  16. In defence of Gundagai (thanks Poodlefan for mentioning it), it is DEFINITELY easier in the new location than previously right in the middle of the horses!!!! I have been asking for an alteration to the perimeter fence, but with all the damage caused by the December floods, we were lucky to have a show this year, let alone getting alterations. Hopefully it will happen for next year. We are lucky we can boast lovely full size rings for everyone and some catering. I know the Society has secured a grant, so hopefully a new toilet block is on the agenda too. So there's lots of plans for improvements. (Anyone got any other suggestions for improvements???) Am open to all ideas to pass on to the committee. As an exhibitor, I agree the Tumbarumba weekend is a beauty now it has Bethungra, and more so now that the cattle railing has been removed. It makes parking a lot easier. Praise also to Morsha and her helpers on the Albury showground canteen. It's a great effort. Two of my favourites are The Rock and Ardlethan (although the Ard Royal needs some imagination for toilet facilities!!!!). Relaxed atmosphere and we always do the picnic thing. Great spots for taking photos too! But I think Thurgoona comes up trumps all round. Sensational!
  17. OK folks, there seems to be a bit of confusion about closing dates for these shows. My phone has been busy! Gundagai was due for closing last Friday and Henty is due this Friday, even though Henty is on before Gundagai. So... if you have accidentally mixed up the dates, entries for Gundagai need to be posted quickly!!!! Details for both shows are in the NSW December journal. Looking forward to seeing you all at these shows!
  18. Just a gentle reminder for those that put aside the December journal as they were busy organising Christmas festivities -- It's time to get into entering show mode! There are a number of shows in Sthn NSW with entry closing dates coming up very soon. If you would like to show in Feb/March and haven't sent entries, please dust off your pens or printers ASAP and get those entries in the post.
  19. There have been numerous road closures around the southern area today. There hasn't been any more rain since late morning, but the Murrumbidgee is on the rise again. Hopefully many of those roads will be open again tomorrow? Not sure of all council areas, but Wagga City Council updates road closures on its website and Gundagai done the same today. Not sure about Narrandera. The following link was also updated on BOM tonight: http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.pl?IDN36628.html Safe travelling everyone!
