  1. YES but only if both parents carry the recessive "e" gene. Puppies will be genetically tricolour but phenotypically red/tan/cream as black coat pigment cannot be expressed. e_e reds can occur in Cardigan Welsh Corgis, Border Collies, and are the standard colour in Labrador Retrievers/Golden Retrievers and certain other breeds. e_e red puppies are born clear red and will never have any black in their coat. Most "normal" red puppies have an overlay of darker coat at birth which clears to red or tan with the adult coat. Thus e_e red pups must be identified at birth by the absence of any black in their coat. This ^^^^
  2. Anyone know where to send them now that Dr Wyburn is ill? My xrays are on the way to WA and obviously they will now be returning. I haven't used anyone else for almost a decade. I imagine I'm going to have to go back to the vet to get them to sign whatever new form I need but are there any other option than via the AVA etc?
  3. If you're going to post something breed specific, be accurate... From the standard: The amount of white will typically affect the amount of pigment on a newborn, those with more often take a little longer to fill in, in my personal experience with Aussies. But don't forget there are types of 'white', eg a samoyed and perhaps even a poodle is actually caused by a different gene to the white patterning of other breeds such as mine.
  4. Hi A friend has recently moved here from Europe and would love to join in any clubs/activities in the Muswellbrook area. I'm not sure how far they'd be willing to go, but perhaps include any Lower Hunter/Newcastle clubs that could help. Obedience, agility, tracking, herding etc
