Can your dog have something like a deer's antler or cow hoof.
-
You would most likely find that dogs are not allowed inside the school grounds & therefor, he would have to be left in the car, which of course, is a no no. I wouldn't think a couple of hours in the crate alone would do him any harm providing he is wee'd & poo's before he goes in. Have a bit of a game before & he will most probably sleep the whole time.

Possibly...going by the bad English & one has a link to their website which is in America. It would be interesting to contact them & find out if they are for real. They come with overseas registrations too

Dog fighting is quite common in the states and dogos and pitties are commonly used. They remove the ears to make it harder for the other dog to grab onto the dog. This is where it originally stemmed from anyway. They also used in bore hunting, so owners crop their ears for that reason as well. Thanks :)

Not my cup of tea  but why do they cut their ears off

Just daily raw meaty bones here, like turkey necks....my two dog have great teeth & gums according to my vet

This is an interesting article An egg a day keeps the doctor away Aussie...maybe your OH overdid it on the eggs, but 6 or 7 eggs a week will only do you good. They contribute to cholesterol, yes, but it is the good one.

Me And My Gsd Roscoe Having A Ball

Lovely...you are both really enjoying it -
Damn......& there I was thinking that eating more pavs would build up my biceps & give me some boobs  All it's going to do is increase my hip size. Evidentially even cooked egg white can inhibit Vit B Absorption to some degree.

We live in an area that frequents dingoes & I think the only thing about your dog that resembles a dingo is the colour, even that's wrong, with the colour of the tail & the muzzle which usually has a fair bit of whitish shading. I think his ears are way too big for a dingo. Mind you I think you have to go a long way to find a pure bred dingo to compare him with these days, as most of them are hybrids.

as has been stated many, many times in the past. How can it be balanced by the yolk if it inhibits the absorption of the Vit B in the yolk. Surely without the white, the dog will get more Vit. B absorbed from the yolk than if the raw white was fed as well. Do your dogs need additional Vitamin B? Intestinal bacteria also synthesis Biotin (Vit b7), usually enough for adequate nutritional requirements. Advin in egg white binds to Biotin, which is a Vitamin B. If you ONLY feed egg whites over a long period of time the biotin all becomes bound up by the advin and you get a deficiency. Egg yolk is a rich source of Biotin, meaning that the Advin can still bind to the Biotin but you still have a net gain (or at least no net loss). Thus so long as you dont just feed raw egg whites your never going to end up with a deficiency. Thanks Jumabaar, I have raised this question before in other threads but no-one has ever given it an answer. Yours is the first answer I have seen about egg whites, that makes sense & explains it.

  I think the handler & little dog are saying their prayers & the judge is wondering if she'll get home before dark

I feed my dogs raw egg yolks & throw the white away as I have always thought there was no goodness in it & that raw egg white can inhibit the absorption of Vit. B. I have just been reading a blog on weight lifting (human) & they were talking about the protein in egg white. Evidentially, over half the egg's protein is in the egg white. So for now on, I will still give them the raw yolk (cause cooking spoils a lot of the goodness) & cook the white. I don't crush up the shell to give to them as I am worried they may be getting too much calcium. They get about 5 eggs a week as well as their dry & a whole turkey neck each a day. The nights they don't get an egg (depends on how the chooks are laying) they get fish or steak with their dry. Nice to know pavlova is good for me

Any one know of one around this area???? It isn't for me, it's for a friend's dog...she just wants to get her checked out :)

I have a little brag :) Three day trial at Grafton over the weekend & I tried out a few things to get some more speed into my dog. We are always just missing out on Masters Jumping Q's by about a second Some of the things I tried helped, but she then started mucking up the weaves, which she NEVER does. Yesterday, on the last day, I thought I would try distance handling her at every opportunity.....I still can't believe the results ...3 Q's out of 4 runs. Q in Masters jumping (4th place in 500) with 4 seconds to spare, Q in Masters Agility with heaps to spare & Q in Open Agility. Only just missed out on Open Jumping cause I put her over an extra jump, but her time was great

Can I ask how so? Just wondering if they are the same as the ones at my work, which are just dry hooves? Cleo and my parent's dogs just slowly grind a bit of every night, they don't get soggy or anything. I bought three from Petstock in Ballina. It is just the hoof shell & when they get chewed a bit (wet) the lounge room stinks like cow poo

I wont be buying cow hooves again....they are vile & seeing that they get their special chew in the loungeroom at night before bed....I think I will try the deer antlers again.

I might give it a go - I don't mind about the price. I was just trying to use an Australian made product :) The Applaws dry is made in Australia though the cans are imported. It doesn't matter where it is made as long as it suits your dog. The dog is the priority. :) What a sad attitude Im pretty sure Rosetta is aware that her dog is her priority, but kudos to her for trying to find a food which supports our country and suits her dog. Thats a good point Jules, most people want you to perform miricles with their dogs with just one training session a week. For my class I print up training notes on the lesson of whatever I am trying to teach them, hoping that they will go home & read the notes & practice. I find this works quite well with most.

Maybe being leather, it is just too heavy for him. I wouldn't be putting a $50 leather collar on a new pup. Go with something cheap & lighter & introduce it like the others have said. But I would be getting rid of a heavy leather collar. What breed of pup is he ????

Not sure if I have ever seen that in Australia but thanks for the heads up. In Australia we use a lot of fibre from the coconut for mulch & potting mix which is what I thought it was when I first saw your post. But this stuff appears to be made from the coco bean which is what chocolate is made from.

The verbal or physical cue being given to drop may have become poisened. ie. the dog is associating something unpleasant with the word "drop" or the hand signals being given. Maybe even the unpleasantness of being pushed into position when the cue is given. I would be shaping the dog by using a clicker, making sure the dog understands the value of click marks the behaviour = reward. Shape or lure the behaviour first then when it is 99% proofed, add a new cue word to it. Shaping is a far better method over luring as sometimes the lure itself can become poisened if it is being used to get the dog to do something it fears. :)

Best to get her driving to a target then you can release her by saying "Go, get it". Don't use your usual release word that you would if you were wanting her to come to you. Our young guy, if we line him up before an obstacle & give him our usual release word of "OK" he will more than likely go around the obstacle & come straight to us, which we don't want. So we say "go" & the name of the first obstacle. If that makes sense :)

Hi Snoopy, I have sent you a PM. I took my agility class right through the distance bit using the methods used by Kristy Netzer. Her DVD "Dial up The Distance" is excellent & until recently it was on free shipping from CleanRun. I did make class notes from watching the DVD & I still have them, hence the reason I have PM'd you, if you are interested. :)
