiday (the dogs stayed with my parents obviously)
  13. Oh wow how awesome was that!! I once sent Ruby through a weave challenge similar to that as she was learning, don't ask me why She got to weave 20 or so and started thinking WTF shouldn't this have ended by now
  14. She worked awesomely, Amy!!!! :D Congrats, again!!!
  15. Not quite, though! She moved one foot and got 19/20 I think
  16. Well done SLLH! Trialled my girls last night in Open and Ruby got a lovely 27/30 in heelwork. Very proud of that as she likes to take off to greet stewards mid heelwork Either that or lags when its hot. She did some nice ringwork and was sitting on a pass until she dropped in the sit stay! Grrrr! :p
  17. Well done amypie, your runs tonight were fantastic! Hope you've popped into the brags thread ;) Besides Millie being a defiant little so and so when it came to tunnel entries tonight, she ran with super enthusiasm and speed and I really had a ball running her! Her see saw was hilarious. She blasted up it and I had to yell STEADY!!! and she slammed the breaks on just in time and rode it down Looking forward to running her over the summer night time trials. She gives me speed I don't get in warm daytime trials.
  18. Think I might take my gazebo just in case!! And maybe my wellies :D
  19. Millie is a "hopper", despite not being a small breed. She can do them relatively fast in training, but slows down in trials. Something for us to work on She learnt with the 2x2 method, and I have no desire to see if I can alter her to be a 1 step weaver. She weaves fast enough for me with her own stepping style of choice! Ruby sometimes 1 steps and sometimes 2 steps so her legs are all over the place. If I find the time I will offset them slightly like in the 2x2 DVD to see if I can get her to 1 step.... but it probably won't happen, too busy with other stuff
  20. This is EXACTLY what I was about to post! Oh the mind boggles
  21. 2 weeks to go I'm hungry just thinking about it :D But then again, it's after lunch time and I am yet to eat
