Me too Ams, black dogs and pups I havent had any trouble finding homes for. I've found Brindle adults the most difficult to find a good home for. Even just walking the Brindle boofa's I see how people give us a wide berth (watch out thats a guard dog! ) yet walking same breed type in tan they walk by comfortably. I wasnt aware of the black dog with white feet being bad luck, its interesting :D

Oh how terribly sad for all of you My heart goes out to you and the children who witnessed it. Reassure them there was nothing they could do and thank god their efforts to help didnt get them bitten. My thoughts are with you and your lost doggies

Thankyou, thankyou thankyou!! I appreciate all your replies. Roxy is a 4 month old Lab X pup. I have been trying to find information for months, I should have just asked here first! Decision made, I will wait and see if she still needs surgery after her first season. After seeing Electra's photo's Id like to spare her that pain if at all possible, poor girl looked so sore Roxy hasn't had any vaginitis or Uti's so far. There doesnt seem to be any irritation or excess moistness either.

It is also called inverted vulva. Has anyone experienced this with their pup? Internet research leads me to believe its best to allow them one season prior to desexing as this usually rights the problem as the vulva swells/develops during the heat cycle. Other side of the coin says do corrective surgery at 6mths prior to her coming into season as allowing your bitch a heat cycle increases her chance of cancer later in life. My only interest is ensuring this gorgeous girl doesnt get recurrent UTI's from her condition and to ensure if pre season surgery is the way to go then it be done by a vet who has experience in this type of surgery. She hasn't had any uti's so far. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Caz..

I got a call today to take Ruger in for testing on 16/3.... so we'll see how he goes! He's still only young at 14mths so can be a bit goofy if he's in a silly mood. -
Im still struggling to picture this or how it works Is it for any breeds or only littlies?

So sorry to hear pers It sounds like Freddie had a fantastic life, he reminds me of my old Tammy with the grey muzzle. RIP Freddie

What lovely pictures! Pia is beautiful, I love her gentle face. What a lucky little kitty to have such a nice family to grow up in.

Yep, Lani too. Doesnt even look at us till she has a 'present'. She parades around wiggling like crazy poking us with whatever toy it is she has grabbed

Oh how tragic That poor family. Imagine having to deal with the anger you would feel at the same time as shock and grief if that was done to your dog, just terrible. RIP Target

Tammy The 19yo Kelpie X From Canterbury Pound
Cazstaff replied to Cazstaff's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
It has been 1 year today since Tammy came to live with us We feel so very lucky to have her as part of our family and really didnt expect to have her for this long! She is 18 years old now and I think she is healthier than she was a year ago. My only worry with her is she has started to eat non food things...plastic, cardboard (oh how she loves cardboard), paper, pegs, shoe lace, rubber band/hair elastic, bits of her bedding, toys .... I have to keep a close eye on her and make sure nothing is left where she can get it. So heres to a few more happy years of love and laughs and lessons (mine not hers!)with our amazing Nana dog Tammy :D We all love you to bits Tammy, Im so proud of you my pretty lady -
Horsley Park Boarding Kennels I have used them numerous times. They are nice people, Im always welcome to go to the run with my dog if I want to, accompanied by a staff member of course, they are happy to show you around but they do have limited open hours for the comfort of the guests :D All the dogs bark like mad when anyone goes in so obviously they dont want that happenning over and over. Probably the best reference for the place comes from my dogs, particularly Sharni, she can't wait to get out of the car when we get there to go and say Hello, she barely gives me a glancing goodbye as she bounces of with the girl.

I must be odd but I actually like dog smell ;) I find it comforting So long as I know my house is clean and my dogs and their bedding is clean I have no problem with it.
-
Oh they are so beautiful !! I love all the soft white fur with the red Christmas hats.

Skipper is just tooo cute! I love the pic of him with Oscar. Aren't JRT's awesome puppies, they have absolutely no idea they are tiny

;) She is such a loving girl and has had a bit of a growth spurt Cyn, Im sure she could put a paw on your shoulder and see clear over your head!! They are 11 mths old tomorrow , where has that time gone
-
Im so glad to hear he is home Cyn . Tummy bugs can really knock you around so imagine how lousy a little guy like Danny would be feeling :p and he is a male! Isn't it in their genes to milk a situation like this it for all the little extra's its worth? ;) Healing & Happy vibes being sent your way Danny! Get that tail up and smile at your worried mum :p

Puppies! yummm Mina & Maisie Grubby :p Sharni pup Storytime for puppies I have soooo many puppy pics, they bring back lovely memories. My handsome Ruger and his sister Charlotte Last one, Remy asleep on big old Rocko I'd better stop now :p

Middle size ones in the bath with Leah, saves my back and yes Leah has a shower after . Tiny dogs or pups in the laundry tub and the Xlarge ones like Charlotte, Rocko & Harold or double & long coats like Ruger & Sharni I take to the DIY Hydrobath with my own shampoo/conditioner. Rescues (except young pups) are washed at the DIY Hydrobath with F10 shampoo before coming home regardless of size. I dont have regular bath intervals, just when they need it or before they go to their new home.

Oh Cyn, how scary for you, poor little Danny Sounds like he is on the improve, sending him lots of healing vibes. Im watching this post for the good news that he is well enough to come home and indulge himself in some serious Mother Moocher TLC.

I was thinking exactly that T, I love love love it! Might just wait and see if there are any others, Will said the camera people had taken lots of stills of him, they all loved him.

Rocko was recently cast in a short film and these are 2 pics taken of him lying around the set between shoots by one of the camera guys.. The first one makes me teary, he was looking up at me with those gorgeous eyes. I love this big lug sooooo much He found a patch of soft ground cover outside, perfect for a quick snooze. He wasn't used to working so hard or being awake for so long!
