it may impact on rehoming perfectly fantastic dogs. This is a real worry - here's hoping it doesn't.

I agree - looks like dark chocolate - beautiful colour whatever it is.

I'ld stick with Fidos if it suits your dog. I have never had any problems with it - used it on various dogs over the years. Cheers

Sorry I don't have any pics of Balou on my puter (will have to do something about that one day). He is 12 years old now so not the beauty he was 'cept in my eyes of course. My other favorite breed which I normally have one of is Border Collie. Sadly they have all passed on over the last couple of years and I only have this precious time left with Balou. Good mix of breeds - one rounds them up and the other holds em!!! Good luck with your pup.

Lucky lucky you - another 'Slice of Heaven' -
She is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Smart too - that's also my Dobe's favourite spot in hot old Darwin. Thanks for sharing.

As molasseslass pointed out the risk is, especially with some breeds, that the pups will focus on each other and not listen to their humans thereby turning into run amoks. Of course it can be done but it is much easier when you have an older (pup tolerant) dog to help set some boundaries and show good example. I too have kept two pups from one litter (Dobes) and I don't think I would do it again. You will need to have a plan for raising training etc and stick to it IMHO.

Poor pillows, poor green dragon :D :D

I'll 2nd that. Years ago my old BC, Shine, had a joey wallaby underneath my slightly elevated house. The joey was trying to get into her "pouch". Shine was looking very concerned and was licking the joey and trying to toilet it. I couldn't get under the house to retrieve the joey so I asked Shine to bring the baby to me and she nosed it all the way out to me! I took the joey to the local wildlife carer and Shine seemed happy enough with that. But then, I also had a BC who would lie on the floor between the cat and the cat's full bowl. Wouldn't eat the food 'cause she knew she wasn't allowed but wouldn't let the cat eat it either! Yes BC's are funny critters - gotta luv 'em.

Just watched this. Very interesting - well worth a look. Gotta luv that smarty pants Border Collie!

Anyone Used Alpha Keri Oil In Dogs Bath?
Kynta replied to 4 Paws's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I used Alpha Kerri when I was showing Dobes as well. Just had to be careful not to use too much but it certainly kept their coats nice. -
google biodynamic gardening - totally non toxic and really works.

Most of my boy Dobes have been submarines but my Popcorn was exactly like this girl!! The look on her face was priceless like Ewww Boy Germs!

If you can have some chooks (if your dogs are chook friendly) they can really help to reduce the problem.

Unfortunately I have rellies and friends who think they can come and visit me on the farm and bring their dogs for a romp. Pigs bum, I say.
-
And don't you just love it when they t-bone each other? You cringe waiting for the cracking of bones but they just grin at each other and do it again! I had two Dobes that used to do that. They would be doing zoomies in the yard then change directions going around the house each a different way till they met chest to chest in the air and then grin at each other before starting over again. They thought it was hilarious!

Don't have a photo but I have a large crate for my Dobe, Balou (he's 12 years old). It is in the lounge room and is left open for him to come and go as he pleases. Usual contents are several squeaky toys, sometimes a sock, a hair scrunchie - I even found a toothbrush in there one day. Yes that is 12 YEARS old not 12 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best of luck with him whatever you decide. Cheers Kynta
