I love both of my dogs but I have a totally different connection with my youngest. Ruby is our bitchy and she adores my OH and he adores her. I love her.. but she just doesn't connect with me the same as they do. I would never give her up as my OH adores her. Max who is 18 months is my heart dog.. I can't explain why I have stronger feelings for Max. He is also a one person dog.. he will only respond to me. My heart dog.

How Do You Get Past The Heartache Of Not Having A Dog?
:ange: replied to Bluefairy's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'd be moving. I wouldn't be able to not have my dogs period. How sad for you. -
A few more.. just loving taking macro bugs right now. It's nice taking something other than dogs for a change!!!

I just love coming into this thread to see what pics have been posted!! LOVE IT!! Here are two recent ones from mine..

When I read your post I automatically thought gundog.. I have two Weimaraner's and I haven't got a problem with either of their recalls. My girl was probably the hardest to train out of both of them. Like the GSP they are a slow maturing dog.. but such loons!! Ruby is nearly 3 and she has settled down so much in the last 12 months. They can dig and destroy if bored.. but if you can provide the exercise you say you can you would have the happiest Weimaraner in the world!!

If you are looking to buy a grey import you could definately try ebay. Another dealer I have bought from is DWI International who also offer a warranty and you are able to send the camera to an Australian repairer if you have a fault with the equipment.

Personally I wouldn't ask for money for a photo.. Would probably be inclined to say 'no thanks' if someone said 'for $10 I will give you this snapshot of your dog'. Somehow it reminds of the street barterers in Thailand! Now if someone came to you (like the lady in your post did) and offered you money for a shot - it's entirely up to you. A poor quality shot is not worth much to me.. I think once you are better (as in many years of experience with a camera) and understand the cameras to be much more than just a point and click with a "wow this takes awesome pics!" and you start consistently producing great photos, maybe then you could request a fee. Great pic by the way!

The photos above were taken with Kenko extension tubes fitted with the 50mm 1.8. They basically fit on your camera with the lens and increase the distance of your lens from the body which magnifies it. Kenkos are known as 'the poor mans macro' they're pretty cheap for a set, and come in three which you can interchange to make the magnification shorter or longer. Hope that kind of makes sense. They are pretty neat.

Thanks for being on the ball Tenille!! Was totally a test to make sure you were all awake!!

Huga.. your little boy is just divine!! he makes for the best photos!! I agree, totally love your editing! My main computer with ALL of my unbacked up photos went poof yesterday morning.. It's been rushed to the Computer Emergency Department. I hope they can recover photos I've taken. An even sadder note is that I've now lost my photoshop software. The package it came in was lost in the move (I think OH may have thrown out a heap of old software CDs he thought we didn't need and threw my photoshop disc out with it) Will probably have to start from scratch. Ugh. On a lighter note.. Kenkos arrived.. thought I'd share.. AMAZING little gadgets!!! I haven't had much time to play this morning but here are some shots from out in the garden! yay! Only took about 15 shots all up. Pity I didn't get the focus on his eyes

Hey Kirislin - I'm not sure how much she wants to spend or if she wants a camera she can stick in her pocket. I used to have something like this before I bought my DSLR Olympus SP 800 UZ It was really good with action shits and can do sequence shots fairly quickly as well. The only downside is the size of it. The zoom is pretty handy as well.

I am so excited to share some news that today my boy got his last points needed for his title at age 14 months. I am a newcomer to the showring and it has been a steep learning curve and turbulant past 12 months! So he is now Aust. Ch. Bromhund Fully Loaded (AI) Here he is today after gaining his title (in style of course - LAYING down when I went to stack him!!!) my heart dog. Max.

gorgeous shots Huga!! Here's some more that I have taken over the last few days.. pity about the shadow on his head..
-
Yay.. finally some pics to share!! I am in total love with this lens. Most of the pictures I'm taking are total crap because I'm still trying to work it out a bit.
-
So.. I've been playing around with it this morning. Here's one from the rose bed.. Will upload some more when I have some free time to play!
-
Purchased mine very own 1.8 today after drooling non-stop at all the photos on here and on POTN.. Also ordered some Kenko tubes so can't wait for them to arrive either!! YIIPPPEEEE!!!!

I'm loving all the patterson's curse out west at the moment.. we were coming home from a show and I stopped to snap some photos of my begrudgingly photogenic Weimaraner 'Max' sitting pretty in the patterson's!! And some others..
-
haha thanks Mandalay.. I was talking about the 27th September show for the actual Young show but apparently it's not being held this year. What a bummer!! I do, on the other hand, have my entry in for THAT Young show in Nov!!
-
Is this still on? I can't find anywhere in the gazette or online entries to submit an entry to... or am I blind..

These photos were taken at Mt Canobolas.. Normally when it snows (and if it hasn't settled in town) I love taking them up there for a quick run in it.. they go absolutely nuts for it!! Ruby has seen snow a few times but it was Max's first time and he was fairly unsure at first shaking his feet and being a bit of a girl.. but once he seen Ruby running around loving it he was all for it!! Thumbs down to the stupid idiot that attmepted to ram the gate (with his huge bullbar) in front of me.. He stopped when he realised I was watching him and had taken his numberplate down.. grrr.. Teebs.. The roads were all blocked off and I generally walk them up a bit and go down one of the back trails to get some good photos!! I was up there fairly early before the hundred of people came and churned all the dirt roads and snow up so was fairly good! By the time I was getting back there were a few people coming and you could see them struggling with it.. lilli_star.. I heard you guys didn't get much of a snowfall last year but 2008 was great snowfalls!!
-
Finally it snowed!!!! Dashed my pair up before the droves set in and we were luckily one of the first sets of footprints before it all turned to sludge!! What a beautiful winters day!! (sorry a few posey pictures.. the light was dim for action photos and I didn't want to take it out for very long due to rain/snow!! Mummeh, Iz Veruh Coooooollldd keep moving!! too cold for stops!! My stinkeye will hopefully get you stop clicking and moving woman - it's fuhreezing! gorgeous Ruby..
-
crating while you're not at home would definately stop the digging.. you could also try making sure they are pooped before you leave for the day so they want to sleep while you are out. Kongs to keep them entertained.Cut Cute pup btw!

Anyone from DOL heading out to Dubvegas this weekend? Does anyone know if numbers were being posted or picked up for this show? Thanks
