Well, I'm off to pet expo. I'm going to check out the show ring, the breeds and the breeders. The show ring has never interested me before, now I'm curious. Looking forward to it and seeing good examples of the breed.

I knew they were bleached and from china, but never thought about that- could be true though. Would they be able to export them though?

Does any know anything or had any experience with the Tellington TTouch? And is there anyone in Vic that does it?

I can agree with all these points. And am reminded of a local story that, as the dog was being PTS for biting the kid, they noticed (too late) that the kid had put a bunch of staples in the dog's ear. Dogs should not be blamed for trying to protect themselves against torture by children. The statistics for attacks on children need careful review. I agree. Children don't always understand that animals don't follow human rules of behavior and habits. More education and supervision.

Morning show on channel 9 doing a story on purebred dogs vs designer mutts after 8am. This will be interesting.

I went all through this myself, looking for ethical companies. The only one I came up with was Eagle Pack. However I do switch to Nutro every few months. There ain't too many companies that have never tested on animals. I am not a product person and I do try. I carry the ethical shopping guide around with me. As far as how much to feed, well what's on the pack is only a guide line. I feed less on EP than with Nutro. As far as the above mentioned they are

I talk to Joe public everyday about this. I have found that there is only handful who seek purebred pedigree dogs for whatever their reason. A larger handful who prefer to adopt from a shelter and the rest go on looks. Temp and health doesn't enter their criteria.

Yes. Just looked it up. A sedative herb. They call it natures valium.( Similar to catnip). Another option. I only had a quick look, do you know the dosage rate?

Thanks. I just need something to take the edge off. Rescue remedy didn't work and came a cross this. She has her annual check up in the next couple of weeks so will also mention it to the vet. Her fear of storms and fireworks is getting worse, goes into complete meltdown. It's only since our weather has changed.

I have met a few dogs that do this. From pups to older dogs. Been told by some that it's best to ignore it. Is there any way to over come this?

When I was looking for a career change I looked into grooming. I went around to different salons in different suburbs just to check them out. I was also given the opportunity to have a chat and hang around some of the salons to see if it was the way I wanted to go. I was gobbed smacked at the types of breeds that were getting their whole coats shaved off. Yes it's personal choice but I just didn't get it. Anything from German Shepherds, Huskies, Golden Ret, Poms and the list goes on. And the poor little fluffies, their heads and tails looked good but their little bodies were pink under what little fluff they had left. Too short IMO. Wasn't for me. Couldn't stand the noise of the dryers and the fact that they were kept in cages with the dryers on them.

Nutro Natural Choice is made in Aust. the rice is monsoonal rain fed crops from Thialand. I use this for 6 months and then swap over to Eagle pack. You do occasionaly here about recalls usually from products that are made o.s. I use chicken or fish as the main ingredient as red meat brings mine out in hives. They also get chicken carcass, sardines and salmon.
