Well done wuffles and Ava!!! Wow she's really on fire!! I surely hope you got it on video to share with us ;) Edit because my new laptop is autocorrecting like an iPhone does. I typed wuffles and it changed it to waffles!!! This is going to be interesting in the future

 Glad you get it, Tassie I really do want to do agility with her, too, that was my main aim. But when it comes to obedience, I just can't help myself And as you say, can be trained anywhere due to not needing much equipment! I had an impromptu training session at 9.30 last night in my jammies Shaping exercise to put her front paws on a phone book so I can start pivot work. She's got the feet thing happening, now to extend the time she holds them there! Then my dogs wanted in on the action Training freaks when the clicker and treats come out!

Sounds like a good thing to have in a nice big outdoor garden, but for some reason I also picture hoards of mozzies of an evening

The system is only $30 and will be on a timer i guess we will do it every every hour for 10-15 mins... Just out of curiosity, would the rostered sprinkler days apply to this? Or because it uses so little water, it doesn't?
-
Me neither, but I would for ME
-
Misting system sounds awesome! Sadly for me, that would be wasp heaven!! Get heaps of them in my yard, more so in summer looking for water. Hate the buggers myself, and I'm not allergic!!

I used to leave a paddle pool set up, but I won't now. Attracts way too many bees/wasps in my yard and I can't risk Ruby getting stung while I'm at work. I am going to start leaving them inside the house while I'm at work. They can have free run, they aren't destructo dogs except for the occasional dog bed (and mum's foam/cane lounge a few years back ) Hopefully it will work out for us. Maybe in winter they can be shafted back outside when the bees/wasps bugger off! What time is the agility meant to start? I'm sure it will be delayed, even if they don't tell us beforehand.
-
Not sure I would do that for my girls Though I bet they are sprawled out under the aircon vent at my parents place right now. In a couple of hours when mum leaves for work, they will no doubt be turfed outside! At least they have PLENTY of shade out there, and several water bowls. When I get there in the afternoon they are huffing and puffing but they'll get over it!

Training A Solid 'stack'
RubyStar replied to Elise+Hudson's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Don't know about other breeds, but my dogs are rather sensitive about having their tail pulled back to invoke opposition reflex! Marking with a clicker when the dog walks its weight forward onto its front legs sounds like a good approach to me, too :) -
Congrats on the Rally-O titles, guys!! Must be brilliant to have access to trials to be the first in Oz to get the title, well done! :)

See that's what I don't get, why be embarrassed? Ok so you obviously don't like them now, but you did at one stage. It's all part of evolving! I went and saw some boybands live in my teen years, I loved them then, and even now I love to reminisce and play some of their songs on my ipod (to myself!). Brings back good memories. P.S. no it didn't make me feel better because you added the part about being embarrassed by it  :p

Way to go, Coco!!! I'm such an obedience nerd. I want to do some agility with Pippa but I keep doing obedience with her instead I'm struggling to find a foundation agility exercise that I can't/won't morph into an obedience one Started her on her first jump last night (no more than 10cm off the ground - even though she leaps onto my bed which is pretty high for a bed!) but then when I try to do circle work with her, I turn it into a heelwork session But she's just too much fun and I'm loving training a "little" dog. I get to have all the fun and none of the responsibility being that she's mum's dog!

The Nickelback jokes I actually find amusing! Besides, their latest album is awful. Awful, awful, awful. They're lucky their guitarist is damn hot, he's the only reason why I might go to another of their concerts ;) My favourite band is actually matchbox twenty, and you might not have to like 'em, but insult them in my presence well, watch out! They be my boys! :D Have been for a very long time :) General Dog Discussion, eh? Have you seen how gorgeous my kids are lately? There, that should swing it back to dogs! And stay with the bias theme above

What's worse is switching from one to get away from a song you hate, to find the other station is playing the same song at the same time! Of all the songs out there to play... just goes to show, huh?
-
No worries, ST. I don't like any radio these days. The music played is crap, and the so called entertainment shows are full of the non-funniest people ever. About 10 years ago I used to like 96fm, til they turned into the worst radio station ever. 92.9 and Nova just flog the absolute crap out of the same songs that all sound the same anyway. Yes I like bands that a lot of you don't like (and people everywhere make sure I know it, by naming them by names in their insults), but what can I do but shrug it off? I much prefer my ipod with the selection of songs *I* like to radio! I'm not sure I am going to the beach in the morning now!
-
Again, I will say, I don't like commercial radio either. Guys, settle, people beat the crap outta bands I like all the time and I just laugh it off We all have different tastes, it's life! Just like people beat the crap out of Labradors ;)
-
I can't say I agree JJJ shits all over others, BUT, I do agree that most radio stations have gone to shit. The best music I have heard in a long time was the top 500 summer countdown (or whatever it was called) over the Xmas/NY break. All the old school stuff and you were guaranteed to only hear it ONCE over that whole week
-
P.S. i'm sure crazy canadian will ensure we hear nickelback on Straya Day
-
They're too good to feature on JJJ, so I won't ever be voting! Besides, mb20 are better :p
-
Painful is right!!!!
-
Ditto. They really need to make the parking extend around that oval, it's not like their wonderful trees are growing!!
-
I don't understand what the fuss is about the JJJ Hottest 100 - the music is crap! You don't have aircon, mirawee?!

Go to the above link, shows every possible combination of colour mateings and the outcomes, no guess work needed. But we were having fun working out the why's and how's

Retrieving & Field Training Talk
RubyStar replied to RubyStar's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Good luck for next week, TSD! I'm sure you'll kick some retrieving butt!! What was the type of game Em didn't like bringing back? I think Ruby would bypass a rabbit or wait, no, she'd probably eat it -
ST, your explanation was great! The great majority of us do understand there are 2 genes at play here, but trying to explain it like you and mirawee did was proving more confusing than it should have been. Why can't there be a unit in my uni course for genetics, it's a topic I find fascinating! Hard, but fascinating!
