Advice For Feeding New Puppy And Existing Dog.
sheena replied to Suzistar's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Contact BlackHawk Pet care for some free samples. Their food doesn't contain any corn, wheat or soy & most dogs eat it readily. :) -
Me thinks this guy is a fraud....& to think he is trying to get business off dog clubs by offering to donate from each purchase.

Strange...cause that's what I felt too. The one with the Border Collie & the lamb in the snow.

No...I have never had a problem with fleas, but my daughter was just asking. Her 13 week old pup is getting fleas even though she has him on Advantix. Her older dog is on Advantix & also Comfortis & doesn't get any fleas. Not sure why she hasn't got the pup on Comfortis as well. But she is looking for something that will do both fleas & paralysis ticks, hence why I am asking about the Scalibor :)

Those using Scalibor collars...how effective do you find them for controlling fleas

X two here. the Ruff Wear Webmaster has an additional strap that goes behind the rib cage,...it's the only thing my guy cannot slip out of :)

Nexgard - Has Anyone Tried This Yet?
sheena replied to Tilly's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Cost wise...I think I worked it out for me, that it will cost me about the same as I pay for the Advantix, as I split the Advantix. It just takes out the hassle of having to apply it every two weeks without fail, & the fact that the dogs can't go swimming for a couple of days every two weeks -

You must be happy with the Scalibors DC. I might look into them for the winter months instead of the Advantix. -
Nexgard - Has Anyone Tried This Yet?

I gave this to my two dogs last night & so far...no reaction They were almost due for their Advantix & it has been so hot, that I dreaded having to tell them that they couldn't go swimming for a couple of days So too early to tell if it keeps the ticks away, but so far, so good with no reactions. I think I will give them this during the hot summer months & go back to Advantix during the months when swimming is not all that important....though they would argue that swimming is ALWAYS important, no matter what the weather  -
Oh dear...it sounds to me as if she has been stolen Border Terriers are not exactly an abundant species, so you would think that someone would notice if a person suddenly aquired one I hope you get her back soon. ETA... I just noticed you are in Vic. I am assuming she was lost in Kingscliff NSW ????

You can get it on Ebay, but it is a lot more expensive than what I got from Norco. Do you have a Petstock local??
-
Just remember...whatever other people think of you, it's none of your business. I get to feel like a lepor sometimes, because I chose to get pedigree dogs & not rescue

Has Anyone Used Our Pet World For Online Shopping
sheena replied to gillbear's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think I would be a bit wary of buying vet products from overseas as I have heard that they can be "not the genuine item" although they look it. You are not saving that much really compared to someone like Budget Pet Products in Oz. Just my opinion...not sure if I would risk it just to save a few dollars. :) -
I got mine from Norco Coffs Harbour. They told me that they had only just got it in, so maybe if you annoy your Norco store, they will get some in for you. I got a 20 kg bag for $37. Petstock has it too as does our other Produce store but they only sell it by the kilo & it works out expensive.

Bought my 20 kg bag of DE today...now just have to work out the best way to apply it to get the ants in the lawn. I hope they have done research on it & it is safe to use. Would hate for it to turn out to be another "asbestos" thing. To be safe, I think I will cover up.

So you didn't have any shrinkage problems

Another vote for K9

Does that also insure your dog? I have heard a story, where a therapy dog was attacked by an elderly person. I have always wanted to do it :)

I have shared it again...I hope she comes home soon

My girl loves hers in winter. I have it lined with lots of warm blankets that she can snuggle into. But on hot nights she prefers to sleep on the floor, sometimes if the night cools down, I will find her back in her bed when I wake up. But, yes, in winter, she loves it. The young guy prefers the lounge

Yes Robbi the oldies do love Dezzy and they know what day he comes in to visit even though they have dementia....they say when a cat sleeps on a persons bed that their time is near and I believe the animals do make the elderly feel a lot better in themselves with pets around.....at the Disability Centre another group came into the unit where I was visiting and one of the clients was patting and talking to Dezzy and everyone was pulling out ipads, phones, cameras etc taking pics of them and also they were crying....I asked what was going on and they said the lady that was patting Dezzy was absolutely terrified of dogs and when they asked her why she was patting Dezzy for she replied that she just felt safe with him.....so yes pets do make a huge difference in nursing homes and disability centres they also have classroom canines which encourge children having difficulty learning make a difference and they start to learn with the dog....there are so many things that pets can do just by being a pet With this sort of thing....how do you get on with insurance

When I had a nursery I used nematodes to control fungus knats
