  1. We're making some nice progress! I have just received the forms to fill out to transfer Millie to the Associate Gundog register. I must accompany the form with 2 photographs (which are ready to go), aaaaand, 32 bucks for the trouble. I have to hand back her original Associate papers as new papers will be issued. I wonder if that means I have the opportunity for a name change? If spaces are allowed on this register (which I'm not sure about... sporting dog registers can ) shall I change Milliemoo to Millie Moo? And yes, she will be staying with the Moo portion, cos she's my crazy moo Kudos to the Retrieving Club of WA, wonderful bunch they are!!
  2. Great work DiscoDobe! Would love to see video of your little cutie in action!
  3. Thanks for the link! Nice dog!!!! Mine appear to have long legs, but in actual fact they are only 53cm, so under standard. I don't think there are very many Labs that I've seen in real life that make the standard Hi Lablover, I would REALLY love to see photos of your dogs!! Please!
  4. I don't do well face to face either. Yes I know, my problem ;) Terrible at confrontation
  5. Congrats emery! Did you win anything? 5 cups a day, I second the My girls get 1.5 cups a day each They weigh about 24kgs.
  6. Oh noes, more puppies!!!! What are you trying to do to me  Congrats on your new addition, washa! He looks handsome! Great news about your insurance, MG! I submitted my claim on the 13th Feb, only today received a letter saying they received it on the 16th Feb, and that they will assess it and let me know the outcome of my claim Almost a month later and that is all I get?! I get Ruby's cheque 2 weeks to the day that I popped it in the mailbox, from a different insurer I hope that is sign of good things to come from them for Ruby's testing as it was my first ever claim with them and they were that speedy, while this is Millie's second claim so they have all her history, plus I provided extra, and they are taking their sweet time. Oh, and 2 weeks down now of Uni and I'm into the full swing of it - busy busy (and busier) and now wondering how I'm going to cope with 7 years of this ahead of me! Typical that work usually isn't busy, but the minute I take this study on, work becomes flat out and gives me unrealistic time frames to deliver a project. SIGH!!
  7. RV, I hope Toby is ok Sending healing vibes to him and hugs to you both
  8. Thanks :) Well the brag portion of it is she is my dogwalk/seesaw phobic girl. Managed to get her over the dogwalk after the big scary weesaw. It is going to be a constant struggle with this as she keeps questioning herself on the dogwalk upramp Nah, wagging tonight I take it you're wagging, too?
  9. How exciting, mirawee! Only a week and a bit to go! :D What's her registered name? Did you put Jive in there? I am going to wag training tonight So much to do, so little time! Spent the weekend studying Human Biology, and tonight need to catch up on my second unit pre-reading before tomorrow. Wish my dream last night of winning $1 million was true, then I could quit work and do this full time! :p Ruby is booked in for her allergy consult tomorrow afternoon, then I will drop her off Wed morning bright and early so she can be sedated and poked and prodded for allergy testing that day. Better go check if my credit card can handle the payment - or hope Murdoch lets me split payment between a couple of credit cards! Food donations welcome
  10. So was there a Labrador in the obedience competition? I would love to see it, but not sure how to search through the really long videos
  11. Just realised I didn't put my teensy tiny brag in here. Ruby debuted in Excellent Agility at the Western Classic, and not only got a Q, but came first in her 500 height class :) (ie. was the only 500 dog to qualify ) Millie just messed up her weave entry (again), but then weaved nicely once I sent her back in.
  12. Congrats wuffles on the Rally-O pass, and smisch on Den's JDM and Ella's debut! Great runs, caffy!!!
  13. Great news in my inbox! The club has decided to allow Associates to still submit entries up until next Monday in case DogsWest get their act together in the meantime. If they don't, we can still run them as NFC. That part is a bummer because by rights DogsWest should be making sure her run counts, BUT, I am very thankful to the club for even allowing this :) Fingers crossed DW pull their finger out in the next 6 days
  14. I have had a few judges enquire to DogsWest on behalf of Associate Gundogs (not sure if it's just me being difficult or there are others wanting to compete too), and they heard back the same as I did on here. That being, that we need to supply a couple of photographs to them with an application form and it will be forwarded to whatever working party they need to for assessment. The trouble is, they haven't got that form ready, and they haven't finalised details of who exactly to send it all to. So nobody over here can formally assess Millie to be a gundog and tick some box on her DogsWest record to make her eligible. It's nuts. Oh and I bet once it is finally all organized, DogsWest will hit me up with a fee for their "service" to do this  Would be nice if the clubs can just take entries from Associates in the meantime, though I know that is probably borderline impossible because it isn't official. Sigh!! It's not that I expect we'll pass or anything, but I'd like to get out there and just give it a shot with her. She loves to retrieve and it is denying her of that love! We still have water deliveries to get right. I have entered Ruby because I want to be a part of the first RATG over here. She needs more work on water deliveries, too We'll just get out there, have some fun and see how we go :)
  15. Which is why something should have been finalised by now.
  16. I did ask the club if there is any way they can let us enter, even non-officially, but my guess is they can't. I'll wait and see. Plus I emailed DogsWest last night (I am no good on the phone, and can word myself so much better in writing), pleading with them for a way for me to enter. Think I'm wasting my "breath", though
  17. Just want to let off a little steam I know I've already mentioned it but I am so mad/upset with DogsWest about their lazy attitude towards registering Associate Gundogs. Entries for WA's first RATG close tomorrow, and I am devastated I can't enter Millie Does anyone in WA know who I could forward complaints to about this? The schedule says Associate Dogs are eligible (though it is NOT the clubs fault, let me stress that point that I am NOT finger pointing the lovely club hosting this for us!!) It is DogsWest that haven't gotten their act together and the lovely club has been enquiring on my behalf to get this moving. Unfortunately, DogsWest are being their usual selves and we still have no answer. First world problems and all.... but grrrrr!!!!!!!
  18. Has it been on yet? Do we get to see PAX in action? It's all too confusing for me!
  19. Yes that is Ruby. What lovely big ears, you have! :D All the more to flap you with in agility This is "Suuuuper Milliiiie"! http://members.iinet...8278_large.html
  20. Thanks, Ptolomy :) I love the one of Millie playing superwoman. All she needs is a cape, as her arms certainly indicate the superwoman flying pose Some very lovely photos of all the winning dog/handler teams!
  21. Chloe, unpapered Maltese. Gave her her wings at 16.5 years of age as she suffered a bit of a fit and then was breathing very shallow and not moving. It was her time, as her muscles had been wasting away over the previous 6 months so I gave her her wings so she could be her puppy self again at rainbow bridge - the Chloe I remember growing up! Here she is with my Ruby when Ruby was a puppy.
  22. it's ok, my Aussie is yeeeeeaaaaars away ;)
  23. Nope, never expected anyone to complain about that and I thought I was about to read that your breeder had decided she wouldn't send them until 12 weeks now or something  But I can see your frustration. You really do want to be home with them at least in their first week. Just think how worth it she is after all you have been through to get her :) Did you have a name yet, or are you keeping it secret? I can't remember! P.S. I need to stop logging onto here and reading about all the new puppies, I will never stop being puppy clucky!!! Is it my turn for one, yet?
  24. You could even go along and enrol part time and pick up the worst unit that doesn't get filled up as fast, stick it out, then that puts you in a priority position for the following semester part time intake (where you don't have to line up for a place like the plebs, your name is already on the list and all you have to do is go in and pay your fees). Obviously if you can do full time and can get in, that is the better way to go as you are guaranteed a spot in all units, but this is an alternative pathway if you're that keen on it.
