Merry Christmas everyone! Clever Ruby opened hers and Millie's presents this morning! Got stuck into the wrapping paper and all My dogs are driving us bonkers with SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK!! I've just had to finally confiscate the toys as it's been half hour of non-stop squeaking and the dogs are behaving like over excited children. Stimulation levels have gone through the roof so it's time to calm doooowwwwwnnnn Hope everyone and their doggies have a lovely Christmas :D

Did some more training with little Pippa today on her dumbbell hold. Can't believe how quickly she's picked up the hold compared to my 2 dogs in the past Now I need to teach her fronts so I can combine the 2 properly Clever little puppy!!

Great video, RV! It sure picked up some speed in the straighter bits and wow look at how many rear crosses the woman threw in! I'm jealous of those who can rear cross, I can't with my girls Would help if I trained it I guess But they just don't drive far enough ahead of me to get any in!! -
If I lived closer to Hillary's I would have. But I took the girls to the local lake yesterday for some training and they got covered in lake goo, so they had a bath last night ready for Christmas, they smell good enough to So I want them to stay sweet smelling a little longer :D

Holy friggin' moly!! I was searching for agility videos of mini schnauzer's and came across 2 gobsmacking videos! One was of a black mini schnauzer, the other of a malinois. They breed and train them fast over there!!!! MS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veaKjxedywQ Malinois: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLSswMsXO6M -
Mini Schnauzer - Great With Kids?

Go the black minis!!!!!!!!! Somehow, I don't think I'll do Pippa any justice as her agility handler. She needs someone like this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veaKjxedywQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hR9nJ2NJWKU#! Whoops, off topic again, I know -
JUST received an email to say my second order has been shipped. Talk about delay!!!! Ordered on the 7th, and the one ordered on the 6th arrived yesterday. Oh well

I remember getting bitten on my bottom as a kid, so I know how Millie feels to some extent!!

Not sure I agree with that, becks  -
Sorry to hear about Bondi, boxagirl Well we had an interesting afternoon at the park. Poor Millie got bitten by a bull ant on her girly bits!! Oh dear I haven't heard a dog screech out in so much pain before! She attracted the attention of other park goers who came over to see what was happening. She wouldn't stop licking at it and when I tried to see if one had actually crawled inside she screeched even more! The screeching finally stopped so we came home and I wrapped a gel pack up in a towel and put it on her privates Poor Moo. That would have HURT!!!!!!!!

I'm trying to talk my mum into coming to the DOL beach meet too so she can bring Pippa

One word: food. Get the clicker and treats out and Pippa is jumping around offering behaviours for a treat. We call her a Mini-Lab :p I've seen a few at agility that do some really nice work for tugging as well. Pippa is very cute. I haven't seen many black minis (I havent actually seen any), they are adorable Oh she loves her tug, too Does a mean restrained recall to her tug I'm going to have so much fun with her in agility!! But the obedience nut in me has started obedience with her, too, more so than agility basics -
Great video, looks lovely I was too lazy to go to the beach this morning, got up at 10am. Sooooooooooo needed the sleep in after getting up at 6 every morning!! Weasels, I won't be going to the beach tomorrow like I said I might. Catch up with you at this DOL meet

Ness, it's not the muscle memory I didn't like, it was the over complicated contraption she built for it! Other than that, I agree.

Oh and the props are to teach fronts and stuff, she uses pipe and wood and stuff as a guide for them. They have their uses, but I think she over complicates it by making special things for it. Just use a wall, much easier Pipe has its uses too and I've used it for some things as a guide but she makes these fancy contraptions!

I have her competition obedience one, titled Obedience Competition (Performance) Training for Accuracy, Reliability, and Relationship. I also have one on Reinforcement, and the Third Way Foundation Seminar (which I haven't watched yet). So obviously my interest in her stuff is from an obedience competition point of view. If you're interested in something else, I can't help with recommendations off her list because I don't know

Mini Schnauzer - Great With Kids?
RubyStar replied to LamborghiniMurphy's topic in General Dog Discussion
Oh yes size doesn't matter I've found Right from baby puppy all of a couple of kilos, she was taking on 2 adult Labs and coming back for more They are so incredibly patient with her. They will play with her heaps, but when they don't want to play and she's being annoying, they sit and look at me pleadingly while she nips at them. This look on their faces like "annoying child" but they tolerate it. When they are trying to sleep and she gets annoying, they tell her off and she gets the message, but then comes back for more when they are awake They appear to be a big dog in a small dog's body! -
I have a cheque account purely for dog trials and dog club expenses. The amount of money that flows through that account alone makes me weak at the knees.

Must be their colour :D

That is how I would sum them up, too, in my very limited exposure to them! They come complete with a cheeky grin. What colour is your sister's dog? Needle puppy teeth are a shocker. Glad we don't have that anymore!
