  1. Good luck Ptolomy and bedazzled!!! Thankyou to amypie for a great day today of food indulgence, and to mirawee, RallyValley (and SparkyTansy in spirit) for a great evening :) One heckuva 21st bday, doggy people are the best!! :D
  2. Not that I live anywhere near Ossie Park, but what is the price of it there please?
  3. Though Brookie in UD is stunning as always - it wasn't hard to win yesterday. You did see the quality of the other dogs in there, right?
  4. I have one dog with PetPlan and another with Medibank. PetPlan take YONKS to pay out claims, and I find their general customer service lacking (had a few issues with them), but overall they're ok. I've found Medibank are generally quicker to payout than PetPlan, taking 2 weeks, though one claim took ages. Medibank are one of the only companies that will NOT give you pre-approval before you go ahead with a surgery or whatever, so you have to send it in and pray they will cover. That part sucks about them. They have so far paid me out over $3500 this year, with a couple more grand in claims about to go in. Certainly in this instance, I am very grateful to have pet insurance! I get back 100%, until my renewal comes though sometime this year, where I drop to 80%
  5. Fingers crossed for Kenz Would the specialist/yourself be taking another approach if she was a "pet" only? (as in no performance sports). Would she get to run free and live a relatively normal/happy life?
  6. Sloooow afternoon at work. Another hour or so to go. Need to go hit up Harvey Norman after work for not contacting me that the coffee machine I ordered and paid for is now in stock! So here's hoping I get my coffee machine today :D Then it's off to training tonight if I don't get stuck in horrid traffic
  7. Im considering doing the switch, but think Im too late for this semester! Ah, sorry RnH, misinterpreted your question! Yes you'd be too late this semester, all classes for ACWA are full. It is beneficial to email the club now though to get your name on the list for next term, as spots always fill up.
  8. What class are you in? See you next week! Missed RallyValley in class last night I guess she was working
  9. Didn't realise OP was in Perth - YES, go see the Derms at Murdoch! Our saviours!
  10. Ear flush under GA for my Lab with chronic ear infections was done last Friday. Numerous trips to a regular vet and they just kept prescribing Dermotic. Sure it would take care of the infection on the surface, but they can't see right down to the ear drum where the infection still was, and it would of course make its way back out to the surface where we can see it. Finally had a derm vet check them out and they flushed both ears right to the ear drum under GA - lucky after all these infections the ear drum wasn't perforated. Vet thinks underlying allergies are the root cause, so I am going to try a food elimination diet for starters. She's already on grain free kibble, but going to can that for goat and sweet potato for 6 weeks and see how we go. See a specialist derm vet ASAP! A regular vet just can't see enough down there and try to just treat the problem, not the cause.
  11. MG yes it sounds like field trials especially for spaniels and retrievers (so not the ones for pointers and setters/utility gundogs). I'd be interested in having a look, but don't need another sport to try York is a bit far to go, though, just for a squiz Geeez how cold is it!! Last night at training I swear my fingers were so cold that they were going to snap off, they were very painful!! That aside, I had an excellent night at training - love how a good training session can brighten my day! Pippa had her first agility class in adult foundation and was a little ripper! She's still running around a couple of jumps so I'm not going to add any crosses or too much difficulty until she has enough value for every jump, but her two jumps and a tunnel followed by another jump, was like a little speed demon! She went into that bendy tunnel so fast she virtually ran up the side of it on the inside on the bend She had her first go on the baby A-Frame and loved it. Surprised to see her 2o2o contact training on a plank on the ground easily transferred to the A-Frame Then I did some obedience with my 2 and they were jumping out of their skin to work! Millie was just psycho (and I loved it), and Ruby was bouncy Gotta love the cold weather for training!!!
  12. Can't answer your PTS and checked question, but assuming you are talking ANKC titles, multi-certificates to my knowledge are like agility ones, where you might get your JDO title, then get enough passes for JDO again, so they become JDO2 and so on. So don't worry about that. You also don't need an updated cert of registration, unless you want one. I'm not throwing more money than I have to at DogsWest for a piece of paper displaying their additional titles! Most, if not all, other CC's offer an updated cert of registration as part of the title application. But here, we have to pay extra for it!! All you'll need to apply for the title you are after is to fill in the form, copies of their qualifying certificates, and Bob's your uncle. I don't even send in a copy of their registration anymore, seems to get through ok
  13. Wasn't one of the toller kids just hiding it on you?? That's disgraceful
  14. She sounds awesome :) I pick a good puppy :D Now, how's that dumbell retrieve coming along that I started teaching her?
  15. That's going to be a tough ask :) Will you be bringing Nina to training on Mondays? I want another cuddle! And to see you and her in action, love puppy training, it's so much fun!
  16. I agree, ST. The rule allowing more dogs is not going to make people rush out and buy more dogs just cos the council say they can! Absurd to think that. I have lived in NSW and never witnessed any dog issues over there. We had 3 dogs and it was no problem.
  17. I can't see many regular pet folk people want more than 2, why would you think that would mean every backyard would have hoards of dogs It is restrictive to responsible people who want more than 2, whether it be for showing or performance reasons, or otherwise. A bad owner is going to be a bad owner regardless of dog numbers, the same with GOOD owners. Oh and if someone wants more than 2, they're going to have more than 2, so why not just make it legal to do so and have council gain extra registration fees out of the dogs that people are currently hiding!
  18. Granted, the only thing I know about the NSW Dog Act is the no limit on dog numbers, as long as they're cared for adequately, but this alone makes me want WA to adopt it, too!
  19. Labs come in YELLOW, black and chocolate. There are no GOLDEN Labradors :)
  20. Some councils allow you to apply for a permit for 3 (or maybe 4?) dogs, but none automatically let you have more than 2. Some, like CoGosnells, straight out refuse anything above 2 (unless located in the kennel zone). Ask mirawee about country, apparently even if you have craploads of land, you are still bound by the same rules!! Stupid if you ask me!
