Bega Valley Kennel Show, 5th, 6th And 7th
Bjelkier replied to Bjelkier's topic in General Dog Discussion
I gave up after our whole camp was soaked threw so we stumbled back home after hanging around for General Specials (which offcause after waiting for we got nothing ) But Icemist stayed and apparently its ok today, the grounds are no longer a total lake and obediance might be going ahead tomorrow so we will be heading back down for Sunday (thankfully its not a long drive!) I also have to give a cheer to the Judge Mrs Watson, wow she was so good about the whole thing and made the day fun when it could have been totally horrible. And I will post the photos a little bit later after I dry out my car :p SSM, how is the car? -

Who Wants To Share Their 'doggy' Credentials?
Bjelkier replied to MsBex's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have had dogs my whole life, mostly gundogs up until recently. My aunt was a breeder of CKCS for many years and I helped her out and so began my desire to one day breed dogs. I also spent a little bit of time helping at a boarding kennel/cattery and vets owned by my best friends mother. It took awhile to finally get around to showing, the chance was given to me by my MIL and her Newfies at the same time I was working as a vet nurse. After showing the Newf's for a little while I decided that I was really interested in showing a breed of my choosing and eventually got my first Samoyed Mistral and meeting a very good friend on the breed who really helped me out titling my beautiful boy and teaching me about the breed in general. I now have my beautiful little girl and am hoping to get my prefix sorted out in the near future. Not exactly the longest history but I am only 24 -

Are you camping there? :D You obviously don't know me! :D The canopy is as close as I will get to camping! We have a family cottage at Regatta Park Holiday Park and it was pretty good value at $90 per night for both of us. It is off peak there now. I feel for you all doing the camping thing especially in the wet weather. I don't have any camping gear and believe me I have no intention of ever buying any. See you there. Cheers Gaela A cabin sounds really good but after my OH made me buy a 400 something dollar tent I told him on pain of death that he has to use it at least once. I'm starting to think that isn't such a good thing for me.... -

We're going and thanks to your post I just checked the weather. TG we are only showing a Baby Afghan and staying with friends so we can dunk the little bugger in a bath if we have to (and stay back at their place and have prawns and white wine if it all looks too dire...). Will pack extra towels and rain gear. What is it about that weekend? I remember one year it rained so much the obedience field was under 3 inches of water and they had to cancel the trial I thought I saw Bear with a little Affie pup at Bungendore (unless I'm going mad and seeing things again :D ) I'm taking a battery pack and the hair dryer for the Sammies along with about 100 towels! And I'll be going for my boys CCD which I'm not looking forward to in pouring rain. Just really hope the tent is as good as the sales guy told me it is :D -
So anyone else braving it this weekend with what sounds like is going to be vile weather, or am I the only mad hatter camping and showing all three days?

Love the Lemon Annie Today's word is Wait. I know it's not very original but the look on my Labs face when he is waiting for food is just too good to pass up. (Lesta was very upset when he found out all the food was not for him)

Dont mind at all, I look forward to seeing what you come up with, I love your photos.

Becasue I just don't have the time to do two different things at the moment I am going to make this my 365 project but as there are only 25 items and I don't want to double up on anything I have added horror wild epic to my list own as well Might not post them on here though as they are not part of the actual challenge.

Nutro Natural Choice Dog Food
Bjelkier replied to BooBooBear's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My dogs are on it at the moment and I am very happy with it. Mistral my, male Sammie, is almost impossible to keep a decent weight (his father is exactly the same ) and Nutro has been fantastic for that. It's also done wonderful things for my Lab, he looks better then he ever has. -

Day 29 is a little late from me as I was feeling like death lastnight and every time I stood up the room started spinning! So thats the photo, a spinning room............ Day 29 And Day 30, my little girl Alchemy -
I was thinking about Russian names for the Samoyeds but when it came down to the crunch they ended up with something totally different I want my next Samoyeds to be Chimera or Delain (for a girl) and Tarot (for a boy), so no Russian to be seen. My animals dont usually get people names, the current themes are mythology, bands and characters.

I put martingals on my Samoyeds when out and at home, like Snopaws dogs, they run around in the nude

From my vivid imagination........and knowing how full of knowledge some joe public are.... * oh look...Samoyeds now come in SHORT COAT !! * Yes...they are the albino shepherds ! * Yep, shepherds turn white when they live in the alps ! And no matter HOW BIG your breed banner is........you will still have people insisting it's their version !!! fifi Oh good now we have three sizes. Toy,Mini and now Standard short coat -
I agree with this. It sounds to me like he is hovering down his meals and the walking after dinner is causing an upset tummy. Personally I would be taking it very easy with the walks and at that age while he hasn't had all his Vacc none at all. But that's JMO How much exercise has his breeder reccomended?

Leaving More Than 1 Dog At Home Alone
Bjelkier replied to all that glitters's topic in General Dog Discussion
We take them over to the kennels and lock them in. Actually they take us over to the kennels, bounce around a whole lot, race into their kennels and wait for us to shut the gate. My dogs adore being over there while we are out for some reason, but god help us if we are home and they are in the kennels I will say bye but thats about it.
