  1. In the last week, my 14 week old pup has been drinking from her water bowl and then putting hew paw in it and splashing the water out. At first I thought it was cute.. until it started happening everytime! I changed her bowl over and changed water frequently but she still does it! Ive tried a smaller bowl and still happens.. Its annoying because she gets all wet and im continuelsy mopping the floor up. Ive taken the water away for 5 minutes and have said "no" etc.. Any suggestions?
  2. I had lucy in the laundry for the first week of having her. Didnt like it very much either, i gave her some toys (kong with stuffing) etc.. I was out for maybe 4 hours max.. Our laundry is quite small though and she was very tiny at that stage.. I dont leave her outside yet because im just worried she'll eat something she shouldn't etc (im just paranoid though hehe), so when im out i leave her inside downstairs with the stairs blocked off. I just leave out plenty of toys! You will find that the puppy will sleep most of the time though. What kind of puppy is he?? Lucy was and still is quite behaved when we go out. You could probably leave your dog outside if the weather was nice though and he had plenty of shelter and a nice warm place to sleep. It also depends how long you will be out for too.
  3. Botheration, I just bought sentinel spectrum off ebay, cheaper :D
  4. na not at all, as long as the meat/chicken is fresh then this is better for them ;)
  5. Hello Aimee ;) I introduced Lucy to raw chicken breasts and chicken necks when she was 10 weeks. I only gave it for dinner and would cut the necks up into small pieces. I probably do this every second night. I also grate some carrot on top of the chicken breast. Im endulging her with the breast fillets, i might have to get some thigh! hehe
  6. Woah, Jen thats very interesting!!! She saved your life!
  7. Hang tight there, let the vet work out whats happened. He will be ok, stay positive ok!

  9. thanks guys, ill try some new techniques!
  10. She is going very well! She has real personality too, she can be very sweet or very cheeky! But none the less she is beautiful and I adore her. It will be great to watch them grow up together! Hows house training going?? hehe
  11. My 12 week old puppy has had her collar on for just over a week now and has taken to that very well. I introduced the lead today and all she wanted to do was chew on it. I know this is pretty common. I tried to distract her, let her walk around freely with it, played with her and gave her treats but nope, still wanted to chew it. Even when Im holding it up high she still manages to get a hold of it. Ive heard you can use bitter tasting stuff on the lead to stop them chewing but I was just wondering if any one has any better suggestions?? Thanks
  12. Aww Aimee! Ruby is so gorgeoussss! I am bias because shes a blenheim cavalier!! All the pups are beautiful though!! Here is Lucy, taken last week at 10 weeks. Shes growing up!!
  13. Hello Aimee! Congrats on your new pup, we need to see pics!!! Lucy started Puppy school last night (her first session). Out our vet they wanted to start of with dog interaction, taking them off their leads and see how they interact. We then started basic training (eg sit stay come etc..) We went over toilet training, food and collars/leads etc.. This is all I know so far as I have only attended 1 session. It is really interesting and fun to see how your dog interacts with other pups. You will enjoy it. Im sure others will be able to tell you about their experiences, so far mine has been good

  15. Phew!! lucky!! I was at the emergency vet in adelaide a couple of sat nights ago with my little one too! Expensive consult fees.... ah the things we do for our babies
  16. That is really unfortunate When i got lucy just over 2 weeks ago now, she got very sick after 4 days, turned out to be gastro but required her to stay at the vet for 2 days on a drip, they did xrays, bloods etc... cost me just as much as she did! Vet bills are not cheap! But she was worth it, shes all better now. But in your case, it seems never ending. The breeder did offer you another pup which i think is fair but i do understand your reasoning behind sending her back to the breeder, especially because you have formed a bond with her. However, in all honesty, no matter how nice people are, doesnt mean they did nothing wrong. If i were you i would have been concerned about all these little ailments... a breeder would know what is genetic also...just seems a little bit suss to me. I do hope your darling gets better, there is nothing worse than seeing a pup go through these unwell times All the best
  17. lol!! Its a funny pic.. He came on the screen and she stopped what she was doing as was in a daze... I named her teddy orlando so she could ravage him and have her way with him!!! Botheration, Martha is beautiful! I love labs! If i had a bigger house/yard I would def get a Lab!
  18. thanks benshiva! She is a cheeky girl tho!!! hehehe Darcy and Trouble are adorable. I just want to gobble them up!!!

  20. Yeah, shes 8 weeks old I just tried to feed her and she only had a little, she also had a little bit of diarrhea... she seems to be ok but just really tired at the mo. we had a bit of a play before but her energy level wasnt as high as usual. might just keep an eye on her and see what shes like 2moro. ive made sure she had water to drink so she wouldnt get dehydrated. she ate very well yesterday and was very lively! hope my baby will be ok!!
  21. hi all im actually experiencing this also.. she didnt have much to eat this morning and has been sleeping all through the morning and afternoon and when ive gone to rouse her shes too dopey and falls back asleep, now im worried that i couldnt feed her lunch.. is it bad for a pup to miss a meal or 2?? *paranoid*
  22. Ohh thank you for your advice!!! yeah i think thats what i have to do!
  23. hey bailey, thanks!! shes a cavalier king charles the brand of dry food is advance. being a first time mum aint easy!!
  24. yeh i think so. im going to start to include more into her diet as of 2moro. ive only had her home for 4 days and didnt want to upset her stomach. what kind of things should i include? ive got dry food ready which was from the breeder but also thought putting some finely chopped veggies in her food with some boiled rice or something?
  25. thanks all for your replies. she finally pooped! twice.. shes on chicken mince at the mo, just feeding what the breeder did. her belly wasnt hard at all... i think i was just paranoid... first time mother and all!! but she is on 3 meals a day hence why i was worried cos where was it all going!! but all is fine now. thank you all again!!
