The test would be like this - could they have reasonably foreseen that outcome? I think the answer would be YES.....they are not called choker chains without a reason, and should never be left on a dog in any situation.....I heard of another incident where a choker was left on a pup in a backyard, with the same result........just plain stupid, irresponsible, neglect, laziness and negligent.......and in both cases done by people that are seen as being dog experts or professionals

So sorry for your loss.........the owner of this business is just as responsible for the conduct and training of her staff.........this is not an accident it is gross neglience.......I would be going to a solicitor and try to find one that specialises in animals. Report to RSPCA. Has the owner of the business offered to pay for Pets at Peace????? I would also think about going to your local paper with this story.....it's just plain disgusting.......NO DOG should ever be left with a choke chain on any where or for any reason.

Pop into the Vizsla Breed Sub-Forums..... there are plenty there who show, including Wires. Hi, I have shown both Vizslas and WH Vizslas........Vizsla puppies are lovely they are smart and soft and can be very naughty...so be patient, some dont take too kindly to being checked hard or if you accidently tread on their toes, they can scream loudly and will do it in the ring, speaking from experience...LOL... they are a running breed, and even as puppies can move out well....but you'll have to judge your speed too slow they get distracted and jump...too fast they jump...LOL....on the whole they love to move...... this is a breed that should have a light, lively trot, so encourage the pup to put it head up no sniffing the ground but try not to string up either, putting the lead high on the neck behind the ears, as they get older you'll be able to have the lead still high, but loose.....With tails...they are a pointing breed....hold the tail pulled out straight level with the top line......but with the WHV I sometimes show the owner does not want the tail held.....as they are not held in Europe.......Vizsla are about moderation, the word appears in the standard many times.....DO NOT OVER STRETCH THE HINDQUARTER

I am so sorry to read this and truly feel for the owners, the breeders and most of all Orange..........I hope karma gets the bastards that did this......and I hope the Vet practice from where she was stolen from have done something about their lack of security

Found - Little Foxy Type Dog, Wiley Park Nsw
Showpony replied to Katdogs's topic in General Dog Discussion
LOL. Good on you Kat. I hope his owners are found. Hi, Good on you for helping this little guy........I have a similiar looking dog who is the fun police for my Pointers.......she just turned 4 and is greying out now too.......your better than me though, I know it's illegal but I'd keep him but advertise him in the local paper first as a found dog. I couldn't stand the thought of what might happen to him in a pound. That is an awful thing to do. He seems like a much loved dog and he and his owners deserve to be given the best opportunity to be reunited with hims. If he is not reclaimed at the pound he can then be legally adopted. What if it was your dog that went missing? Katdog good on you hopefully his owners can be found when he goes to the pound :) Hi, Actually I would try to locate his owners......I'm not that heartless or selfish...... I am involved in the Rescue Group for my breed.......and very aware of what happens to dogs, that end up in rescues and pounds.......and unfortunately we have had a couple of Pointers found wandering, who would fit the same description as in health and condition but when we tracked the owners, they didn't want them back so we found fosters and re homed. What I have found about doing Rescue is it makes me very cynical about the previous owners and the BS you get told, as a Group we are extremely proud and happy when we can 'save' a Pointer that has fallen on hard times.......my sister had a little Jack Russell X, come into her property, she figured he had probably been around for a while just by the what was happening with her other dog and horses. She figured also he showed himself once he got hungary enough. Turned out he was microchiped, and he came from a property about 5 km up the road from her. She returned the dog, owner put on the big happy re-union routine, wanted to know where he had been etc but my sister felt very uneasy about this. About 5 days later she heard a car screech to a stop at her gate, a dog yelp, the car door slam and drive away at speed. So what came wondering down her drive was the Jack Russell X.......and he has been there ever since -

Hi, Didn't see the show....but was told from others who had, about the Pointers.....and they all agreed nothing exceptionally bad about these dogs behaviour......normal un excercised young Pointers, who also dont like being locked up.........The Pointer Rescue has not had good outcomes when dealing with the LDH.........and have found that they will not deal with us, release dogs when we have foster or homes and basically just dont understand Pointers anyway and will just put the dogs to sleep.

Hi, Have a look at Savic Crates and also C Crates

What sort of response is that? This lady is just trying to live quietly with her dogs and is not bothering anybody. It is disgraceful for an elderly lady to be subjected to that and to be told to get rid of the dogs to appease others cultural beliefs in her own community. That is just not acceptable. I suggest she contact her local member and complain. Perhaps they can arrange a representative of the culture concerned to speak to these people about tolerance. I would still be contacting the Police and asking for these incidences to be recorded........also alot can depend on which Officer you talk to.

Hi, She has to report these ppl, keep a calendar to to what has happened......and also call the Police, as they have also threatened to do harm to the dogs

The rescue group for my breed Pointers has been apart and witness this just recently........where we had given details of our interested to unco operative staff at a shelter not really interested that we were prepared to take a Pointer on that had ended in the shelter........then we find out a week later it has been PTS......after not reacting well enough to a cat.

Hi, The Blue Mountains have become a major P Tick area.....alot of our Vet have maps on their wall, pin pointing where the dogs have come from that they have treated for P Tick........my local Vet used to have this map up only through Summer....it's now up all year round.......I live in the mid Mountains, and this is the first year where I have gotten both bush and P Ticks all through winter.....even though my dogs are on prevention, I check them daily
-
Hi, Looks like a P Tick to me too.....my Vet also says that the prongs (mouth) on P tick a alot longer than on dog ticks and cattle ticks

That number on her sleave could be for any dog sport - I certainly don't do agility for my ego. We're going training tonight and I'll only get to bed after 11pm. I do it for him. I believe you're doing it for him - but surely you must enjoy it too I'm not back in the ring yet, but we train every day because it's bonding - we both love it :) Hi, Of coarse I enjoy what I do with my dogs.......but I make sure my ego doesn't get in the way eg when I'm asked the question how did you go today, I never say I won, I always say my dog won......and my dogs love showing too

Perpetual Trophy Recommendations Please :)
Showpony replied to stonecutter's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hi, Perpetual Trophies are a pain in the bum.......they mostly have to be chased if given out or they end up cluttering up the Secretary's cupboard (this is speaking from experience) give out right win trophies, and ones that are donated are even better...........but keep a photo album with nice 10 x 8 photos as your Club record.......this ten preserves the Club history and a copy of the winner with the trophy can also be sent to the donor
