Very Sad News From The Midniara Household Rip Buddy
trifecta replied to ~Shepherd~'s topic in Rainbow Bridge
I Stood By Your Bed Last Night I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep. I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep. I whined to you softly as I brushed away a tear "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here." I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea. You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me. I was with you at the shops today, your arms were getting sore. I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more. I was with you at my grave today, you tend it with such care. I want to reasuure you, that I'm not lying there. I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key. I gently put my paw on you, I smiled, I said "It's me." You looked so very tired & sank into a chair. I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there. It's possible for me, to be so near you every day. To say to you with certainty, "I never went away." You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew... In the stillness of that evening I was very close to you. The day is over..... I smile & watch you yawning and say, "Goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning." And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide, I'll rush across to greet you, & we'll stand, side by side. I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see. Be patient, live your journey out..... then come home to be with me. Author Unknown I am so fortunate to have met Buddy on a visit to Tasmania a couple of years ago. He touched many hearts, was a great ambassador for the breed, & most importantly, was the most wonderful guardian & companion a family could wish to own. Wish we could ease your pain, Maria...... hugs to you all from us here, particularly from Buddy's beautiful daughter who lives on in his image Sweet dreams, Buddy boy, & Dog speed over the Bridge Alison Ned Marley Rogan Ringer -

Lovely pics of the moon rise, annie, a great way to finish the month!
-
Thanks Rozzie! That's our big boy Rogan, Shep x Kelpie ex SDH. He's beginning to show a little bit of age, would be rising 8 years I guess. He hates having his photo taken but will lap up adoration all day

Three from me to end the month: I have been hampered by all sorts of laptop problems this month, but look forward to next month's challenge...... & a new laptop! :D
-
Me too I have pics on my camera, but have had alot of issues with my laptop in the last 6 weeks, including losing some important data that I hadn't backed up adequately I really need a new laptop but will have to wait a couple of months. I am slowly trying to catch up, but am constrained by the machine overheating..... anyway here are weeks 8, 9 & 10 for Marles... 8/52 9/52 Cleaning the Car! 10/52

JB HiFi have the Lumix advertised at $246 until March 22nd. I presume this is the current model, though it doesn't say. ETA No it is not the TZ7, which retails for just over $500 & is not in stock. Apparently the TZ10 is due in any day & will be priced at $693 :D Definitely better to buy off-shore!
-
I am also interested in this thread as OH would like to do some photography, but doesn't want to lug a DSLR around on long hikes & bush walks. Just trying to remember who on here has a Lumix, from recollection it takes very nice piccies?

Ben is gorgeous, I think he would fit in here perfectly : Flickr Australian Kelpie Group!

Thanks, tlc, they are straight off the camera & cropped, nothing more!

I missed a lot of last month's challenge due to issues with my laptop & having to have Windows reloaded. However, here are my first efforts for this month - a couple of seascapes taken on a holiday in Tasmania.
-
I have had a lot of problems with my laptop over the last 10 days & have to get Windows reloaded. At the moment I can't get the pics off my camera so week 7 will have to wait! Meanwhile I will sit back & enjoy the pics you guys are posting They are all great - a diverse collection of dogs & every photographer with their individual style ;)

I managed to take this one yesterday before the rain set in: Marley really loves to snuggle & takes every opportunity she can! She pretends she cannot jump off the ute tailgate just to sneak a snuggle in! I took that shot to signify LOVE in the February challenge, so I guess it is very apt for St. Val's day, which is why I have chosen it for week 6/52.
-
They are all lovely photos, helen, but I think no.4 is my favourite..... Bella looks like she is about to pounce on the camera! Wish I had some great shots like that to choose from, the rain is really hampering efforts this weekend
-
Lovely blues in your shot, huga, & love the play of light in your SUBTLE, SB! I am joining the challenge late this month, but here are some for starters: BLUE OUTSIDE WIND ( Sorry huga, pinched your idea for wind, but I love to hear the wind whispering through the casuarinas!) LOVE (Also my week 6 shot of 52 weeks of Marley - apt considering tomorrow is St. Vals )
-
Kirty, guess you haven't seen many working Kelpies or BCs..... rear dew claws are very common in these breeds. But you know pics are mandatory, don't you
-
They are gorgeous, but PLEASE can we get the name right.... they are Belgian, hailing from Belgium (the country)

;) Nothing as dramatic as TerraNik's here. Today was cool & drizzly following torrential rain yesterday - a good afternoon for a hike of 17km At the start & ready to go: Marles 5/52

I believe vaccination against leptospirosis is recommended in the Northern Territory

Thought I shouls add apic for the last day of the month even though I haven't kept up. Just love this one of Ringer who would fish every minute of the day if he could! love the colour of his coat & the rocks.... -
Have you tried using Megaderm? It is a supplement containing the correct balance of Omega 3,6 & 9 together with trace elements such as zinc especially for skin problems. I would be cutting out the malaseb washes too & you could try a topical ointment such as Neocort on any lesions which are particularly inflamed.

Wasn't sure if I should post this here or in Off Topic from "Breeding & Racing" January 28th: Big Day Out Revellers Harm Flemington Horses However The Herald-Sun revealed this morning: “Two top racehorses are fighting for their lives & others are badly injured after crazed Melbourne Big Day Out revellers gatecrashed their Flemington stables.” The newspaper reported: “Rock fans broke into at least 4 stables, including those of last year's Melbourne Cup-winning trainer Mark Kavanagh. The hoons, who were trying to sneak into Tuesday's concert, let about 25 fillies & mares out of their boxes & chased them around the complex. It is believed 2 fillies suffered a broken pelvis, a life-threatening injury for a horse. . . . The rampage caused mayhem for several hours as staff battled to corral the horses.” The full extent of the damage “has the potential to escalate into a multi-million damages claim”. (Jan 28) I am not a wowser, but no doubt the demon drink was partially to blame yet again. There is also an investigation into how unauthorised entry was made into the Flemington stable complex.
