At the time we enquired to import the 'physical' animal did not need to be in Australia. When we submitted to DogsNSW for the Slovakian to come in at the same time they changed the rules to say that the dog must be here....we were not about to spend the money on importing a new breed before recognised. Its a shame we could have got it going very very easily as we had the right connections and all...

Where do you live Swank? If you were in Sydney I would suggest you go and see a good vet like Rob Zammit and get a good opinion on it. If its been broken alot of times and has lost alot of feeling it could be a problem. However I do not think you would have an issue having it amputated if it is in the best interests of the dog, after all that is the law ! Narelle @ greydove kennels
