Hi all i have a 6 yo male stafford in the last year and a half he has been suffering with skin problems. It first started with hot spots quite severe localised to the face, these were quite ulcerated and very sore. The hot spots were ongoing for mayby 6months i changed his diet and treated with meds from the vet and all cleared up and never returned.
Now he has been getting infections between the toes usually one foot is quite severe and the rest a bit crusty. The vet ruled out grass seeds and said is probably a bacterial infection from licking. He was treated with 2 weeks of oral antibiotics wich cleared it all up. Then a few weeks later it returned to the same foot plus the others were crusty again. This time he was on the antibiotics for 1 month. The infection has once again returned, he was fine running around playing the morning now hes sore and limping.
I really need some advice on where to go next with this. Our vet places him in the category of another stafford with seasonal skin allergies. if it is allergies would he of had problems his whole life. any advice would be much appreciated...cheers vic
