My vet swears by tick collars. They work so much better than flea collars. He said his dog was always picking up ticks in Bundaberg but once he started using the collar he had no more problems. We have heaps of ticks here so we are going to invest in some guinea fowl, they love them.

I have used everything known to man. I recently moved into a new house & all my dogs ended up with fleas. I had a litter of pups & they all ended up with fleas as well. I used frontline spray but still the fleas remained. I also treated bedding, yard, house & even the car. When I took my pups to the vet for their vaccinations the vet actually took pics to give to the frontline rep as my pups were still covered in fleas. The vet suggested I use Fidos shampoo, a capstar tablet & I also gave them a Sentinel tablet. With my adults dogs I have found that advantage works much better than frontline. Thank heavens we are now flea free again!!!

Thanks for that. I get asked questions like these when I take my dogs to parks & if I can help educate maybe I can help save a dog. Appreciate the constuctive info.

. Anything less than 100% AST blood .... its NOT an AST its just a cross bred dog. AST with 100% AST blood that finds itself born to a back yarder and thus having NO pedigree Paperwork to prove its parentage can find itself subject to the BSL. BUY registered, save yourself the Drama. I understand what your saying. I own 4 papered amstaffs but was wanting to know if a person has a dog that is 1/2 amstaff & can prove that its amstaff parent is papered how do they stand with BSL. PS I'm not condoning byb just trying to learn to keep my dogs as safe as I can.

I know a lot of dogs can't swim. I believe staffys struggle at times as they are balls of muscle & muscle doesn't float. Throw on some fat & maybe they'll float In saying that all my amstaffs swim pretty well. Just need time to perfect the technique.

Hi all, Sorry I know this is off topic but I'm still learning all the bits & pieces of BSL. Just a question, if a dog has 1/4 amstaff in it is it still on the restricted list, or if a dog is 1/2 amstaff & can prove it is Amstaff is it also restricted?? Sorry again but I thought this may be the best place to find out.
