  1. Hi, YOU SAID " I signed Terms and Conditions" and did not receive them. If you signed Terms and Conditions you did receive them, But maybe not read them. I feel for you and I hope all goes well
  2. Hi, Unless you have insurance (contract) that covers injuries such as this you may be hard pressed to get compensation. Accidents do happen and it is very unfortunate it happened to your pup. I hope he recovers soon. Petra and Felix
  3. Hi, Sorry to hear that your baby is not well. I will not suggest anything, but for you to wait for the bloodtest from the vet. Loosing 5kg in 10 days is an enormous amount of weight but again let the Vet decide what to do especially since he detected a mass in her bowls. I hope everthing will be fine. All the best Petra and Felix
  4. Hi again, Why not ask a Vet what he thinks? Although i think a vet would probably not sell in bulk since they would not ne making a profit selling in bulk. Petra and Felix
  5. Hi. You may want to read up on the original "Barf" owner and may be surprised. Google please. No more dry food for my dogs. Dogs since ancient history have not lived on dry food. Why now? Convenient yes. Healthy? I don't know what's really in dry food and therfore I don't feed it. I am not confident that any dog food company does what they say. Petra and Felix
  6. Hi, My Dachshund jst has to look at food and he gains weight. No Dog will feel compfortable running if he is fat. Consistend increase in walking will help. I would have a Vet check him out first Also, I have a dachshund who needs to loose weight and decided not tlo give him any more dry food (Orije0n as he just stacked the weight on, even on the smallest amount. I feed him all raw ( meaty bones chichen wings Muscle meat offal, Fish, rabbbit, duck, and steamed veg, brown rice fruit etc now and he has lost 200g already. Petra and Felix
  7. Hi, Worms are Worms so IMO as long as 1 worm product does the job it will do me. I am not sure about getting immune to 1 type of product as you only worm a dog/cat every 3 month and it comes out of the other end pretty soon so immunity cannot be established in the first place. If I am wrong please tell as I am willing to learn. Petra and Felix
  8. Hi again Also supplement with Flaxseed oil Sardines fish oil or any other source of Omega fatty acids. The mistake people make to combat dry skin or other skin condition is to treat from the outside, however the immnue system must be boosted and this happens from the inside. Petra
  9. Hi, PTS? Why? www.marvistavet.com/html/demodectic_mange. Very informative articles. A good diet is essential and you may also give your dog flaxseed oil, sardines etc to boost the immune system. And your Vet is right in not giving cortisone or antibiotics as cortisone only mask the symtoms and antibiotics are only necessary if there is a bacterial infection. All the best. Petra and Felix

  15. Hi An oldie but a goodie Blue Power Ear Treatment Caution: please have your veterinarian evaluate your dog's ear drum prior to treating the ear problem yourself. Be certain that the ear drum is NOT ruptured, as there could be the risk of irreversible deafness or loss of equilibrium. Your vet can rule out the presence of tumors or foreign bodies such as foxtails. A microscope smear would reveal bacteria, yeast or mites and then a culture and sensitivity test can be performed. INGREDIENTS: 16 Oz. bottle of Isopropyl Alcohol (standard 70%) 4 Tablespoons of Boric Acid Powder 16 Drops of Gentian Violet Solution 1% (see end of article for more information) Mix together in alcohol bottle and shake well. You will need to shake solution every time you use it to disperse the Boric Acid Powder. Purchase a flexible plastic bottle with the opening at the top so that the solution may be gently squeezed out and dispense solution to affected ears. The ideal is a hair-dye bottle available at a Pharmacy, Target, etc, or a beauty supply store. TREATMENT PROCEDURE: 1) Evaluate condition of ears before treating and if very inflamed and sore: do not attempt to pull hair or clean out ear at all. Just flush and then wait until inflammation has subsided, which will be about two days. 2) Warm the solution (as instructed above) and shake the bottle each time before using it for treatment,. 3) Flood the ear with solution (gently squirt bottle). 4) Massage gently to the count of 60, wipe with a tissue. 5) On first treatment: flood the ear twice, wipe with a tissue, and leave alone without massage. 6) The dog will shake out the excess, which can be wiped with a tissue. Note: the Gentian Violet does stain fabrics, etc. so you may want to wear gloves. Schedule of treatment: • Treat TWICE a day for the first week to two weeks, depending upon severity of ears. • After the second or third day you can clean out the ear with a soft cloth or cotton balls • Treat ONCE a day for the next 1-2 weeks. • Treat ONCE a month (or even less frequently, depending on the dog). 16. Griseofulvin (also known as Grisovin) is an antifungal drug. It is used both in animals and in humans, to treat ringworm infections of the skin and nails. It is derived from the mold Penicillium griseofulvum.
