Going to be another "don't do it"-er. It isn't worth it for you, your friend and the bride-to-be. I really don't understand either how people say "Oh we aren't photo people". Maybe do a bit of research for the bride yourself into photographers and give her a list? I couldn't bear the thought of not having quality photos of my wedding day. Our photographer was AIPP accredited and thankfully was one of the first things I was looking for when hiring a photographer. If I am a guest at a wedding I don't take my camera.. It is not my job regardless of who they have hired. I am there to drink, eat and catch up with relatives - like any other guest. You don't have the gear to photograph a wedding - nor does your friend. What if your camera malfunctions right at the critical moment? Do you have a back-up body? What if you drop your lens and crack the glass, do you have another lens which can produce the same images? A work colleague got married and had her brother photograph for her.. A few days after the wedding the bride asked if I would mind taking some portraits of her alone as her brother had not taken any of her alone with her dress. I agreed and now she is asking me if I would mind taking more photos of her husband and her in their wedding outfits "because our brothers pics aren't what we had hoped for". Re-creating the special moments from their day is tough..

haha I'm like you Huga and never in any photos.. and I hate being in photos anyway. Definately manual focus is best.. I cheat often and have something in the photo with me and take the photo that way. Here's two I did during a workshop earlier in the year. Probably the last photos I have been in!! [/url]

Just remember as well that if you are the only dog to enter (or turn up) you are default to six points unless the challenge is not awarded..

Kja! How do you get so close to mum and bub? Were you diving and they happened to swim past? Was mum singing at all? I've heard they are quite loud up close when they are calling out.. For some reason whales scare me at the thought of being near them in the water - seeing them do flips and the thought of one of them jumping me crushing me is terrifying! As silly as that sounds!

I know you're probably asking KJA, Kirislin but I know people have heard them singing when they are standing on a beach, when the night is still and it's very quiet. When we heard them in Hawaii, we just dove down about a meter and could hear them..

All the above.. I showed my boy until he was Aust Ch.. now I just don't see any point in going. He's not Gr. Ch worthy and being my first show dog I pretty much ruined him. Most shows are an hour plus away and the cost of travelling isn't cheap.. I struggled to meet people my age in the ring - and those that were around my age not really interested in a newbie with her lone Weimaraner. Sometimes I felt downright silly for being there and people were laughing at me when I was struggling to get my boy to behave in the ring - he hated it. I enjoyed it very much in Perth as I knew a great group of people who were supportive of a newbie. Country NSW I just didn't get the same vibes. at all. There were a couple of great people I met (one who frequents DOL) but other than that, after a while I just turned up before we went in the ring and left straight after. I might do it again one day when I have room for another one.. but for now zero interest.
