I dont have a crate, but do have a kennel which i spose could somehow put a front on it, in the garage she is inside (its internal to the house) but in that meaning its no where near the yard. I am unable to put her in the yard at the moment while the husky is there, and its not near the garage. Its a lot of time isnt it to have her in the crate if I crate train her? or do u only crate train her over night, then do something else during the day? over night she is pretty good its more during the day while I am at work that she goes all over the garage

Thanks I thought about the crate, but wouldnt she then get used to sleeping inside all the time etc?? as in long term she will be outside. I am at work during the day so unable to take her out until I come home at lunch, she seems to be able to hold on really well, 7 hours one night when she stayed in my friends laundry!! I do take her out a lot more when I am with her, and we do have a word, and she seems to know it, its just that she doesnt seem to need to go that often, and when she does she waits till I have gone etc!!

Hi I got a new rhodesian ridgeback puppy at nearly 7 weeks old, I have bed her down in my garage (2 car but long ways) and she has been great. she doesnt cry over night etc, but as we have the whole run of the garage, she is currently peeing and pooing where ever. I take her out as often as I can when I am home, but she is not going as much anymore now as she knows she can go in the comfort in her own time in the garage! Should i confine her space down in there? and put paper down? (as the concrete isnt that easy to clean) i do have a kennel in there for her and she loves that now! She will be an inside dog for a little while, especially while so young, and its freezing outside down here (Tasmania) AND my flat mate has a husky pup (6 months) which is not very well trained at all, so I keep pup inside (I have a big house!) but i walk her out onto my deck, and onto the grass, which she is cool with doing, but she doesnt go to the toilet much outside as she seems to wait until she is inside! Any idea's, just want to make sure I train her early!
