There was a thread on here a few months ago on that topic. Some of the suggestions that I have since used are: Chicken hearts or livers - lightly microwaved to be less squishy. Cheese Diced apple, carrot or sweet potato. I was a bit dubious about this 1, but it turns out my guys all eat it quite happily. Dehydrated Liver Kngaroo Mini Roasts or steaks, cooked and diced Jackpot rewards can be raw chicken wings or necks, cans of sardines. At the Adelaide Pet Expo there was a stand with someone selling natural pet treats. They are available in the Supermaket but I forget the brand name :rolleyes: They had lamb crumbles which my guys loved. Hope that helps, try doing a search and you may find the old thread. Can someone please tell me if there is a brand of dry dog bone chews (like supermarket Lucky dog bones),which can be bought in lrg.boxes that is ok to feed as an extra treat maybe one biscuit per day. With my last dog I used bonnie original (not available now).also 4x2 s maybe it was 3x2 s,but are there others available. This dog RR. has sensitive tummy. I have been looking after him for 4mths and kept him on supercoat which his owner was feeding him but added VIP chicken and rice roll as my other dogs were having it.But now after a few months of normal poo s has had 2 bouts of runny poo s 3 weeks apart, have stopped the VIP for the moment and added cooked chicken and rice instead .

I am fostering a Ridgeback and have been feeding him Super coat with VIP as well as bones but he has had two bouts of blood in his stools 3 weeks ago and again yesterday.In between time completely back to normal stools then the runs with blood.The vet said it may be sensetive stomach reacting to preservitives. So am changing his diet whilst waiting for blood results. Has anyone had this reaction from VIP rolls?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop an 18mth old Labrador from chewing everything. She has plenty of chew toys but gets into mischief overnight she pulls and tears the mats on the trampoline dog beds so have had to take them away as we live in cold climate our older dog with shorter hair allways wears a dog coat in the winter but she pulls and tears that.I cant sleep them seperate and they are very close but she just wrecks everything.I have tried the bad tasting sprays on the things I dont want her to touch but it does not seem to deter her.

Sorry for the delay in reply but have had computer problems. Thanks for the reply,this is very similar to what my vet thought. Everything was going along ok and he semed to be allmost back to normal but as I have had to decrease the Macrolone tablets gradually this last few days he does not seem as well. He seems to be loosing weight despite his great appetite.(he is allways looking for food everytime I go outside he hopes its feed time).He is now having 2 tablets every second day the week before it was 1 morning and night each day.I will be taking him in to the vet tomorrow to see what is happening, but it seems like it will be ongoing.

Hi,I am the owner of a 7 yr old Rhodesian ridgeback dog who was perfectly well on Wednesday night but on the following morning was standing head down and tail tucked just standing looking unwell and seemed very light sensetive with his eyes. After a trip to the vet and having blood tests and xrays and generally checked over was kept for observation.Next morning he was very stressed would not stand still and and kept walking into things and kept putting his head into a corner and was very unsteady on his feet. At this stage the vet decided without the blood results that it was a neurological problem.He continually walked around the yard and had to be sedated to get him to lie down .He was given an injection of Colvasone and by this stage without the advantage of scans and up to date tests the vet was doubtful if he would survive the night.But the next morning the improvement was unbelievable and after a further injection the following night and being put on Macrolone tablets a week later he is back to normal. The vet seems to think it must have been an alergic reaction which targetted the auto amune system in the brain.Has anyone had a similar experience as it just happened overnight and has us baffled.
