  1. I'm not Ptolomy but if she doesn't want to, I put my hand up for a go with the Aussie
  2. I'd be looking here- http://www.dogzonlin...ull-terrier.asp While that may be a list of registered breeders, it doesn't also mean they are all ethical
  3. Rally, all the more reason to come and be my new house mate I am hoping to do Curtin next year while I work (probably online/external). Could use a study kick up the bum and a dog training time out reminder :p Gosh I wish I could quit work and be a full time student for a little while!
  4. I'm ok with the kiddies being out of school. Means the roads will be quieter in the mornings and the trains in the morning and afternoons won't be littered with them making those irritating sounds. You know, the ones along the lines of laughing and talking too loudly What job are you applying for, RV? :D
  5. Cooool :D How did I miss that?! Lucky duuuuuccccccck!!! You're no friend of mine!!! Friends rocked :D It's the reason for my 2 US trips in one year
  6. I'm surprised it's not at 100 pages with us Clean Run freaks! I had a look at my order email and realised I decided not to get the paw stuff in the end. Now I'm regretting it, poo! I probably wouldn't use it.... so is probably a waste of money for me!
  7. ST is placing one tomorrow morning ;) Nah I better not go and look! I'm going to be good :D
  8. Western Classic entries this Friday? Is that for everyone or just showing? Might sit and do entries now, then
  9. I wanted to order the Clean Run bag, but it's not big enough to fit all my training rubbish in I'm getting so tempted to go and have another look at the website JUST IN CASE! Any Perth people about to place another order?
  10. Not sure, RV. Would be good if it was a comp already! I guess I could sit and do some entries for next year already to tide me over until the season starts back up again next year! I need to get the Western Classic ones organized and the fun teams one for Cloverdale soon.
  11. That's my neck o' the woods :D It could use some DOLers to liven the place up! We'll have to arrange a DOL meet one morning then :D
  12. Are you looking to start trialling obedience in the new year, Tiggy?
  13. I don't let my dogs lick any of my sores because I think it's gross FOR THEM!
  14. It's like a snake tongue. Slithers in and out in one swift move!
  15. Has anyone in WA heard yet what we need to do to get our Associate Gundogs registered as such? RubyBlue kindly sent me the form she received in Vic that needs to be sent off (with photos) to get her Associate Labrador on the AG register, and seeing as WA are having 2 RATG next year from the sounds of it, I want to know what I need to do to make Millie eligible! The form looks pretty straight forward, and I can easily get the required photos printed, but it says to return it to DogsVic and attention it to RAFT Committee. Do we have such a committee for these things here? Newbie and all to retrieving, I don't know Thanks!
  16. Ruby licks me anywhere she can get her tongue, including my neck if I'm at her level. If I've just had a shower I don't let her, but if I'm due for one I don't care. The only exception is when she's just been outside to snack on fresh brown delicacies in the backyard - stay away! Millie isn't much of a licker, except, she has exceptionally good aim when it comes to sticking tongues in mouths, and makes it her mission to cop you when you least expect it. This I can't stand!! Blurgh!
  17. What makes you assume that my training goal is specifically or solely aimed at competition? If you want to train specifically to win competition then fine. The dog in that video was not trained specifically or solely for competition. It doens't matter what you are aiming for, shouldn't you always want to get the best out of your dog? Even more than that if having a dog isn't about having fun then what is it about? Probably just a status symbol to some. Quite sad really! I own dogs for enjoyment. I don't own other pets because for me personally they wouldn't give me any enjoyment, so why would I want to own them?
  18. Yes. Why? Maybe they like slow, unmotivated, old, American heelwork rounds, actually see plenty just like it at some dog clubs:p
  19. My dog sure is having fun in the obedience ring! Being a baby UD dog in her first trial she got the first part of the exercise wrong, but just look at that happy face and her enthusiasm to try again! That is what it's about!! She got it right in the end and we have a very happy dog and handler
  20. Loving the hat, LMS My dogs turn themselves inside out for it to be their turn to train. I love when they get something wrong, they don't break down from fear they are going to be in trouble. They are happy and waggy and come bounding back to me to try again If your dog heels with body language that says they are frightened to be wrong, then you have to question why the heck you're training in the first place. My comments based on competition stuff obviously, general behavioural problems I won't comment on, I have no experience in that area.
  21. I'm sorry if my input was offensive. I don't know of anyone with a dog who shares Millie's problem and I wanted to talk about it. Maybe I will have to start my own thread to seek out a "support group" of owners of dogs suffering the same thing!
