Both dogs are fed twice a day. In the mornings before breakfast, we take them for a walk & do some agility training, then they run straight back up to the house & wait eagerly for their turkey neck. At night they get their kibble about 1/2 hour before bed, then they get another 1/2 dozen bits of kibble when they get into their beds. They are real stickers for routine

My goals for the start of 2012 is not for titles or Q's, but to spend a bit more time at Excellence Level Agility & use that time to improve my handling skills & experiment a little before we get up into Masters. It sure beats taking the pressure of that last Q needed. Our challenge for 2012 is to teach Cricket Puppy to ride a skateboard & to teach Miss Bindi to ride a surfboard

I have the Satin Soft one in front of me & it says it is 96% natural with Coix seed extract, Witch hazel, Allantoin, Vitamin B6 & Epilobium leischeri extract (what ever that is?)It then goes on to list the ingredients...too many for me to put here, but it does have Sodium Lauryl Sulphate in it. I will have to get the Sensitive Skin one back off my daughter & see what that has in it. If that's any help. I normally use Alloveen, but have trouble getting it to lather up & usually end up using almost a whole bottle in one wash. I don't like using SLS on me or my pets If I can help it. Thanks for that sheena I had a look on the Alloveen bottle to see what that had in it & it doesn't list all it's ingredients.....I would have thought it would be law to list all ingredients on things like shampoo.

What are you feeding her??? What do her meals consist of ?????

I buy the largest one possible & squeeze it into a very small container. Then get a small syringe from the chemist & measure out how much for that dog & that way you get more bang for your buck. For a 12 kilo dog, you would administer 1.2mls but I would go maybe to 1.5mls. So if you buy the 4ml size then you will get a lot more treatments from it for the same price.

I just got the Satin Soft & the Soothing Formula plus the leave-in-cond. I havn't tried the soothing one yet, but it reads like it is fairly much suitable for all dogs regardless.

It's sold by Black Hawk but isn't made by them, Not sure but I think it might be exclusive to them. It's about $16 for 400ml & you can dilute it 1:5, so it's very economical. At that rate with two border collies, I will be still using my bottle in 12 months. Smells nice & not overpowering.

I have just used the YU All Natural shampoo for the first time. I didn't do a full wash, just her legs & tail ....I was very impressed with it. I diluted it down 1:3 but I think next time I will dilute it 1:5 like Sherel advises. Only the smallest amount gives a good lather. I can also vouch for the YU Leave In Conditioner too....I used it on my own hair last night. I also rubbed a bit of it into her tail & the tangles just came straight out. Anyone else used the YU yet???

Any possibility of crate training him. He could then sleep next to your bed in his crate & let you know when he wants to go outside.

All of the above......plus try to present the treat to her with a flat hand. The exercise where you hold the treat in her hand till she backs off & waits is a good one, but when you open your hand, take the treat & treat her with your other hand. You can extend this to putting her in a drop...put a treat on the floor just out of her reach & when she goes to get it, cover it with your hand. When she stops trying to get it & waits, pick it up & give it to her or alternate it with releasing her to it. My dogs love this game.

Yep....I've had a couple. I think you get use of them for 14 days. I don't have a really fast internet & they still worked well.

I love my dogs, but they know that if we are eating or preparing food, they can sit at a distance & watch, but that's all. We just ignore them & they get the hint & go away pretty quick. Most of the time, if they want something from me, they have to do something first, usually a sit or drop. Of course pats & cuddles are free if I am not busy & I don't put sheets on their beds either.....geee...wouldn't my BC pup have fun with those. As it is I have to make sure all matresses are removed from the beds each morning, or he would have them all pulled out around the yard in the mud & disembowled.

I'm going to my first Rally- O workshop at Grafton next Sunday. I have printed off the rules & given it a read....looks like fun. I am going to do it with Mr.Cricket Puppy seeing he is still too young to go to formal agility lessons. Problem is, by the time he starts beginners agility lessons, he is already going to be up to trialing stage (minus jump heights). Maybe the instructor can use him as a "demo" dog So doing Rally-O will be good for him & me, seeing we know absolutely nothing about it.

I used to feed Livamol but havn't done so for a while as I find their food is keeping their coats nice. The older BC started to get a bit bleached, but I stripped her coat with a Mars comb & got out all the dead stuff & she came up nice again. They both swim a lot in the pool, & lay around in the sun, so I expect a bit of bleaching. A friend of mine breeds beautiful Kelpies & she uses Livamol & her dogs are exceptional.

Hmmmmmmm.....I'm thinking...but I think my dogs already have everything....farm, cows to chase, dam to get muddy in, swimming pool on hot days, caravan for camping trips, their own agility park...a massive order from Clean Run. Still thinking.....maybe it would be good to have someone who could do all the work & look after it all

What are you using for treats???? When teaching something new it's best to have really yummy, irresistable treats...they dont have to be big...just tiny & delicious ;) Follow this link for some really yummy, homemade treats that my dogs go bananas for Yummy treats

From my own experience with my "Tasmanian Devil" type border collie...believe me....done properly & with a clicker it does work. But you have to take it in little steps & she has to love the clicker. If you've done any trick training & shaping with the clicker, beforehand, that makes a big difference. Eventually, it just becomes another one of her tricks that she can perform for you & be rewarded for it....ie...looking at whatever & looking straight back to you to tell you about it. What you are doing is telling your dog, "hey, it's OK to be a dog & look at that thing, but tell me about it too"...have fun...I love it & so does my crazy BC. Six months ago, I would have had trouble keeping her in the ring if another dog was running next door, but now I can run a course without even speaking to her
