Another brag for my Ruby Roo! She brought all 3 birdies back today in the novice retrieving trial, making it the second trial we've finished - 3 more finishes to go for her QND title :D
-
A few of us WA folk can now join you Eastern Staters with our first RN titles
-
For those not on my facebook, thought I would share this little gem here too. Ruby goes to the vet every Friday for a few hours for her bee/wasp allergy desensitization jabs. I picked her up this arvo and the vet nurse brings her out the office way, not the usual consult rooms/surgery way. She informs me that Ruby has been sleeping under her desk after she was done getting her shots No kennels for Princess Ruby - talk about spoiled!!! Nice to know they're giving her personalised care

Coldest May morning in a long time - no wonder I had to put my electric blanket back on around 5am as I was so bbbrrrrrrr!!! Then put the gas heater on when I got up Dogs weren't impressed when I had to turn it off, but they loved it while it was on!

Agility Training Talk Thread
RubyStar replied to Vickie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
So with Nationals being so close, I'm surprised this thread was buried about 3 pages deep! Who is going? No Nationals for me, but I look forward to hearing all the results. I'm in the process of training up my new little agility buddy - it's going to be fun running a small dog! We've only just started training so a long way to go yet :) I'm going to enjoy the ride!! -
I get the nearest toy brought to me by Ruby. And if she can't find a toy, she'll bring me a pair of socks if any are nearby. If she can't find anything, she runs around trying to find something and I have to distract her to keep her from getting disappointed She did once bring a piece of poo inside She came in and sat by me. I noticed she was keeping her mouth shut in a weird way, so I had a look and out spat a grassy piece of poo. Yeah, thanks Rubes!!!!

Oh how funny! Tell her she's a comedian Ranford I believe :)
-
I missed this earlier, sorry! That is great news!
-
Why would they need to take any more than other vet surgeries? I'd go with Applecross. Good price, and they are knowledgeable. But of course I've only seen them the once... others of course would have their own opinions :)
-
I think you should give your current vet the flick RFT and name them Rob people blindly because a lot of people don't think to shop around, and you will and should lose your customers! Sheesh. $1000 is daylight robbery.
-
Do you mind me asking which vet this is? Doesn't sound like a vet I'd like to return to (and it's probably the one I have reluctantly had to return to as they pull similar dodgy stunts, too!)
-
Woah. Shop around I say! Ruby got xrayed ages ago and they did all 4 and it only cost $500-$600 from memory. And yes it did involve knocking her out.
-
Yes I'm doing agility and obedience with her. We're in the agility puppy classes at the moment. You know you want a second dog, RosieFT :D
-
I know! I think I'm a big fan of the blacks. Subtlely convinced mum that black was the best choice to get If they were a gundog, I think I'd get my own! She likes to think she is one, though. An appetite like a Lab, and had her retrieving dummies in the backyard this week
-
I'm so sad I have to return Pippa home tonight House isn't going to be the same without her! I'm going to miss the little poopy pants
-
I'm an average sorta person, don't stand out in a crowd in any way, so I have no idea what stereotypical dog I should own?! My personality is completely the opposite of the Labs I own though - I don't believe everyone is my friend and everyone loves me, I don't find it easy to approach strangers, and I don't find happiness in every little thing! But I think Labs, and any happy-go-lucky breeds are for me as it makes me smile when I most need it :D
-
She might be dismal! We're using trials as our training as it's the only real chance we get to be exposed to throwers and the terrain, so any birdies brought back are just a bonus!! I was absolutely over the moon when she actually managed to bring all 3 back at her last trial!! 1/5th of the way to her QND title
-
8am start for Novice. 11ish maybe(?) for Restricted (going on the Restricted vetting times which is 10.30-10.45).
-
Yes there is a retrieving trial at mirawee's property on Sunday. Are you wanting to watch for the gundogs on display or the pretty horses? :p
-
Suddenly, peeing in the bush doesn't seem so bad
-
Oh the walk is so worth it to not to have to pee in the bush! And that's what cars are for :p Yessss you should install a portaloo... will it be there by Sunday by any chance?
-
I will be mirawee! Can I use your toilet!? :D (just kidding ) Woohoo CareyJ, excellent news!!
-
OK I'll probably see you Thursday! I am going to try go tonight but I have 1 week left to get an assessment started and finished! Semester is almost over, the end is in sight!!!
-
Yeah she might have gone screw this, I want a birdy! Who knows! I'd love to see your setup for your car please! When are you at K9 next? I will probably come train tonight (shock horror! )

Thanks Weasels. The first one might work, my back car seats slope back a bit so I'm not sure if that will matter. Would like to get out of it a bit cheaper than that, though Already spent heaps on getting the back crates custom fitted to the car. It just unfortunately doesn't solve the seat jumping issue. Millie got a pass at the RATG today. Her deliveries are shot at the moment, though. Everything else was good. Ruby was a little cow in her retrieves. During the second one she decided she'd rather not bring a dummy back so spit it out and went wandering
