  3. Me neither. I can't even whistle, without fingers. Which is why yelling is so important for me! It why the bottom of my car is littered with sports whistles. Note to self: Buy sports whistle. But all the practice has made me good at yelling. So long as it's a yellable name. I can see missmoo & OH testing names by yelling them out in the back yard. don't laugh that is the way we a heading...the man is hard to please
  4. luv it altho my OH is so sure.....
  5. that's exactly my husbands thinking. he wants a name you can yell out that doesn't take forever to say...

  10. my then 2 year old black labrador I was asked if he was a stafford x rotti
  11. ok I have tried Revolution in the past and didn't like, but I am not a fan of the topical typed treatments for flees, heartworm etc... have you tried the exelpet range....i know it is a supermarket sold brand but my vet says it's ok ( I dont use now but used to without problems)
  12. a friend of mine has a mastiif x and she has had a limp for years now with no diagnosis... vets, specialists etc are unable to find why she limps.... I know this is no help but sometimes a cause is not found or is very difficult to pin point... hope you find out what it is
  13. have you tried ValueHeart.... monthly tablet its around $13 for 6 tablets for dogs 20-30kg
  14. Oh dear NicoleL, That is awful.... Unfortunately brain tumours sneak up with no or little symptoms until it's too late...I do sincerley hope this isn't the cause of Shilo's illness Praying to the doggie spirits for Shilo when will you know if there is a tumour? edited for spelling
  15. Grenade Rifle Pistol Tank Barrack Ammo Alpha (as in Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo etc) Battalion Blooker (M79 grendae launcher) Brigade Bronze Star
  16. what about a portable pet door... the type I am talking about just fits in with your sliding door.. dog doors or dog doors not sure how much tho
  17. what about Black Hawk not sure if it will do for you but you can ask the distributor
  18. best of luck to Em and yourself... it can be very hard emotionally to watch and try to get your dog healthy again... hopefully all will work out for Em health wise and emotinally and financially for you
  19. You've answered your own question when you said "If I'm honest I don't think now is the right time". If you are in 2 minds on what to do then don't get the little guy...you will know when the time is right to get another dog. Right now from what you have written your decision is based on emotions; not that that is a bad thing it just shouldn't be the only thing to consider. Can you really give this pup what he needs? Deaf dogs take more time and energy, especailly if he is in his critical period. If you feel you can, great!, but my advice would be to contact a qualified trainer who has experience in training deaf dogs...hand signals are good but there is soooo much more you need to know and be able to do for the rest of the pups life. good luck with your decision
  20. My 2 aren't allowed to lick the plates but any scraps may be given to them in their food bowls...they aren't allowed to hang around while we eat...my labrador drools a lot when we eat and my OH finds it off putting...they both have a "scram" command which means to go away and don't hover while we eat...my kelpie x usually doesnt hang around..years of experience has taught her she won't be getting anything anyway.... I understand what you mean when you say about melting eyes...my lab boy has is down to a fine art....
  21. could be a cyst, could be a grass seed or small piece of wood or stick that has embedded itself....idoes it feel hard or soft and squishy? vet will be able to tell you more....without being able to look and feel everything is just a guess.. good luck....hopefully it is just something minor
  22. you could try a supatuff harness, they are really tuff and are ideal for water as they do not rot or mildew..i use one for my Lab boy when I want to put him back on lead at the beach but still let him swim. they retail for around $65....if you want something longlasting and waterproof this is ideal
