I'm in the process of building a new house & would like to build a couple of large pens/dog runs for our 3 dogs. I have about 9 x 4.8 metres to spare & thought there may be some elaborate designs here people may like to share. I'd like to have a seperate housing to keep one our the girls in when they come on heat & plan to keep the dogs in the pens whilst we're at work through the warmer months as we do have snakes down at the creek so plan to make it snake proof also. Any pics, ideas, opinions welcome. thanks.

I've got a 10 week old Aussie Bulldog & he seems to get the hiccups a lot?! What would be causing this & could this be a sign of any problems that maye arise in the future

Geez hasn't this opened a can of worms It's great to see a couple of 'experienced' dog handlers here giving opinions on the matter & from what I can gather my pup (who's 10 weeks) is probably still too young to have a check chain on him. In saying this though, he has already learnt to sit aswell as walking beside me on a lead & comes when called on a lead. I'm happy with progress so far & look forward to my little mate growing up to be my best mate, he's a top little dog & I'd hate to have him grow up into a nuisance because I didn't nip bad habits in the butt earlier on which is why I had been told to speak to a dog handler early in the piece Thanks for your replies & sure enough there'll be more questions to come over time

My partner & I recently purchased our first puppy (an Australian Bulldog) so being our first dog we thought we'd send him to a local dog trainer. The trainer's dogs are exceptionally obedient & as would be expected come on one vocal comand or hand movement. We've been training him with a collar though have used a check chain on him today & have had different opinions on this already. From what I gather if it's not used with too much force (how much is too much with a puppy???) then they can be effective though from what I know a lot of vets don't recommend them. What are some of the opinions here on them & is there a risk that this could cause injuries to my lil mate down the track. He's like our first child & we'd hate to have any problems with him in the future due to my inexperience & lack of knowledge on this subject....That's why I've asked here

Hi there. Last weekend my my partner & I were lucky enough to be picked from what I would assume to be many others that had put their hand up for an Aussie Bulldog pup, what a little cutie he is too I'd been brought up with Pomeranians & Rotties from Mum & Dads sides though Kato will be the first dog my partner & I have had as our own so thought I'd ask a couple of simple questions here. I was hoping to get some opinions/advice on socialising my pup with other dogs @ as a pup. He'll be 8 weeks old & have his up to date vaccination/shots though what possibilities are there of my little pup catching diseases from other dogs? I've read that Parvo can linger in environments for up to 6 months so taking him for a play in the park might not be such a good idea aswell as having him playing with pops Fox terriers may not be either. Many more questions to come & I look forward to your replies on this. Here's a pic of Alfie that will be known as Kato once he's ready to come home next Sunday.
