exactly what tdierikx said, also have you changed the pups diet from what it was on. One of our pups that we sold got very sick when the new owner changed the pups diet. We gave a full bag of food for each of our puppies so the owners had a good supply and could introduce a new food slowly, unfortunately this owner didn't do it that way.

So, you caught the "dog fighters" then? Otherwise, how can you be sure the dog wasn't just mauled by another dog in a non-dog fighting scenario? Until police catch dog fighters and all other scenarios can be ruled out, do you think it wise to state as a fact (as you have above) that some are being taken for dog fighting? Actually 3 guys are currently under investigation for it in the Beenleigh area. A neighbour had seen them pull up and dump the dog and got their registration number. Yes there is a lot of hysteria about it and some of the stories are bull, but I don't think people should be totally in denial about it all.

Yes there is hysteria about dog fights at the moment but dog thefts are very real at present. I work for the police and we take many calls regarding dogs being stolen, when we ask about tag marks on fences, letter boxes etc we get answers back from people with tags such as "oh there is a spray painted blue dot on my fence, or a ribbon tied to my letter box, or even I had a council worker come round doing a survey on my dogs the other day" certain areas seem to be a target along with breeds, what they are stealing them for we can't say for sure. Some and only some have been taken for dog fights as my friend had her dead dog dumped back in her front yard 2 weeks after it had been stolen and the poor thing had been mauled. She found a blue ribbon on her back fence but thought nothing of it and left it. I still don't think people need to go into a severe panic over it however be vigilant as stated by other people. If you do notice anything ring the police and at least have an intel report put on, for people with Policelink in their states ring the 131444 number. A lot of it is copycat hoax but some of it isn't.

I kept toying with the idea of pet insurance but kept putting it off thinking I'll never need it, Thursday night saw me rushing my girl to the Pet ER for an emergency c section and $2000.00 dollars later, ouch. If I had of had pet insurance at least I could recoup some of the money. In saying that though I wouldn't think twice on paying the money to make my babies better. One of the ladies I work with her husband couldn't believe i would spend that sort of money for a dog and was very quick to say it would have been cheaper to just put the whole lot of them down. yes I was very quick to put him in his place and leave their house. Luckily we had the money, but my whole family was offering to put in money for her as she is loved by everyone. I am definately getting pet insurance now.