  17. Hi, I was wondering the same thing. WHY is he on antibiotics? Ringworm is a fungal infection not a bacterial infection. I would not go back to that vet. I think you being ripped off Petra and Felix P.S Wash everything in hot water and wear gloves when you apply any ointments on your dog People can get ringworm too
  18. To fatten them up. "Satin Ball" recipe for dogs This recipe is for dogs who desperately need calories and need to put on weight, but who have no appetite. It sounds yucky, but when these are done they are really appealing, even to me. In my experience, this is a kind of "last resort and hope" food that many sick dogs will eat. Mix all ingredients (like meatballs). I shape them like thick hamburgers rather than balls because they store easier in the freezer and thaw faster. Freeze in serving portion size. Nothing is cooked -- all ingredients are uncooked RAW and "Satin Balls" are served raw. This recipe for Little Dogs (1/10 of full recipe) would be a good test to see if your dog will eat them before you make the substantial investment in ingredients of the half or full size recipe. See Notes below about the Total cereal, oats, wheat germ and vegetable oil. Satin Balls for Little Dogs -- or to try out recipe on your dog to see if he will eat it. 1 lb cheap hamburger (for high fat %) 1 and 1/3 cups Total cereal 1 and 1/2 cups uncooked oatmeal 1 raw egg 6 Tablespoons wheat germ 1 package Knox unflavored gelatin 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil 2 Tablespoons unsulphered molasses Pinch of salt Satin Balls Half Recipe -- recommended amount to mix up 5 lbs cheap hamburger (for high fat %) 1/2 large box Total cereal (about 6 cups cereal) 1/2 large box uncooked oatmeal (about 7.5 cups oats) 5 raw eggs 1/2 of 15oz jar wheat germ (about 2 cups) 5 packages Knox unflavored gelatin 5/8 cup vegetable oil (this is pretty close to 2/3 cup) 5/8 cup unsulphered molasses pinch of salt

  21. Hello, Hyperthyroidism can be treated but blood tests need to be done on a regular basis because it can affect the Kindneys as well I have a cat with Hyperthyroidism and she is on Neo-Mercazole for this condition. Please note: There is a difference between Hypo and Hyperthyrodism. Hyperthyroidism: is the term for overactive tissue within the thyroid gland, resulting in overproduction and thus an excess of circulating free thyroid hormones: thyroxine (T4), triiodothyronine (T3), or both. The term is also often used more loosely to describe any syndrome of excess thyroid hormone (more properly termed hyperthyroxinemia), regardless of the source. Thyrotoxicosis is the term for symptomatic hyperthyroxinemia. Thyroid hormone is important at a cellular level, affecting nearly every type of tissue in the body. It functions as a stimulus to metabolism, and is critical to normal function of the cell. In excess it overstimulates, causing "speeding up" of various body systems, and thus symptoms: Fast heart beat results in palpitations, a fast nervous system in tremor and anxiety symptoms, a fast digestive system in weight loss and diarrhea. Lack of functioning thyroid tissue results in a symptomatic lack of thyroid hormone, termed hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is a common problem in dogs, but rarely occurs in cats. The thyroid gland has a number of different functions, but it is most well known for its role in regulating metabolism. Hypothyroidism is the condition that occurs when not enough thyroid hormone is produced. Hypothyroidism causes a wide variety of symptoms, but is often suspected in dogs that have trouble with weight gain or obesity and suffer from hair loss and skin problems. Hypothyroidism is easy to diagnose with a blood test that checks the level of various thyroid hormones including T3 and T4. Most hypothyroid dogs respond readily to treatment with synthetic thyroid medication such as Soloxine. Many dogs suffer from a low thyroid hormone level for years without treatment. If your dog has chronic recurrent skin problems, she may be suffering from hypothyroidism
