Chloe loved anything ball. My old Dobe (12 years) still adores his squeeky toys.

Just a hint that might help with training frustration - many years ago, when I was young, an obedience instructor told me that if you ever felt you were getting angry or frustrated with training your dog just call them Darling ("Darling, please don't do that" or "What are you doing there, Darling?"). It just doesn't come out gruff - works for horses too - calms the whole situation down. Good luck with your Collie. I bet you have heaps of success.

Beautiful pics. Wow your horse looks great for 30 years - and I love the sharing of food! -
Dog With Possible 1080 (fox Bait) Poisoning?
Kynta replied to Wilderblu's topic in General Dog Discussion
Damn. That's so horrible for the poor dog. And your friend leading the good life and doing the 'organic' thing too - that's so unfair. Here's hoping and praying for a good outcome. -
RIP Tammy. Bless you for loving her in her twilight years. Take care.

We're talking about lost animals here, not those knowingly dumped by, for example, foreign students returning home (a big problem in Melbourne). I agree that there's no substitute for responsible pet ownership, but saying that it's unrealistic for Councils to provide animal welfare services is like saying that it's unreasonable to expect Councils to provide public libraries. It's all part of the service they provide in exchange for collecting rates. And don't forget dog registration fees.

Way too cute!! Sure looks to me like you have lost your bean bag.

It's great that you found DOL. As you will already know you get some good info here. Now you know how tricky these (breeders ) can be you can spread the word. Oh and don't forget to enjoy your puppy.
-
That's good info Ellz - thanks for posting. By the way all you DOLERS should know his 'thing' is not all those names you have been calling it - you know its LIPSTICK! :p
-
Oh no. Fingers crossed that the reason can be found and she can be helped to a full recovery. It's terrible when you can't keep the weight on them. Hugs to you and your little one.

Good luck openarms. Best wishes for a good outcome for your boy.

Positive Thoughts Needed For Dear Porridge

Here's hoping for a full and speedy recovery. -
SHAME!! :D My dogs fortunately do it in the one spot, no sniffing or mucking about. Although I can't watch Mags when she poos because she'll snap it off and save the rest for later. She also pees while she's walking and there's been numerous times where she's pissed on my foot :/ :)

My Dobes have always recognised their own breed. I had one Dobe who hated Standard Poodles and to this day I don't know why. He hadn't had any bad encounters that I was aware of (and I never picked up on any poodle poking their tongue at him but maybe)!

Thanks for wake up call. It could not have been too easy writing that post. How scary! Thank goodness Fletcher is safe.

Rooms or Roomy (as in room mate). He's very cute Border Lover. Congratulations - enjoy your new pal.

So very very sorry Reg couldn't stay. RIP old fella. Hugs to you IG and to your friend. You did an amazing job. -
Problem is, no-one of my "own-kind" could possibly be as honest; as forgiving; as non-judgemental; as ready to go for a walk/play/work when I am; as happy to share and rejoice in quiet company with me; as happy to watch the same TV shows with me, without quibble; as stoic in the face of discomfort/ill health; and as ever-ready to thrill in the sheer joy of life for every moment life provides (even though we're not going away on holidays or doing anything unusual); as my dog is. Well said, Erny. Could you imagine a whole world filled with people who have no close association with dogs. I don't think that would be the kind of planet I would like to live on.

Oh wow! What a lucky dog. Thanks for the story.

How very sad. R.I.P. Toby. You will be very much missed.

I did offer him sardines once and he walked away... - Bless him! I have also nursed a dog with cancer and I fed her the cold pressed flaxseed oil. It is kept in the fridge at the chemist. Can't comment on the ground seeds though ............. off to do some research.
