  1. Huge congrats Amanda (Shar Pei Rescue Inc) on your Master Rescuer of the Year award  You work incredibly hard and you fully deserve this recognition of your dedication
  2. Newfsie, I've only just seen this thread - our hearts go out to you You gave him a wonderful life with you and he couldn't have been a more loved or happier Newf. R.I.P. Tobias, run free sweetheart
  3. So sad for you and Toby to hear that Big hugs from our Newfy family to yours and a special hug for Toby
  4. Google Otto Step and check out their product. It's a step which slots into a standard towbar fitting and is far easier to store than a ramp or stairs ;) I got one for my ten year old Newfie (see testimonials on this site) and find it fantastic and it makes it very easy for her to get in and out of the car especially given that she has compressed vertebra and would be otherwise be confined to home :D
  5. I second that :D All my dogs love them even one of my younger Shar Pei who has to be one of the fussiest eaters on the planet
  6. Hi, I have two Newfoundlands and one of my Shar Pei who are accredited as Delta Therapy Dogs and another Shar Pei pup 'in training' I've been with Delta for six years now and we visit the kids hospital every Wednesday for ward rounds. We're also involved with the 'Pet Assisted Therapy' programme at the hospital where the dogs work one on one with kids in their physio sessions - these sessions are at other times during the week depending on patient's appointments. The highlight of my six years was working with a little brittle bones girl with Sophie one of my Newfies. Over the period of time we worked with her Sophie was involved with helping this little girl to learn to walk. It was awesome to be able to be involved with that family's journey I can't recommend the therapy work highly enough and I'm sure any of you who get involved will find the same If anyone would like any info please feel free to PM me
  7. Another vote for the X-Trail Love the false floor and storage drawer for all the leads. Heaps of room, floor folds completely flat and my Newfies and Pei all fit in Large crate fits in easily for when doing rescue transports and still room for another dog in the back as well
  8. Newfsie, was hoping to meet you on the 21st but Barney has just had surgery on his cruciate ligament (I think we repaid half the national debt LoL) and at over ten years of age this weather is too hot for Sophie :D We'll be at the next one though all being well, have fun
  9. Have only just seen this, so sorry to hear the stress you've all been under Poor Grover, hope he's enjoying being home and each day will see a big improvement
  10. Marnie and you are doing really well Little Tails Thank you again for the lovely photos and card you sent me, it was a beautiful thought and I'll treasure the photos As you know I have a real soft spot for the blacks

There are no words Pandii - I'm sitting here in tears feeling your pain and wish I could do or say something to ease it for you Just know that we're all with you in spirit and there are lots of caring shoulders when you need one RIP Tyson - know you are loved
  12. She's looking great Little Tails Can't believe how much she's grown since she first came here as a two and a half week old pup!!!!!
  13. How are you and Marnie going Little Tails? :D
  14. You're very welcome sweetheart, enjoy her She's a lovely black girl like my Maddie, you'll have lots of fun watching her grow up and training her. I had a lot of fun (and lack of sleep LoL) raising the pups but that first photo you posted of yourself with Marnie is what it's all about and what makes it so worthwhile - a happy owner and a wonderful forever home for a lovely pup Say hi to Auntie Squish for me
  15. Congratualations Tameka!! I'm sure all will be well and you're going to have a lot of fun with this pup Enjoy and have a lovely Christmas
  16. It's a hard call and I don't envy you. The general advice is to not take her and have a different puppy and that is probably the sensible thing to do. However, having said that I'm a soft touch and would still take her, albeit at a reduced price and monitor regularly. If as your vet says it will clear by 12 wks, all well and good, if it doesn't she still will need a home and a loving family and will most probably enjoy a normal life. I have a foster boy, 6mths old with a mild heart murmur at the moment and believe me he's not compromised in any way LoL At the end of the day, take into consideration what you want out of this puppy - are you wanting to show or do agility etc - and then go with your gut instinct and what feels right. That's probably not much help and is at the end of the day how I would feel and I'm not in your situation
