Woohoooooo well done OSS and kids!! That is a tremendous effort and fantastic results to boot! don't tell my mum that I want to steal Pippa full time for training She is a hoot!! I was doing some circle work and restrained recalls tonight with a few line up at heel and drops and she is so much fun! She's go go go! Love it :D Oh and I can't believe what an angel she is in her crate waiting for her turn! Yeah, I'm a bit smitten with this puppy Wouldn't get myself a mini schnauzer but she's a lot of fun as a rental dog Here is the cheeky ninja herself!

I second (third? fourth?) those who say to perhaps look into alternatives that are close to what you want to work in but pay better/have more career prospects. Fingers crossed I get into Uni next year because I discovered something that if I aim in the right direction can come pretty close to what my original low paying job goal was, and pays a helluva lot better!! Once again good luck!

Very good point, there. When I was in high school, I wanted to be a vet nurse. So I did work experience in year 11 (for an indefinite period) up at a local vet clinic and I was enjoying it, until I got to stand in on my first operation. I got through it, but when they got to the stitching up part, that is when the room started spinning and I was out cold on the floor. I decided that it wasn't in my future to be a vet nurse afterall. I am so thankful I found out when I did!!!

9 times out of 10 I will just keep running. They either missed it because I gave them a wrong signal, or they just plain didn't see it. Either way you look at it, there is absolutely no point in going back (besides being DQ'd, but who cares between an NQ or DQ personally?) so just keep running, dammit!!! Now I need to tell that 1 time out of 10 me to do that....

Only if your second order also hits $100.... which many people are still finding easy to do on the second and third goes

I was once on a wage this low and I bought my first unit solo. Can't remember how much deposit I had, couldn't have been much more than $10k, but I got a loan. Then again, prices of Perth houses these days, you'd be hard pressed to find a dog kennel to buy on the max loan a bank could give you on 32k

What sort/size of dog is Abbie? I'm possibly looking for a roommate

Couldn't agree more Also people should keep in mind that what we love doing often changes with time and experiences. What I'm doing now was my "dream job". Yawn!! I'm only still in it because I need to pay the mortgage and doing something else that will pay a comparable salary means going back to study (which is what I hope to do next year).

I don't know pays and stuff of vet nurses, besides hearing they are low, but I am in a similar boat as you. I work an office/IT job I don't enjoy and looking to get out. Unfortunately, that means starting over and being single with a mortgage, I can't afford to take much of a dive in pay unless I REALLY love it as I only have me to support me. I would probably have to sell my house and move home for a while if I had a job that paid that low (and yes there is a job out there I have in mind that I would love to have and probably would sell up for a shot at it). I honestly don't think you'd manage a mortgage/bills/etc. on your own with only 32k so if you really reeeeaaally want to be a vet nurse, and you're single, expect to make sacrifices with the way you live. Sure I could meet someone in the future too, who knows what the future holds, but I need to take care of myself like it is always just going to be me so if the future doesn't pan out the way I'd like it, at least I looked after myself and didn't need a partner to survive Good luck with your decision!! I know how tough it is so I do wish you the very best!

Cool Crate Covers (from Cleanrun)
RubyStar replied to megan_'s topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I like the cool coats because they are cheap, lightweight and breathable, but downside is they dry too quickly. The same fabric as a crate cover, I just can't see how it work would, personally Yep the other one is probably the better choice and I think I'll just get the small, it's still a decent size for $25!! -

From a quick glance at the description, these brand of crate covers are made out of the same fabric as their cool coats (please correct me if I'm wrong). If that is the case, I wouldn't recommend them. When wetting them, they dry pretty quickly, and the fabric dry to me would be useless as a cooling object around a crate. Pretty pricey for something that wouldn't work too well. You're better off with a Cool Puppy Shade Cloth Panel, they apparently work really well to block the heat. I have one in my cart currently, but only getting the smallest size and thinking maybe I should get a bigger one! I'm getting one to put over my car windscreen at trials to keep the heat out of the car where the dogs usually are for trials -
What item is this?

I have a photo I took indoors yesterday that looks really clear on my phone (but it was taken near a skylight) and I am trying to email it to myself to see if it looks as good on a computer but I can't currently send email, only receive! Argh!!! And I don't have my cable with me at work
-
Amy, those photos are so clear! The photos are definitely better indoors than with my 3G, but still not great

Piney Lakes on the Samsung: Sony Ericsson: ST, was that photo of your guys swimming taken on the iphone? Which version?
-
I expect it to take 10 days just to pack orders, let alone send them
-
Umm probably not, I had the Sony Ericsson when Ruby was a puppy but changed it over for a Samsung F480 touchscreen thingy (during my iphone boycott stage, didn't want to be a sheep! ) and that nice took clear photos outdoors too but again, indoors was pretty rubbish.

I haven't submitted my order yet but that is only because I haven't decided what to cull yet, and I'm waiting to hear back from a couple of people who want a few items chucked onto my order. I wouldn't hesitate to submit the order while it is still charging shipping because they do fix it. I ordered something a while ago (a light item) and via email they quoted me a different shipping price because it could be sent via an envelope, not a box, but to just leave a note in the comments to say what price I was quoted and why. When the transaction on my credit card changed to display who the charge came from, the amount was adjusted no worries Though saying that, I would be hesitant to submit the order while it is still charging you if paying by Paypal. Not sure why but I just feel more comfortable it will be fixed properly paying directly by credit card.

Well done OSS and to your whippies!!!! Good kiddies! ST - the video camera on the new phone looks good, but I haven't transferred any video to my computer yet to see just how good it is. I'm sure camera will be ok in daylight, I will have to test it out. The best camera phone I ever had was a Sony Ericsson that had a Sony Cybershot camera in it. Clearest photos EVER!! The video camera sucked big time, though. 15 sec vids max (or thereabouts) and blurry as anything. I almost stayed with the Sony Ericsson's because of the awesome cameras in them.

I woke up really hungry on Sunday morning

Thanks for a great night last night, everyone!!! Food was yummy and the company was pretty good, too ;)

It's not just the not in focus I mean, the photo still looks fuzzy/blurry and that is the quality of the camera indoors it seems! I do understand different colours will focus/photograph differently but at least outside the overall look of the photo would have been clearer with the same camera. I'm just glad I could get them all looking at the camera at the same time!
