Thanks....I think I will get one of these & see how it goes. As you say, it may just be enough for him to learn to stop doing it :)
-
He is not peeing because he needs to go. I pee him before I bring him inside & take him out at regular intervals. I must be cleaning up right cause he doesn't go in the same spot twice. It doesn't happen often, but enough that I can't take my eyes off him when he is inside.

How does the belly band work. He does have a favourite spot which is under the computer desk, but if he wanders into another room. I would like him to be able to wander wherever & curl up wherever like my girl :) At the moment he is only allowed inside, if he is tethered to me or to an object, or in his crate, or for fun/trick times before bed at night. I would like to be able to leave him in the house when we go out. So maybe the belly band??

I have a 3 year old desexed male border collie. I would love him to be in the house with me all the time, like my BC girl. However, I can't trust him not to lift his leg & pee on things. It doesn't happen often, but often enough for me not to be relaxed when he is in the house I always make sure he has peed in the garden before I let him in, & I am sure he is just "marking". Apart from having him leashed to me the whole time, is there anything else I can do. I don't think he is going to grow out of it. When I catch him doing it, all I can do is growl at him & shove him out the door, but by then, it's too late. He sleeps indoors at night in his crate & never pees in there.

I've done it, but if I knew it was going to take about half an hour to complete, then I wouldn't have started

This is great . I live with a Vietnam Vet who suffers from PTSD & the best thing that has happened to him was to get involved in training/working & playing with his own dog :) He would recommend dogs for therapy to ALL Diggers.

Teela...you still havn't answered my question to clarify your situation...this is a copy & paste of that question :) Are you saying that you are not allowed to use the equipment or not allowed to join an agility class where you are taught how to use the equipment. You can usually only use equipment at a club if you are in class & are being supervised by an instructor.

This Footwork & Teamsmanship Is Just Amazing

It has crossed my mind when deciding what to wear to an agility trial, but I don't really think it would help. The dog should have you in his sights the whole time anyway as he is going off your body language to direct him where to go :) But it is an interesting point....maybe others might have an opinion. -
I would say...get another dog trainer Ask the dog trainer how much time he/she spends with her/his dog. I find with my dogs (BC's) ...they look forward to their walk, agility training & maybe a swim after breakfast (about 1 hour all up). Another walk late in the afternoon & a bit of fun/trick training/or just plain snuggling, before bed. Even though I am home all day, most days, all they do is sleep :)

What size are you looking for...as I have two of these available that I bought for my border collies and have never been worn out on the water.

It's just been ruled out as it is the same weekend as our club's trial -

No... only an 8 hour drive or fly/train plus accommodation I wonder if you learn all that much when you are just a looker...especially when one's hearing is not all that good -

I think I started in agility at a good time (started competing beginning of last year), I was using blind crosses almost from the beginning so well versed in them... Being a fast running handler helps too! I've not been wiped out by Elsie yet, but I'm sure that day is coming  No problem with Bindi as she is a slow coach...but Cricket is a different matter. It would be a very brave handler to try blind crosses with him  Tassie...unfortunately the seminar is going to be in New Zealand. Sorry, my apologies...it is in Sydney -

Oh lucky you I would love to just go & watch. I am still trying to get my head around Blind Crosses without tripping over the dog  -

At one stage there, she almost trips over the dog. It almost looks as if the dog goes between her legs. Ohhhhh...to be 30 years younger & have all that enthusiasm  -
The Solar Snake Repeller Scam (ripoff)
sheena replied to snake catcher's topic in General Dog Discussion
Carpet pythons usually eat rodents, and the larger ones will definitely eat chickens. He is about 8 feet...the same length as the chook pen. I had a tackle with him & got him into a container a few times but he was too quick....in the end he started having a go at me (I don't blame him)...so I have left him be (up in the trees) We have been here for well over 25 years & never had one in our chook pen before, so hopefully he is just eating the rats. The neighbours had one which killed a chook & they relocated him 1.5 kilometers away & he was back the next night. -
Very stylish I still have my two Hurta lifejackets for sale if anyone is interested.

The Solar Snake Repeller Scam (ripoff)
sheena replied to snake catcher's topic in General Dog Discussion
Thanks Pers....I just gave it a go & the rotten thing gave me the evil eye & slithered out through a tiny hole in the corner. He is now in the tops of the tall bushes beside the chook pen, terrorising all the birds Why do the guys have to go fishing when things like this happen -

sheena replied to snake catcher's topic in General Dog Discussion
What can I do about him...OH has gone fishing (he'd know what to do) I certainly don't fancy grabbing hold of that giant head & trying to stuff him in a bag....even if I could get him in a bag...I wouldn't know what to do with him then Are they only active at night -
Is this the same as the manufacturing process that makes...eg potato chips both frozen or snack chips what we humans eat
